More magic, stranger physics and more ways to build your character. YAPYAP Expanded adds three new staffs with ten spells, three extra spells for original wands, merchant upgrades, classes, wand properties and special nights.
This is a pre-release, not the final stable release. Multiplayer testing is incomplete. All players must install the same version; the host's gameplay settings apply to the session.
Please report multiplayer bugs.

New staffs and spells
Buy the new staffs from the normal merchant stock. Their names, icons and spells are their own; the native grimoire shows the available incantations for your selected spell language.
Frost Staff
- Freeze — freezes a player or monster for ten seconds. A fire-wand hit thaws the target and deals additional damage. Freeze has one charge.
- Ice Rink — creates a slippery area where players, creatures and props keep sliding with their momentum.
- Iceberg — raises a temporary, climbable iceberg. Its emergence damages and launches nearby targets.
Staff of Fortune
- Multiplier — rolls a die on a supported prop or monster. A roll of 1 destroys the target for score; 2–6 create that total number of targets, including the original. Copies are temporary. Each original can be multiplied only once, and copies cannot be multiplied again or sold. Prop copies award one quarter of the final destruction score, rounded down; monster copies award the original monster's full reward.
- Random Score Multiplier — temporarily grants a random destruction/kill score multiplier, normally between ×1.5 and ×6. It does not multiply shop gold, damage or quest rewards.
- Lucky Break — prepares a random response to the next incoming attack: damage cancellation, reflection, an escape, a speed bonus or failure. Luck is not guaranteed.
Reality Staff
- Reverse Gravity — creates a field following the caster that turns gravity upward for affected players, monsters and props.
- Randomize — transforms a supported target into a random prop or monster. Players temporarily control their new form; some non-player transformations are permanent. Generated forms do not provide gold or score.
- Portal — two casts place linked surface portals. Players, monsters and props can pass through while carrying their momentum.
- Anchor — records a safe return point. Cast again to recall while it is armed; its protection can also recall you from lethal damage with 1 HP and your inventory intact.
Extra spells for original wands
- Wind: VACUUM — creates a sphere that continuously pulls in physical props and damages them.
- Grotesque: FISH RAIN — rains physical fish into an area, with a rare giant fish that can act as a moving platform.
- Telekinesis: ORBIT — holds up to eight eligible nearby objects in a low orbit by default. While the effect lasts, moving near more objects fills empty slots; broken or released objects free space for replacements.
These are thirteen additional spells in total. The original game's other spells remain available. Values marked as defaults can be changed by the host's configuration.
Merchant, progression and nights
- Spend team gold on your own health, speed, inventory, stamina and shield upgrades.
- Choose one class: Mage, Scout, Heavyweight or Scavenger. Each offers a different combination of benefits and trade-offs. Class selection and reset are in the Classes tab.
- Wands can have fourteen positive or negative properties. Reforging changes a compatible property on that particular wand.
- Expensive wands are rarer in free loot. Rejected wand drops are replaced with an eligible wand rather than leaving an empty crate.
- Enemy spawning and score progression scale as quotas advance. The Scale Boost rules are integrated; do not run a separate copy of that plugin alongside this mod.
- Special nights default to a 60% chance: fog, unstable magic, heavy gravity, a fish apocalypse or a hunt. Heavy Gravity has a lower default weight, and consecutive special types do not repeat while another enabled type is available.
- Larger team purchases can require a vote. Waiting for that vote is expected behaviour.
Changes in 1.0.0 Pre-release
- Added the Reality Staff and its four gravity, transformation, portal and return-point spells.
- Reworked Frost and Fortune into their current three-spell sets; kept three extra spells for original wands.
- Fixed Multiplier target handling, limited each source to one multiplication and restored differentiated copy rewards: quarter score for props, full reward for monsters.
- Improved score-multiplier feedback and stopped multiplier labels from overlapping.
- Fixed rejected wand loot leaving empty crates.
- Restored the earlier merchant visual style, improved the Classes tab and changed the purchased-class label to Class already chosen.
- Corrected extra inventory slot numbers and added their outlines.
- Improved ice effects and matched extra-spell charge bars to their original wand's native UI palette.
- Improved ORBIT: more objects, a lower flight height and continuous collection into available slots.
- Increased default special-night frequency, reduced Heavy Gravity's selection weight and avoided consecutive repeats where possible.
- Preserved native grimoire interaction and PS/Xbox support. Removed obsolete custom spellbook/controller menu paths, improved duplicate-device handling and refreshed stale native controller hints.
- Added exact purchase and sale prices in coins for each item. Every upgrade level and class also has its own configurable purchase price. Existing settings are preserved.
- Switched to a neutral plugin/config identity and removed personal author identifiers from the current release.
- Replaced the package's Fortune wand icon with the Frost Staff icon.
Controls and languages
- F4 near the merchant — open the Expanded shop.
- D-pad Up + A / Cross near the merchant — open the Expanded shop with a controller.
- Grimoire — use the original game's interaction. The mod does not add an F5 spellbook binding.
Russian and English UI are supported. Spoken commands follow the spell language selected in the game; read the incantations in the native grimoire. Normal gameplay controls and controller button icons remain the game's responsibility.
Multiplayer warning
Multiplayer, late joining and reconnecting have not received complete test coverage. A working local session does not guarantee that every host/client combination is free of bugs. Possible issues to watch for include:
- Effects not matching between players: freeze/thaw, ice surfaces, gravity fields, transformations or portal state may appear late or disagree, especially after joining or reconnecting.
- Physics or NPC problems: portal travel, upward gravity, copied monsters and many moving props may produce rubber-banding, collision differences, stuck navigation or client-only visual errors.
- Merchant/progression differences: simultaneous purchases, team votes, class changes, shield values or extra inventory slots may fail to update consistently for every player.
- Score and reward mismatches: a popup or a client's displayed score may disagree with the host, including rewards from copied props or monsters.
- State after death, scene changes or disconnects: held wands, wand properties, inventory or temporary effects may fail to restore or clear correctly.
- Missing custom content or performance drops: late joiners may see missing staff/book information or effects; crowded physics scenes may perform differently for the host and clients.
These are possible failure areas requiring more testing, not promises that they occur in every session.
Please report multiplayer bugs rather than assuming they are normal.

