Journal Notebook

Adds a notebook to your Journal tab. Jot down notes, to-dos, or anything else.

Feedback

This mod is in early development. I have tested it for singleplayer and I am working on the multiplayer. Once the mod seems to run without issues in multiplayer I will push it to version 1.0.0 (and beyond).

If you want to send me feedback, feel free to drop by Outward's Modding Discord server, or the official Outward Discord. On the Outward Modding Discord server I have my own workshop channel, johbenji-workshop, so that's probably the best place to have a conversation. I also have a YouTube channel if you want to get in contact there (https://www.youtube.com/@JohBenji).

Hope you enjoy! :D

Information

I have added a notebook to your Journal tab. Here are some features:

  • The notebook has autosaving.
  • The interface has some decoration that corresponds with the region you are in.
  • The interface has a day counter.
  • Pressing the ESC key while writing will deactivate the input panel.
    • Pressing the ESC key again will close the interface as usual.

Patch notes

  • 0.6.0 Some bug fixes:
    • Stop the interface from automatically selecting all the text when it opens.
    • Attempting fixes for multiplayer functionality:
      • Saving for non-host players.
      • Restricted the scope of the code to only actively process stuff for the player who has the mod. (To avoid one player overwriting the journal of the other player).
    • Adding option to log the state of the panel and managers in the Outward Config Manager. (By default turned off)
  • 0.5.0 Early version: A version that is functional and tested for singleplayer use. There might still be bugs.
    • A major part of this version is to allow me to more easily test the online multiplayer functionality.
