Railgunner Rebloated
This is an experimental mod that nerfs Railgunner and aims to rework her gameplay to be less one-dimensional.
This is the opposite of DebloatedSeeker.
- DebloatedSeeker is focused around stripping unnecessary mechanics while keeping her performance in-line with Vanilla standards, and I would generally feel comfortable slotting it into any pack.
- RailgunnerRebloated is focused around adding more mechanics and generally nerfing Railgunner's performance. It's an experimental mod, and whether or not I'd run it depends on who I'm playing with and whether or not they like Railgunner as-is.
Any similarities to a certain character are purely coincidental.
Background
When Railgunner was first announced in the days leading up to SotV, her kit was advertised as having the following unique aspects:
- A gun that can switch between close-range autotargeting and a sniper mode.
- The risk of her skills getting disabled when her backpack goes Offline after using a Supercharged Railgun shot.
However, in practice, she simply shoots things repeatedely while exclusively using scoped shots, and never worries about her skills going Offline aside from a couple times per map when Supercharging a select few enemies.
Despite being a Sniper character in a horde shooter, she has a similar reputation to Loader where she's considered the baseline of "X character is fine as long as they're not stronger than Railgunner."
Rework Overview
-
Railgun skills (M2 and Shift) draw from a shared battery Charge pool that passively recharges. When depleted, Railgunner's railgun skills are taken Offline for 5 seconds.
- This pool is affected by cooldown items.
- M2 consumes less Charge with extra stocks.
- Default: 5 shots total, +1 shot per Backup Mag
- Alt: 10 shots total, +2 shots per Backup Mag
- Offline state duration now scales with Cooldown, instead of Attack Speed.
Scoped shots do an incredible amount of damage, so they now have a limitation on how often you can shoot them. Even with this limitation, she still has a very high damage output.
-
Railgunner's battery Charge takes 20 seconds to regen to full, but depleting it and taking her skills Offline will restore the entire meter after the 5 second skill disable is completed.
-
XQR Smart Rounds restore extra Charge on hit, allowing her to restore Charge twice as fast.
Skills getting taken Offline is a constant risk that Railgunner will need to be aware of. She can choose to alternate between scoped shots and Smart Rounds to stay in the fight, or she can intentionally deplete her Charge and go Offline to restore it faster.
-
M99 Sniper
- Damage reduced from 1000% (+500%) -> 900% (+300%)
- Pierce damage penalty reduced from 50% -> 0% (no penalty)'
- Shot radius increased from 0.2 -> 1.0
Limited M2 uses made this a necessity to prevent her from being completely overwhelmed.
-
HH44 Marksman
- Damage increased from 400% -> 500% to account for limited ammo.
-
Supercharged Railgun consumes all Charge, scaling damage off of Charge consumed.
- No longer has an increased headshot multiplier, the damage is now just built into the skill itself.
- Proc Coefficient reduced from 3 -> 1.5
-
Cryocharged Railgun consumes a fixed amount of Charge and deals fixed damage.
-
Scepter is no longer bad, and now increases damage, proc coefficient, and shot radius.
