SeagullDigestion
Seagulls actually eat the food they steal and leave a poop behind. Sells for a randomised price, and eating it costs you.Seagull Digestion
Seagulls that steal your food now actually eat it. After a random delay the stolen item turns into a poop: randomised sell price, and a bad idea to eat.
- Host-authoritative, matching how the game already simulates birds.
- The timer cancels if you shoot the bird or grab the fish back.
- Seagulls ignore poop, and rest for a while after a meal.
- Procedurally generated poop mesh, no asset bundle.
- Poop syncs to every client and survives save/reload.
Eating it
The hunger cost is paid out of your stomach first. Whatever your stomach cannot cover is dealt as direct damage, so eating poop on an empty stomach takes the full hit to your health. Poison lands either way, exactly like raw pufferfish.
With HungerCost = 25:
| Fullness before | Fullness after | Damage |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | 75 | 0 |
| 25 | 0 | 0 |
| 10 | 0 | 15 |
| 0 | 0 | 25 |
Food-effect mods are blocked from rewarding you for it. With Fish Effects installed, poop grants no timed effect, no Drip luck, and no effect line on the inspection card. Those are ordinary Harmony patches applied from this mod; no other mod's files are touched, and they are skipped when the mod is absent.
Settings

Changes apply immediately.
| Setting | Default | What |
|---|---|---|
| Enabled | true | Master switch |
| OnlyFish | false | Restrict digestion to fish |
| NeverDigest | (empty) | Comma separated prefab names, display names, or item ids that are never digested, even if OnlyFish is off |
| MinSeconds / MaxSeconds | 8 / 25 | Random hold time before eating |
| CooldownAfterEating | 30 | Seconds a seagull refuses to hunt after a meal. 0 = none, a huge value = never again |
| MinWorth / MaxWorth | -60 / 20 | Sell price is rolled in this range, either end negative or positive |
| ClampBalance | true | Hold the balance between $0 and the $2,147,483,647 limit. Leave it on — see 1.5.1 below |
| HungerCost | 25 | Fullness a mouthful costs |
| DamageOnEmptyStomach | true | Unpayable fullness becomes direct damage |
| Poison | true | Apply the game's own poison |
| BlockOtherFoodEffects | true | Deny poop any positive effect from food-effect mods |
| DropNearPlayer | true | Teleport the poop near a player instead of dropping wherever the bird is flying |
| TargetVictim | true | Aim for the robbed player first, falling back to whoever is nearest the bird |
| DropRadius | 6 | Random horizontal spread from the target player, in metres |
| DropHeight | 6 | Height above the target it drops from before gravity finishes the job, in metres |
| Name | Seagull Poop | Display name |
| ReplaceModel | true | Procedural poop mesh; off = original model, recoloured |
| Scale | 1.0 | Size multiplier, relative to the item the poop replaced |
| Colour | 4A2E17 | RRGGBB hex |
| Cookness | 0.85 | Feeds the game's own cookness shader input |
| PlaySound | true | Squawk on digestion |
| SwapToRealItem | true | Digest a weapon or tool by replacing it with a fresh ordinary item rather than disguising it, so the poop was never a weapon. Fish are always transformed in place; quest and boss items are never swapped |
| ChassisItem | (empty) | Which item the replacement is built from. Empty picks the lowest numbered ordinary fish automatically and logs the choice |
| DisarmWeapons | true | Safety net for anything still transformed in place: it stops being a weapon, so no firing, reloading, aiming or swinging, and its HUD dot goes from weapon orange to ordinary white |
Multiplayer
The host needs the mod. Clients without it lose the money either way, but will still see the original fish model.
Changelog
See CHANGELOG.md, or the Changelog tab on the Thunderstore page.
Most recent: 1.7.1 fixes poop dropping at the world origin — hundreds of metres out in open water — instead of next to you, and folds in 1.7.0's inert digested weapons.
