How to Check your H3VR Version

If you've never touched the Betas tab of the H3VR settings in Steam, then you're on Main branch. As of Dec 2025, this is the same as build 119.

To check which branch you're using or to change it, follow these steps:

1. In Steam, go to your game library (Menu > Library > Home).
2. Search for "hot dogs".
3. Right-click on "Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades" and select Properties.
4. On the left, select Betas.
5. Under Beta Participation, select the branch you'd like to use:
   • None: Main branch
   • alpha - Mod Safe: Latest branch that is guaranteed to be compatible with mods
   • experimental - NOT MOD SAFE!!!: Branch with latest changes. Some mods may break.
   • update119 - U119legacy: Last branch before the push to 1.0 that was mod safe.
   • update119p5 - U119p5legacy: I don't recommend using this. It has incompatible changes between 119 and experimental.
6. Wait for Steam to update the game.

Note that some branches may be equivalent to each other, so Steam won't need to update the files. For example, "None" and "update119" are currently the same.
