BlueSagePatched PlayerLimitLift
Host-only On-Together lobby patch: up to 128 joinable slots plus host, shift-click sizing, large-lobby chat, and optional QoL companion notes.BlueSage PlayerLimitLift
A host-only large-lobby patch for On-Together.
Current release: v1.1.6.
Testing update — On-Together build 24259292.
1.1.6keeps the proven Windows lobby and large-chat behavior from public1.1.5, while also recognizing the extensionlessOn-Togetherdesktop process used by macOS/Linux loaders. Only the host installs PlayerLimitLift; ordinary joining players still do not need it. Windows multiplayer testing is the final release gate, and macOS/Linux remain loader-eligible but runtime-unverified. If a host sees a candidate-specific capacity or above-15 chat problem, preserveBepInEx/LogOutput.logand return to public1.1.5after preserving the evidence.
This lets a lobby host raise the native joinable-player setting above 16, up to 128 joinable slots plus the host. The game stores and displays that setting separately from the host-inclusive PurrLobby room limit.
It pairs nicely with BlueSage QoL Tweaks - Beta, but does not require it. PlayerLimitLift is the host-only big-lobby patch; QoL Tweaks is the optional players-and-hosts toolkit for longer text fields, style/status helpers, Focus Anywhere, player-panel helpers, sweep guardrails, reconnect guard, and host-health checks. When both are loaded, QoL Host Health can show the host's PlayerLimit cap/default/chat-relay state in diagnostics.
For this release candidate, the matching optional companion is BlueSage QoL Tweaks - Beta v0.2.3. Each mod remains standalone; regular joining players still do not need PlayerLimitLift.
The above-15 chat relay preserves the original remote sender metadata, so compatible QoL companions keep a remote slash message as ordinary remote chat instead of reclassifying it as a command typed locally by the host.
Should I Use This?
Use this mod if you are the person hosting a bigger On-Together lobby.
You probably want this if:
- You host lobbies with more than 16 players.
- You used
officerballs PlayerLimitLiftbefore and want a version for the latest On-Together update. - You want shift-click lobby sizing and a simple config file for bigger cozy coworking rooms.
You probably do not need this if:
- You are only joining someone else's lobby.
- You are not hosting large lobbies.
- You are only trying to fix
NickName1showing in chat on your own client.
Only the HOST needs BlueSage PlayerLimitLift.
Players do not need to install this mod to join a larger lobby.
Players who want BlueSage's chat/ID/style/focus/reconnect QoL features can install BlueSage QoL Tweaks - Beta separately.
If You See NickName1 In Chat
If you are a player and chat names show up as NickName1, you probably still have the old officerballs PlayerLimitLift mod installed or enabled.
Fix:
- Disable or remove old
officerballs PlayerLimitLift. - Restart On-Together.
- Join the lobby again.
You do not need BlueSage PlayerLimitLift unless you also host lobbies.
What It Does
- Lets the host set up to 128 joinable slots; On-Together adds the host when it creates the PurrLobby room.
- Keeps the lobby size selector working past 16.
- Lets the host shift-click to change lobby size faster.
- Adds a config file after first launch.
- Keeps large-lobby hosting working after the latest On-Together update.
- Preserves the game's voice-era public/request/voice lobby selections; PlayerLimitLift changes only the capacity and modded tag.
- Preserves the field-proven 1.1.1 large-lobby chat relay for this maintenance release; the experimental generated-handler-only alternative remains benched pending multiplayer proof.
- Warns in the BepInEx console if another PlayerLimit-style mod is loaded or if config values were clamped to safe bounds.
Install With A Mod Manager
For hosts:
- Disable or uninstall old
officerballs PlayerLimitLift. - Install
BlueSage PlayerLimitLift. - Start On-Together once so the config file is created.
- Host your lobby and pick the player limit you want.
For players:
You do not need this mod unless you also host lobbies.
If you have old officerballs PlayerLimitLift installed and see NickName1, remove the old mod and restart.
Manual Install
For hosts:
- Install BepInEx for On-Together.
- Remove old
officerballs.PlayerLimitLift.dllif you have it. - Put
BlueSagePatched_PlayerLimitLift.dllin yourBepInEx/pluginsfolder. - Start On-Together once so the config file is created.
- Host your lobby.
For players:
Do not manually install this unless you also host. If you see NickName1, remove old officerballs PlayerLimitLift from your own BepInEx/plugins folder instead.
Windows Runtime Proof And macOS/Linux Loader Eligibility
v1.1.6 keeps exactly one existing OnTogether.exe process filter for Windows and adds exactly one extensionless, hyphenated On-Together process name for the macOS/Linux Unity player. This is additive: the Windows loader still matches the same executable it matched before.
Windows is the runtime-green lane: the published 1.1.5 behavior has live evidence, while these exact 1.1.6 candidate bytes still require the named UAT before promotion. macOS and Linux are loader-eligible but runtime-unverified. Passing the BepInEx process filter proves only that the managed plugin is eligible to start; it does not prove hosting, chat, PurrNet, Steam, voice, or Unity behavior on either platform. This is desktop compatibility, not iPhone or iPad support.
How To Use It
The host uses the normal lobby size controls.
- Click to change lobby size by 1.
- Shift+click to jump by the configured amount.
- Default shift-click jump:
16. - Default lobby size:
16. - Default maximum lobby size:
128.
After launching once, the config file appears here:
BepInEx/config/com.bluesage.ontogether.playerlimitlift.cfg
Startup Checks
When the host launches the game, BlueSage PlayerLimitLift writes a short BepInEx console note if:
- old
officerballs PlayerLimitLiftappears loaded; - another PlayerLimit-style mod appears loaded;
DefaultLobbySize,MaxLobbySize, orShiftSkipRatehad to be clamped.
Disabled backup files are not the problem. These checks are about mods BepInEx actually sees during startup.
Config Settings
DefaultLobbySize
Lobby size shown when the host opens the game. Default: 16.
MaxLobbySize
Highest lobby size allowed by this mod. Default: 128.
ShiftSkipRate
How much shift-click changes the lobby size by. Default: 16.
EnableChatRelayPatch
Host-side compatibility patch for large-lobby chat behavior. Leave this on unless you are testing. Default: true.
This setting does not alter voice chat. On-Together's own voice selection and Vivox behavior remain game-owned.
Current-Build Compatibility
v1.1.6 is statically rebased against On-Together build 24259292 / Unity 6000.0.60f1, with runtime behavior pinned to the published 1.1.5 baseline.
- Lobby capacity remains the selected player value plus the host, matching the game's
countmetadata and PurrLobby room limit. - The player-panel title continues to show authoritative PurrLobby membership over the joinable-player maximum (for example,
13/89). - Public/private, request-to-join, and voice-enabled/disabled metadata remain controlled by the native game UI.
- The large-lobby chat workaround preserves the field-proven dispatcher and remote sender metadata, but now resolves the July 17 five-argument
AddMessageUIcontract exactly and passessendByPlayer=truefor the sender's local row. If a future game update moves either required chat signature, the relay stands down and vanilla handles chat instead of throwing after a message has already transmitted.

Optional BlueSage Companion
BlueSage QoL Tweaks - Beta is a separate optional package for general player and host quality-of-life features. It is not required for larger lobbies.
