PortalManager
Every portal in the world in one list. Pick a destination instead of juggling tags. Name portals, give them map icons, and find the one you meant.PortalManager
Every portal in your world, in one list. Walk up to any portal, press use, and pick where you're going.
What's in it
- One list, every portal. Not just the ones nearby — the server knows where all of them are, so the list is complete the moment you open it.
- Pick a destination instead of matching tags. No more renaming two portals to "mine" to link them, and no more renaming them back.
- Unnamed portals name themselves. A portal nobody has tagged is listed by the biome it stands in, so a hastily-dropped portal in the Plains is still findable.
- Give a portal an icon. The rename screen offers every map icon the game has, so you can spot your base or your mine in the list at a glance.
- Search, and sort by distance, name or biome.
- Configurable, and server-synced. The rules live on the server; the way the list looks is yours.
What it doesn't do
Travel obeys every rule it always did. Ore and other teleport-blocked items are still blocked, the no-portals world modifier is still honoured, and portals still close during a boss fight. There is no setting to turn any of that off — a list that teleported around those checks would just be a duping exploit with a nice window.
Tags become names
By default a portal's tag is a label and nothing more. Two portals can both be called "Home" without fighting over each other, because nothing pairs them any more — the list does the travelling.
If you'd rather keep the old behaviour underneath, set KeepVanillaTagPairing and
matching tags will link portals exactly as they always have, with the list as an
override on top.
Turning the mod off restores every pairing on its own. The link between two portals is something the game works out from their tags every few seconds, so it comes straight back; nothing about your world is rewritten to make this work.
Multiplayer
Everyone needs the mod, including the server. The server is the only machine that can see every portal, so a client without the mod has nothing to ask and no window to ask it in.
Safe to add to an existing world, and safe to remove from one.
Works with ServerSide QoL
Tested against ServersideQoL_PortalProgression, which lets you carry ore through a portal once you've beaten the right boss. That mod works by taking the ore out of your pack while you stand near a portal and giving it back when you leave, so travelling has to happen while you're close enough for it to have done that.
TravelRange exists for this and defaults to 4 metres, matching PortalProgression's own
PortalRange. If you change one, change the other. Stand a little closer and the list
will say so rather than leaving you guessing.
