What it changes
Every colour of Kerfur Omega — the ones the shop lists as "Kerfur-O (red)", "(blue)" and so on — plus the plain one. Both forms are covered: the walking robot and the folded-up unit you pick up and carry.
kerfurOmegaV1, _nc, _m, _h the body meshes
inst_kerfurOmega_sk, _sk_col, the materials the game assigns at runtime
_sk1, _sk2
kerfusDeactivated, 1, 2, 3 the carried/dropped form
kerfurOmega_col, _0, _1, _2 blueprints, to suppress the screen face
Kerfur Omega's named skins — alien, Erie, Maxwell, Monique, mannequin and the rest — have their own meshes and are left alone.
The model is bound to the game's kerfurOmegaV1_Skeleton, so walking, running,
riding the ATV and handing over reports all play unchanged. The stock animated
screen face is suppressed via skipFaceAssign, the game's own flag, because the
character has a face of her own; kerfurOmega_alien uses it for the same reason.
Read this before installing
The colour picker no longer changes anything. The replacement carries its own texture with a black colour mask, so every colour of Kerfur Omega looks the same.
The wings and tail do not animate. Kerfur Omega's skeleton has no bones for them, so they ride rigidly on the chest and hips. Giving them bones would mean shipping a modified copy of the skeleton, which every Kerfur Omega variant and every Kerfur animation shares — not a risk worth some wing sway. In the folded prop the wings are swept back so it packs down.
Proportions shift. Kerfur Omega's arms are about 1.9x longer than the source character's relative to her torso. The model is fitted to the skeleton rather than the other way round, which keeps her hands where the animations expect them. The alternative was hands floating a quarter of a metre from anything they pick up.
Known blemish. A patch on the forehead, above one eye, samples skin colour where it should be hair. That is in the source model's UVs, not something the port introduced, and no automatic fix separated it from the white bandages wrapped round the horns without eating those too. It is on the list.
Compatibility
Conflicts with any mod that replaces the same assets — most likely another Kerfur Omega reskin. Whichever loads last wins. It does not touch the skeleton, the animations, or the named skins' meshes.
Requires unreal_shimloader. No VoidMod dependency.
Installation
Through the mod manager, install and it works — nothing else to do.
By hand, copy pak/KerfurKurobara_P.pak into
VotV/Content/Paks/LogicMods/
Keep the _P suffix. It marks the file as a patch pak, which is what lets a
replacement outrank the asset it replaces; renaming it is the quickest way to
make the mod silently do nothing.
