About

This Modpack aims maintain the horror tone and gameplay of the original release while playing with a large group or streaming - for that reason, any "quality of life" changes are not ones which make the game more easy: You'll find no extra inventory slots or dedicated torch buttons here.

As it evolved, it has become more ridiculous: You will start on a giant ship with multiple floors. Players can put on outrageous character models or costumes and do emote dances while gambling in the casino. But the founding principle remains: This is a horror game. Scary locations. Strange enemies. Zombies that are extremely good at pretending to be your friends. A game engine that hates you.

#Streamers Chat can vote on events at each Moon: Just add your Twitch username on the front screen. Perhaps they'll give you 200 credits. Perhaps they'll spawn 12 Loot Bugs.

For even more bullying this pack includes the 'Crowd Control' mod. Follow its instruction if you wish to have a Twitch overlay from which viewers can use channel points or bits to trigger events that help and hinder, from teleportation to spawning monsters.

VR

VR and flatscreen scavengers can play together seamlessly: Mods have been chosen which amplify the strange and otherworldly experience of LCVR. For example, someone can shoot you with the shrink-ray, pick you up, and you will have the VR experience of being 4" tall in the palm of another player's hand.

VR players can't trigger emotes, but hey, you can dance with your real body.

What's New?

Some behaviours have changed to add more suspense and horror. Many enemies have new, surprise abilities, and they do not like you. There are new enemies and rare events. When spectating you can press 'E' to monitor the enemies, and use push-to-talk to speak through them. This is especially good for haunting your own 'zombie', and convincing others to approach.

Housekeeping

If you have limited RAM, it is recommended to close your mod manager after launching the game. This is because apps like r2 and Overwolf use several hundred megabytes.

If you run into compatibility problems you may simply need to delete the entire profile and download + update all the mods again. This is because new Moon and Monster mods are frequently swapped* in, but Modpack updates can not delete mods, so deprecated ones will persist until you manually erase them.

*This is done because SCOTCHCORE aims to stay within 8GB of RAM, which necessitates removing content on occasion to make room for new experiences. You've got to keep your crew on their toes.
