GUI Scale Unlocked for Valheim

A mod that unlocks the game UI scale setting with a user configurable maximum value. It is also possible to configure the position of the item tooltip.

Features

This mod changes the maximum value of the GUI Scale slider under the Accessibility tab in the game settings.

Once the game has run once with the mod installed, a config file will appear under <GameDirectory>\Bepinex\config where you can specify the maximum value yourself.

You can also specify the position of the item tooltip using XY coordinates. By default, the tooltip is moved under the inventory/container instead of on the right side.

FAQ

Why Would I Want This?

If you have a very large or multi-monitor set up, it can help to scale the UI more than the vanilla 115% maximum. If you're playing on a vertical monitor (or using something like NucleusCoop to split the screen vertically), the item tooltip might be hidden under the panel on the right so this mod moves it under the inventory/container.

I don't need to move the item tooltip, how do I leave it to its original position?

Set all 4 Tooltip values in the config file to 0.

Does this work with Better UI (Reforged) or -X- mod?

It has not been tested.

Yes, and if fact it works really well in conjunction with something like Better UI since Valheim's native GUI scale value also affects the global text element sizes, whereas other mods may only affect the size of specific UI element panels. In short, this is a very simple mod so unless another given mod specifically modifies the GUI Scale slider maximum value, it shouldn't conflict.

Installation

r2Modman (recommended)

1. Install r2modman
2. Create a new profile
3. Select "Online"
4. Search for "GUI Scale Unlocked" and download
5. Click "Start Modded"

Manual

1. Extract the archive into a folder that is not the game folder
2. Move the GuiScaleUnlockedFix.dll file into <GameDirectory>\Bepinex\plugins
3. Run the game and it will generate a config file into <GameDirectory>\Bepinex\config
