Aetherial Endeavors Fixes

Bug fixes for the Aetherial Endeavors modpack for Outward Definitive Edition.

This mod is already included in the pack. Update it through r2modman and launch the game normally. There are no settings to change. For co-op, everyone should use the same version.

What it fixes

  • Co-op gathering errors and requests to unavailable interactions.
  • Quick-slot loading errors caused by saved slots outside the current hotbar range. Valid assignments continue loading.
  • A co-op world-data timeout that could stop advancing while the game is paused. The normal 30-second timeout now uses real time, with diagnostics for the request and reply.
  • Trainer dialogue and animation problems, including Leo, and conflicting interactions between modded trainers.
  • A Monsoon crash caused by Crusader's NPC setup running Unity calls on a background thread. Delayed NPC setup and animation callbacks now run on the main thread and expire when their scene unloads.
  • Banker conversations starting too early or restarting, and missing collision on the banker.
  • Errors when loading areas, viewing enchantments and picking up certain weapons.
  • Damage and impact preview errors, including Fulmination and Molepig Sigh descriptions.
  • Broken skills, status effects and cures across several of the pack's mods.
  • Mendicants' Perfect Self hunger reduction and Clarity mana-cost reduction.
  • Experimental Jinx compatibility between Mendicants, NPC Weapons and Classfixes Part 3.
  • Skill definition failures caused by Runic Barrier compatibility building a cached XML reader before later plugin assemblies load.
  • Runic Barrier compatibility with the supported Classfixes Part 2 and Supportive Rune Sage definitions. The barrier survives either rune definition loading last, including its base and amplified raise/dismiss actions. Existing rune effects and costs stay unchanged.
  • Runic Barrier's visual setup running before SideLoader registers its statuses, with support for Runic Barrier 1.0.0 and 1.0.1.
  • False unsupported-file warnings for five verified Palladium Knuckles, Heal Self and Conjure definitions. These definitions are recognized without rewriting them.
  • A missing poison-arrow recipe drop in DLC Arrows outside of Caldera.
  • Problems with runic weapons, travel potions, item labels and some item appearances.
  • Conflicts between Champions of Elatt and NPC Weapons that prevent certain weapon appearances from loading.
  • Some shadow and sound errors while Champions of Elatt loads areas, with support for versions 1.0.5 and 1.1.0.
  • Shader warnings caused by unused images in Champions equipment folders.
  • A missing corruption visual used by Champions of Elatt.
  • A lantern error when leaving an area or returning to the menu.
  • Misleading Champions audio teardown errors during loading and application exit. Unexpected audio-manager loss during gameplay still reports an error.

Each update includes the earlier fixes. See the changelog for what's new.

Experimental

Version 0.1.21 adds loading guards and Runic Barrier 1.0.1 support. Restart both games completely after updating for co-op. The earlier fix for premature XML reader caching is retained. Automated tests verify the quick-slot correction and the timeout progressing with a paused game clock; the reported co-op join failure still requires a matched-profile retest with the actual host's log.

Runic Barrier compatibility is retained. Cast Dez then Shim to raise or dismiss the barrier. This supports Runic Barrier 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 with Classfixes Part 2 1.0.8 and Supportive Rune Sage EN 1.0.2. Automated load-order and regression checks passed; damage sharing, low-mana collapse and matched-profile co-op still need a gameplay test.

The previous Crusader/Monsoon scheduling fix is retained. The supplied crash trace identifies a Unity object search from Crusader's delayed NPC setup on a thread-pool worker. The scheduling fix passed automated checks but still needs an in-game test: enter and leave Monsoon repeatedly, talk to Crusader's NPCs, and repeat in co-op. It supports both known NPC helper files included by the pack. Other causes of crashes, NPC T-posing and teleporting, other Mendicants interactions, and some sound and enemy-placement warnings remain under investigation.

The patch repairs bugs without rebalancing the pack. It does not edit your saves or change your settings.

Supported files are backed up before being repaired. If you remove this patch and want to undo its repairs, disable it first, then reinstall the affected mods through r2modman.
