An "Insane Difficulty" Valheim Adventure

This modpack is now available to the public. My community is still doing a playthrough test, so there may be regular updates to the configuration files here until we have completed our playthrough. Currently, we're entering the Mistlands for T5 content and fixing things as we come across them.

Game Features

• Insane mob difficulty (up to 10 stars)
• Custom raids (150+) that scale in difficulty
• Custom boss fights (WAY more difficult than vanilla)
• Dedicated multiplayer server, intended for 3+ players
• Repair gear and weapons with gold Coins (like an MMO)

What is cjaycraft?

Shout out to the developers, pack makers, and everyone working on great things! This pack is a configuration of all the great things made by people in the community. Thanks for giving people great content to enjoy!

• A collection of over 70 mods! The difficulty is INSANE and features up to 10-star mobs and bosses. Also includes custom boss fights and raids that attack your base!

• You will need several players. Recommend a minimum of 3. It's not possible by yourself! We tested a kill fight sequence on the 4th boss (Moder) with 3 players and it took 1.5 hours to him! Waves of monsters, it was insane!

• Need to take a break from killing things? No problem! Build your own boat, custom from the ground up! This pack features all the fun creative elements of the game without breaking or making the rest of the game too easy.

• Gold (coin) economy, repair your gear with Coins, and custom loot drops!

• Purchase supplies from Haldor the Merchant for a premium, or sell him your cooked foods to earn Coin!

• It's so hardcore that each player can only build 6 portals (3 linked networks) at the start of the game. Build more portals by acquiring special Portal Fluid from killing bosses or purchasing them from Haldor the Merchant!

• Enemy encounters require tanks, casters, and DPS!

• Since this is a modpack, you will be able to change the settings. Customize it to the experience you want.

It's recommended to run a dedicated server, even if you're playing from the same machine. Plus, you need friends to play this pack!

Note: Load times when launching the game are exceptionally longer than vanilla, especially for the server, because they need to load large files like loot tables. Lots of customization! But all good things.

Controls You Want To Know

Gameplay

• Gear and weapons cost gold Coin to repair
• Wood items are free to repair
• 'Better Wards' will reduce building damage by 85%
• 'Better Wards' will repair buildings 20% every 60 seconds
• The Merchant Trader can buy/sell items
• Sell cooked food, or trash items to make Coin
• Clicking on the [Craft] tab opens a drop down filter for sorting
• Chests next to machines will have items deposited to them automatically
• Inventory weight inside shoulder backpacks is reduced by 50%
• When you die, keep your equipped armor
• When you die, lose 10% skills
• Build and fight in the water (keep your equip on)
• Carrots in a chest will feed pigs
• PortalFluid can be earned by killing bosses or purchasing from Merchant

Tips

• Make lots of first-tier potions, they're cheap and will keep you alive.
• The new cooking tables make better food than vanilla
• Build bunkers to hide, survive the raid attacks.
• Enchant slow to your weapons to survive fights
• Get the healing rune early
• Chaos enemies attack with a random damage type

Inventory and Hotkeys

• Drag item and press Delete to recycle the item into parts

• Split stack of items: Left Shift + Right Click

• Split 1 item: Drag + Right Click

• Left Alt + 1 or 2 or 3 to change quiver arrow slots (only with inventory window closed)

• Press 'N' to quick equip a cart

• Press 'T' to open your equipped backpack

• Press 'Y' to quickly drop your equipped backpack

• Press ` (key above tab) to switch hotbars (first 2 rows of your inventory)

• Press F7 to edit UI 

• Press F1 to open the configuration manager

Are You Ready!?

Valheim mods are not easy to install. Compatibility issues everywhere! So I made a modpack to play with my friends, and offer the best experience for HARDCORE progression. The insane raids and difficulty will give you quite the challenge, testing your skill and might!

Make sure you install this modpack with R2modman for an automated installation process!

I've also spent 200+ hours testing the mods, re-writing broken code for mods, customizing config files, balancing economy, balancing fights, and making the game a great experience.

FPS Boost Recommendations

The game is poorly optimized, so I recommend playing with at least medium-grade settings.

Some tips to reduce lag:

• Don't build too many things in one place.
• Split up your bases.
• Don't make boats that are too big.
• Don't make things with too many player placed objects.
• Don't make your farms too big.
• Basically, if you wanna go big, spread things out so they're not loaded in at the same time.

Updating This Modpack

Using r2modman from valheim.thunderstore.io ONLY UPDATE cjaycraft_ultimate_modpack -- This will also automatically update dependent mods that are SAFE to update.

Use r2modman to keep track of files that need updating and download dependencies.

Quick Connect

Add your favorite server to the QuickConnect file so that you can connect quickly from the opening game screen.

Armor and Weapons Guide

These armor sets are a combination of several different mods. Mostly following the lead of EpicValheim and their excellent fine tuning, I've added a few more armor sets from Jude's Equipment, Chaos Armor, and the new (vanilla sets) like Fenring from the Mountain Dungeon!

You'll notice that not every armor set is upgradeable at every Tier, so you will have to make entirely new types and sets of armor if you want to min-max and survive.

One key to survival: enchant and augment your armor as much as possible!

Is your character spinning?

• Make sure you don't press the 'Update All' button on R2modman. It updates 2 mods that are broken in their latest versions. Specifically: Jude's Armor and Better UI Remake. ONLY UPDATE cjaycraft_ultimate_modpack -- it will automatically update the rest that are SAFE to update.

Is your item displaying with an error?

• Your world or character might have "legacy" items if you started playing this modpack from an earlier version. Certain enchants were added and removed from the game (EpicValheim configuration) as part of game improvement and balancing. So to fix this, drop the item, or delete the item, or recycle the item -- and then your UI will display without issues.

• Stamina! .. Added Better_Stamina mod to hopefully improve game flow. The high level weapons use too much stamina. .. Reduce stamina usage for weapons by 33% if at 100 skill level. .. Increase stamina regeneration rate overall.

• New Raid! .. Bzzz. Some happy bees drop off supplies!

• Boss cooldowns tweaked .. Lowered boss cooldowns of mini-bosses to match regular bosses.

• Haldor Merchant Trader Prices. .. All magic types of Green rarity can now be sold to vendor for 25 Coins each. (not purchased)

• Item drops .. Higher level skeletons have a 100% chance to drop bones. .. Lox have a 100% chance to drop LoxMeat and additional based on star level. .. Reduced drop rate of scales.

• Skill balance tweaks .. Removed Tenacity (was OP and never died from loss of HP) .. Removed Vitality (Smoothbrain mod) -- Another Vitality mod still exists.

• Rune tweaks .. Damage of Immolation rune has been doubled to see if it's more useful. (440dmg to all nearby creatures)

• Raid tweaks .. Increased raid frequency from 45 minutes to 55 minutes. .. Fixed some raids where multiple mini-bosses would spawn. (Should only be 1)

• Metal conversions .. Removed scale conversions to metals because it allowed you to skip tiers without visiting those zones.

• Updated mod dependencies .. Smoothbrain-Building-1.2.0

• Attempted to change but was not able THESE ARE NOT IMPLEMENTED .. Lower attack stamina usage for Heavymetal, Frometal, Flametal weapons. Tried, but not possible in basic configs I think. .. Make Eyescream a spirit resist icecream. Not possible in basic configs I think.
