This mods was confirmed to work with the (at that time) current base game (Outward Definitive Edition) at October 13, 2024.

Summary

What's the purpose of "Relic Keeper"?

  • Gives the player an opportunity to collect relics of all rarities, and channel their unique powers.

Features

The "Relic Keeper" is the closes you get to a wizard in Dungeons and Dragons. The class provides only two skills, namely Use Relic and Unleash, but the effect of those skills varies depending on the equipped relic. There are currently nine unique active relic effects, and twopassive effects. Other equipment mods, like Crusader's Equipment provides more relics with their own unique effects.

The trainer is found inside Vendavel Fortress.

Skills:

Use Relic (Cooldown: varies, Mana cost: varies, Stamina cost: varies)

  • Use unknown powers from within a relic.
  • Note that this can be learned twice. Once for 50s and once for 600s. Each instance of the skill has it's individual cooldown

Unleash (Cooldown: varies, Mana cost: varies, Stamina cost: varies)

  • Unleash unknown powers from within a relic.

Relic Lore (Passive)

  • Enables you to Use and Unleash stronger relic effects.

Relic Fundamentals (Passive)

  • Display relic information in their descriptions.Display relic information in their descriptions.

Mythic Lore (Passive)

  • Enables you to Use and Unleash mythic relic effects.Enables you to Use and Unleash mythic relic effects.

Mana Flow (Passive)

  • Decreases the mana cost of Use Relic.Decreases the mana cost of Use Relic by 30%, rounded off to the closest integer.

Arcane Influence (Passive)

  • You may benefit from passive relic effects.You may benefit from passive relic effects.

Basic Relic Left hand or Lantern

  • Use Relic: Replicate Mana Push
  • Unleash: Replicate Mana Ward
  • Arcane Influence: 20% of damage taken, before reductions, are transfered to the relic
  • Durability: 80
  • Crafted from two Petrified Wood

Gilded Relic Left hand or Lantern

  • Use Relic: Replicate Mana Push
  • Unleash: Replicate Mana Ward
  • Arcane Influence: 20% of damage taken, before reductions, are transfered to the relic
  • Durability: 200
  • Crafted from a Basic Relic and a Gold Bar

Troglodyte Staff Staff

  • Use Relic: Shoot homing projectiles that apply Confusion and Slow Down to enemies that are hit
  • Unleash: Shoot homing projectiles that heal for 30 health, apply Runic Protection, Stability Up 2, Rage Amplified and infuse weapons with Infuse Mana to allies that are hit.
  • Durability: 175

Red Lady's Dagger Dagger

  • Use Relic: Apply Chaos Imbue to the dagger
  • Unleash: Plant a Fire Sigil on the ground
  • Durability: 300

Woodoo Charm Left hand or Lantern

  • Use Relic: Melee spell that applies a random hex without sheathing the weapon
  • Unleash: Applies Curse of Vulnerability to nearby enemies
  • Arcane Influence: You can cast Torment with your weapon drawn
  • Durability: 100

Spore Shield Shield

  • Unleash: Creates a lingering cloud of spores that inflicts Plague to enemies in it
  • Durability: 150

Mushroom Shield Shield

  • Unleash: Creates a lingering cloud of spores that inflicts Plague to enemies in it
  • Durability: 85

Lantern of Souls Left hand or Lantern

  • Use Relic Shoot five soul projectiles dealing 10 ethereal damage each
  • Unleash: Relic: Release a soul from the lantern

Lightmender's Lexicon Lexicon

Effects:

Chaos Imbue (Duration: 30 seconds)

  • Adds 25% weapon damage as fire damage, as well as up to 10 scaling fire damage if you are 0% corrupted, down to 0% at 100% corrupted
  • Inflicts 49% Burning buildup to enemies on a hit
  • Causes 0.5% corruption to the player when they hit a creature

Curse of Vulnerability (Duration: 80 seconds)

  • Decreases status effect resistance by 15% for 80 seconds

    • Said alternative should be expensive to not make Internalized Lexicon redundant.
  • Skilled at Sitting

    • Enable a coop player to mimic a rest while his sorry excuse of a partner is wasting time organizing his backpack and talking to merchants.
    • Provide a ever so slightly useful alternative to just waiting when you need an important cooldown before a dangerous fight.
    • Provide an alternative to other sitting mods, that is balanced and consistent with the game design (thus ruling out "Medidation", as passive mana regen in Outward is related to sleep).
  • The Crusader

    • Enable the user to play as a holy warrior with divine magic.
    • Give the user a legit reason to sacrifice health and stamina on a melee character.
    • Enable the user to play an all out melee character without mana, while still casting a few spells.
  • Martial Artist

    • Provide some simple mechanics, locked behind basic skills, to add some depth to combat

  • Ensure that you are opted in to the default-mono branch.

  • Ensure that BepInEx is installed.

  • Make sure all dependencies are installed. The mod depends on these and will not work without them!

  • Uninstall previous versions of the mod.

  • Download "RelicKeeper.zip".

  • Move "RelicKeeper.zip" into the "Outward" game folder.

  • Right click "RelicKeeper.zip" and click "Extract Here".

Manual Uninstallation

  • Version 1.0.0 and onwards

    • Navigate to "Outward/BepInEx/plugins/".
    • Delete the "RelicKeeper" folder.
