Darkness Expansion

The Darkness Invades!

A mod with new content including an elite type, shrine, artifact, and items.

All content is implemented through custom mechanics.

Configs

The configs provide support for editing almost every value.

Shrines

Darkness Potential

Three darkness potentials will always spawn when a darkness shrine spawns. Interacting with them allows you to sacrifice an item to the darkness.

Shrine of Darkness

After one item has been sacrificed to a darkness potential, the shrine of darkness may be activated to summon a dark elite type boss. This boss gains all of the items that were sacrificed to the shrine. Defeating the boss will cause the shrine to drop upgraded versions of all of the items sacrificed:

White -> Green -> Yellow -> Red -> 5 Whites

Enemies have a chance to spawn as a darkness elite, depending on the darkness level. The darkness level is increased by the following:

Holding a Dark Item

Having the Artifact of Darkness Enabled

Elite Features

Darkness elites will have increased health and damage, based on the darkness level. They will also gain a random dark item.

Artifact of Darkness

The artifact of darkness increases the darkness level by 1 as well as starts the players with a random dark item.

Creating a Darkness Items

Darkness items can be gained through the following sources:

Starting with the artifact of darkness

Offering each Darkness Potential the same yellow item will yield a dark item drop instead of 3 reds.

Darkness Item Effects

Each darkness item has an upgraded effect of the yellow item they are upgraded from. They also each scale a different stat based on the number of darkness elites killed.

Titanic Boulder Titanic Knurl Increases health and regen. Upon taking damage, chance to summon a fist. Fist damage scales with health. Health and Regen
Dark Shatterspleen Shatterspleen All hits apply bleed, and crits apply extra. Bleeding enemies explode, dealing damage to nearby enemies. Crit Damage
King's Gland Queen's Gland Summon a beetle guard which applies random debuffs on hit. Allies are affected by your attack speed. Attack Speed
Sympathy Cores Solus Cores Summon probes. All allies gain stats per ally on your team. Ally Stats
Omega Loop Genesis Loop Upon reaching low health, explode in an area. Upon using your secondary, release a ball of lightning. Cooldown Reduction
Large Disciple Little Disciple Fire 3 tracking wisps while sprinting. (Damage x3, Proc Coeffecient x3) Fire rate scales with move speed. Move Speed
Polished Urn Mired Urn Tether yourself to nearby enemies, dealing bonus damage and healing for a portion of the damage dealt. Healing Mult
Dark Planula Planula Heal from incoming damage and ignite nearby enemies. Armor
Charged Claw Charged Perforator Chance on hit to summon a lightning storm. Damage
Molten Claw Molten Perforator Chance on hit to summon fireballs, which scale twice on damage. Base Damage
Defense Cell Defense Nucleus Upon killing an elite, gain an alpha construct that attaches to you and fires at enemies you fire at. Luck
Dark Pearl Pearl Increase Health by 50% Health
