CancelJoiningLobby

CancelJoiningLobby is a small client-side Lethal Company v81 quality-of-life mod that lets you cancel a server connection attempt while the game is still trying to reach the selected server instead of waiting for the normal connection timeout.

The problem

Sometimes Steam lobby access succeeds even though the actual Lethal Company server behind that lobby cannot be reached. When that happens, the game can leave you sitting on the loading screen until the connection attempt eventually times out and returns an error.

CancelJoiningLobby adds a way to back out during that server-contact wait instead of forcing you to wait for the timeout.

When Cancel is available

The cancel option exists only while the game is actively trying to reach the selected Lethal Company server.

• The normal server-information and Steam lobby-access steps still happen first.
• When the game starts contacting the actual server, [ Cancel ] appears.
• If the server is reached, [ Cancel ] disappears immediately and the normal join process continues.
• If the server cannot be reached, click [ Cancel ] or press Esc to back out without waiting for the normal timeout.

What it does

• Adds [ Cancel ] during the server-contact stage of joining.
• Uses the same orange-highlight/black-text hover treatment as the vanilla menu buttons.
• Lets you cancel with either the mouse or Esc.
• Leaves the current Steam lobby when you cancel.
• Resets the pending Lethal Company join state and shuts down the pending Netcode client connection.
• Restores the server browser after shutdown completes.
• Requests a fresh server list after returning to the browser.

What it does not change

• It does not add cancellation to the earlier Steam lobby-access step.
• It does not allow cancellation after the server has been reached and the normal join handshake has started.
• It does not bypass kicks, version checks, connection approval, or other server responses.
• It does not change the host or server connection rules.
• It does not make an unreachable server reachable.

Compatibility

• Client-side only. Only the player who wants the cancel option needs the mod.
• Targets Lethal Company v81.

Installation

Install with Thunderstore Mod Manager/r2modman, or place the DLL in BepInEx/plugins.