For a useful report, include:
- The exact mod version, game version and other installed mods.
- Whether you were the host or a client, how many players were present, and whether anyone joined late or reconnected.
- The wand/spell or shop action involved, what you expected and what actually happened, plus steps to reproduce it.
BepInEx/LogOutput.logfrom the host and the affected client if possible; screenshots or a short recording also help.

Installation and updating
Requires BepInEx 5. The Thunderstore package declares BepInEx-BepInExPack-5.4.2305 as its dependency.
- Mod manager: import or install the supplied Thunderstore ZIP and use the same package version for the whole group.
- Manual: close the game and place the complete
YAPYAPExpandedruntime folder underBepInEx/plugins. Keep itsyapyapexpandedresource bundle, iconsandVisualAssetsfolders besideYAPYAPExpanded.dll. - When switching from a manual installation to a mod-manager profile, remove the extra active copy of the plugin. Do not load two copies of Expanded or a separate Scale Boost plugin.
- Preserve your saves and CFG. Upgrade the runtime files together; do not mix files from different releases.
Configuration is in BepInEx/config/com.yapyapexpanded.mod.cfg. A previous Expanded CFG is migrated when appropriate; existing settings are retained. Item prices appear as actual coin amounts under ItemPrices.<ID> after their content loads, with ItemName, PurchasePrice and SellPrice. Edit with the game closed and restart. Host settings are synchronized without replacing guests' local settings files.
The package is labelled 1.0.0 — Pre-release. Thunderstore's technical manifest version is 1.0.0; its version field does not support a pre-release suffix.
