Shadowman
Replaces Stalker audio with smoothed proximity, cave reverb, wall occlusion, and cross-floor fading.Shadowman
Replaces the Stalker (ManInShadow) whisper layer with a custom looping
18-second sound while preserving its movement, attack, teleport, and hit audio.
When player damage kills the Stalker, the mod also plays the supplied recording
from 54 seconds through its end at the creature's last position. Cleanup and
fear despawns do not activate the death sound.
The replacement uses the game's FMOD engine as positional 3D audio and follows each Stalker independently. It keeps its close-up volume, falls off rapidly with distance, and reaches silence at the configured maximum range. A subtle configurable echo is applied. Install this mod on every client who should hear it.
Configuration is generated at
BepInEx/config/com.bwadd.lastpirates.shadowman.cfg and controls volume plus
minimum and maximum audible distance, death-sound volume, and echo wet level.
Set EchoWetLevel to -80 to disable the echo.
The default whisper volume is 0.5 and the maximum audible distance is 25 metres.
The current tuning plays at 85% speed. FMOD SFX Reverb is comparatively
dry nearby, then becomes dramatically wetter, longer, denser, and darker toward
the edge of the audible range using a quadratic distance curve to create a
large cave or distant-room effect.
Vertical separation fades smoothly between four and six metres to prevent cross-floor leakage. On the same floor, the game's own obstacle layers smoothly reduce blocked audio toward 16%, darken it with a strong high-frequency cut, and push it toward the wetter reverb curve. Calculations target the Stalker's vision/head point and use FMOD's listener position. Death audio receives the same treatment for its complete playback. Both replacement sounds follow the game's Effects/SFX and master volume.
Only redistribute the included recording if you have permission to do so.
