BeenThere
Resources drop more in biomes you have been through: per player, by boss kill, with a catch-up tier for returning players.BeenThere
Resources drop more in biomes you have been through. Each player earns a higher drop rate on a biome's wood, stone and metal by killing that biome's boss, and a player returning from an earlier world can name a catch-up biome to get the boost up to it until they kill its boss. Everyone else gets vanilla rates. Both rates default to 3x and are configurable.
Progress is per character, not per world. Your group killing the Queen does nothing for a player who was not there. New players start with vanilla rates everywhere until they kill Eikthyr, unless the server sets a default catch-up tier for them.
Install on the server and on every client. The server's settings and progress records are sent to clients on connect, so clients need no matching config.
Tiers
| Tier | Boss | Items |
|---|---|---|
| Meadows | Eikthyr | Wood, FineWood |
| BlackForest | The Elder | RoundLog, Stone, CopperOre, TinOre |
| Swamp | Bonemass | ElderBark, IronScrap |
| Mountain | Moder | SilverOre |
| Plains | Yagluth | BlackMetalScrap (creature drop, off by default) |
| Mistlands | The Queen | BlackMarble, YggdrasilWood |
| Ashlands | Fader | Grausten, FlametalOreNew, Blackwood |
| DeepNorth | The Frozen King (final phase) | Frostwood, GoldOre |
The table is config. Tiers can be added, items moved, bosses changed.
How a drop is decided
The player who landed the breaking hit on the tree, log, rock, ore deposit or creature:
- has killed this tier's boss: tier rate (default 3x);
- otherwise has a catch-up tier at or above this tier: catch-up rate (default 3x);
- otherwise vanilla.
Drops nobody hit, such as a tree knocked over by a falling tree, ore
collapsing when its support is mined away, or fire, follow the
NoAttackerRule setting: WorldKey (default) gives the tier rate once
the world's boss key is set and never the catch-up rate; ZoneOwner uses
the record of the player whose game generated the drop; None gives
vanilla.
Creature drops (black metal scrap from fulings) are only scaled when
CreatureDrops is on.
Console commands
Press F5 in game:
beenthereorbeenthere status: your record and the rate you get per tier.beenthere catchup <tier>orbeenthere catchup none: ask the server for a catch-up tier. The server checks its allowlist and cap and answers top-left.
Kill credit
When a boss dies, the server credits that tier to every connected
character, or only to those within KillCreditRadius metres of the death
if that is set. Any kill counts, not only the world's first. The Frozen
King counts when its final phase dies. Everyone sees a message naming who
was credited.
For server admins
Progress lives in BepInEx/config/BeenThere/state.txt on the server, one
character per line:
world=MyWorld
player=Alice;kills=BlackForest,Meadows,Swamp;catchup=Mistlands
player=Bob;kills=Meadows;catchup=none
Edit it while the server runs; it reloads within a second and pushes to
every client. No catchup field means the server's DefaultTier
applies. A character with no line is a new player.
Config (syxe.BeenThere.cfg):
[Rates]TierRate,CatchUpRate[CatchUp]DefaultTier,AllowedTiers,MaxTier[Rules]NoAttackerRule,CreatureDrops,KillCreditRadius[Tiers]Orderplus onebosses|world key|itemsline per tier
Vanilla's own resource-rate world modifier still applies underneath; run the world at the default rate.
