WristHub - V1 Beta

Heads up: this is the first public beta. The main features are working, but you may still run into a weird avatar, a preview that falls back to a silhouette, or something that needs more headset tuning. I am actively improving it, and there will be more features and cleaner updates after V1.

Hey! I made WristHub because I wanted a simple way to find, download, preview, and equip BONELAB avatars without constantly leaving the game or digging through folders.

It puts an avatar library right above your wrist. You can browse everything you already have, search BONELAB mod.io, download new avatar packs, preview compatible avatars in 3D, and equip them from the same menu.

Quick tutorial

  1. Install WristHub and launch BONELAB.
  2. Look directly at your left wrist and keep looking for about 1.5 seconds.
  3. A cyan progress circle will fill up, followed by a PUSH ME button.
  4. Touch PUSH ME with your fingertip or controller tip.
  5. Choose Avatars to browse your library, or Search Avatars to look for something new.
  6. Use All Avatars to scroll through everything, or Groups to browse by downloaded mod pack.
  7. To search, touch the search field, type with the tablet keyboard, and press Search. WristHub searches your installed avatars and the BONELAB avatar section of mod.io automatically.
  8. If you do not own a result yet, press Download and watch the live progress bar. WristHub will open the downloaded pack when it is ready; it will never equip something automatically.
  9. Press Equip, or grip/pinch a working 3D preview, pull it toward your chest, and release it to equip.
  10. Press the X to close the menu. Look away from your wrist before activating it again.

The left wrist is the default. You can switch to the right wrist, change the UI scale, reduce motion, choose the starting library view, or recenter everything from Options.

What is included in V1

  • A physical wrist launcher with gaze progress and fingertip controls.
  • All-avatar and mod-pack group browsing.
  • Zero-setup BONELAB avatar search; players do not need to enter an API key.
  • Safe mod.io downloads with progress, retry, cancel, platform checks, archive validation, and integrity checking.
  • One focused avatar view with artwork, details, height, and compatible 3D previews.
  • Direct Equip and grip/pinch-to-chest equipping.
  • Pack deletion with recoverable trash protection.
  • Remembered browser settings and avatar persistence across compatible scene changes.
  • LabFusion-aware avatar swapping and local wrist controls.

Beta notes

This is V1, so I would rather be honest than pretend every community avatar is built perfectly. Some avatars have unusual rigs, missing materials, huge effects, or broken preview information. WristHub contains those previews and uses a safe fallback when it cannot build a reliable 3D model. The normal Equip button remains available.

The online catalog is also new. Search results are cached and rate-limited so everyone can use it without setup. Advanced users can optionally save a personal read-only mod.io key in UserData/WristHub/modio-api-key.txt as an automatic backup, but regular players do not need one.

If something feels off, send the newest file from BONELAB/MelonLoader/Logs along with a short explanation of what you were doing. Please never post an API key.

Fusion

WristHub does not require LabFusion. When Fusion is installed, WristHub keeps its interface local and uses the compatible avatar-swap route when available. Other players still need Fusion's custom-avatar downloading enabled to see avatar content they do not already have.

Updating from BoneHub

WristHub copies compatible settings, download history, and avatar history from the old UserData/BoneHub folder on first launch. Remove BoneHub.dll and BoneHub.Core.dll before manually installing WristHub; do not load both versions together.

Manual installation

  1. Install MelonLoader and BoneLib for the current BONELAB patch.
  2. Copy WristHub.dll and WristHub.Core.dll into BONELAB/Mods.
  3. Remove the two old BoneHub DLLs if they are present.
  4. Launch BONELAB and follow the wrist tutorial above.

Thanks for trying the first beta. This is only the start - I have more ideas for the wrist hub, better previews, smoother controls, and more useful tools in future updates. Have fun with it.
