README

ButteRyBalance

A collection of rebalances for several aspects of the game. Everyone must install, but it is fully configurable and fully networked - the host controls the session's config.

Updating settings in realtime (for example, using LethalConfig) should be supported, but for best results, the host can reboot their game after setting up their config.

Be wary of conflicts with other mods, since this makes a lot of changes across the board. The config has been set up so that disabling individual features should prevent any conflicts with mods that do similar things.

A lot more is planned for the near future! This is a very early release version.

List of Changes

Enemies

Barber
  • Dynamic Spawn Settings - Adjusts Barber spawn rates depending on interior.
    • In factory and manor, Barbers will spawn in pairs, up to a maximum of 8.
    • In mineshaft, only one Barber will be allowed to spawn.
    • This setting will not work without both Barber Fixes and Vent Spawn Fix installed.
    • "ApplySpawningSettings" should be disabled in the Barber Fixes config to avoid overwrite.
Butler
  • Manor Increased Chance - Butlers have an increased chance to spawn in manor interiors.
  • Stealth Stab - Restored "stealth stab" behavior from early v50 betas.
    • If you bump into a butler in vanilla, it has a 5% chance to "berserk" for 3 seconds, which is just enough time to kill a player if they don't run away.
    • With this setting enabled, butlers will only berserk if the player that bumped them is alone.
    • If the 5% chance succeeds, the offending player will be stabbed a single time, but the butler will not reveal itself to the party.
  • Slow Attacks - Butlers swing their knife slower than usual if they have not been damaged before.
    • This will also increase their HP in singleplayer from 2 to 3, to highlight this change.
  • Randomize Knife Price - The kitchen knife has unused values for randomization, ranging from $28 to $83.
    • On average, they will be more valuable than vanilla (always $35)
Coil-head
  • Stuns Reset - Coil-heads will enter their recharge state when they are hit by a stun grenade, homemade flashbang, or radar booster flash.
Jester
  • Walk-Through - When the Jester is winding, you will be allowed to walk through it, similar to recharging Coil-heads.
  • Long Cooldown - The Jester will (on average) spend slightly longer following a player before it begins winding.
    • This will not apply in a lobby with 5+ players.
Maneater
  • Limit Growth - Sharply reduce (or prevent entirely) the Maneater's tendency to transform if it hasn't encountered players before.
    • The Maneater will no longer cry at all if no players have entered the building yet, which prevents transformation completely.
    • Its "growth meter" will no longer instantly skip forward ~10 seconds when being hit by a landmine or spike trap, unless the Maneater has encountered at least one player before.
    • The growth meter will increase slightly slower than usual, if a player is holding the Maneater while it's crying.
  • Metabolism - The Maneater's growth meter will have its rate-of-increase permanently reduced after it eats scrap.
    • After eating one scrap, it will increase at 75% of the normal rate.
    • After eating two or more scrap, it will increase half as fast.
  • Limit Turn Speed - Adult Maneaters have a harder time following players around sharp corners (like factory stair tiles) during a lunge.
    • This only applies if the Maneater is inside the building.

Moons

Kill Switch - A quick and easy way to disable all other moon settings, if you are using something like LethalLevelLoader to configure them instead. All other settings in this section will be ignored if this is enabled!

Dine
  • Reduce Butlers - Reduce the chance that spawning enemies will be Butlers.
    • If you also use the "Manor Increased Chance" setting for the Butlers, their spawn rate will be almost unchanged in Dine manors.
    • This is nice to avoid Butlers overpopulating Dineshafts (😉), since they are difficult to counterplay in the caverns.

Items

Kitchen knife
  • Short Cooldown - The knife will deal damage faster. (~16% increase in DPS)
  • Auto-Swing - Client-side. Holding the attack button automatically swings the knife.
    • After dealing damage, the next swing will be delayed, to avoid wasting damage from non-registering hits.
