About Baka-san's RNG Pack
Welcome to Baka-san's RNG Pack. A modpack utilizing the modding community's best mods to change R.E.P.O.'s gameplay loop into something familiar, but different.
The Taxman does not possess infinite patience, so he has given you a limited amount of time to complete your objective of repossessing valuables.
Don't worry, for the Taxman is kind, and offers you both bonus time, and bonus money should you complete an extraction with a generous amount of time remaining. But should you hit 0...

- For now, I've set the values to vanilla to make things easier, with the occasional discounts on some items depending on your RNG. Will keep adjusting as necessary!
Core Principles
Baka-san's RNG Pack contains 3 key differences that change the way you play. A couple major changes I've made include:
- ❌ Removing vanilla upgrades from the shop, and are now acquired throughout the level itself, as well as acquiring a free upgrade per level completion.
- 🛒 Pure item shop! With less money spent on upgrades, shops are now adjusted accordingly. Money is still important!
- ⏰ Time IS money. The taxman doesn't like wasting either, so you'll have to go through the levels under time pressure!
Mod Details - Foundational
The following mods make this unique loop possible:
- Redfops' UpgradeEveryRound lets you choose one vanilla upgrade between 3 choices every level, So no two (or three) choices will be the same, unless RNG is on your side.
- itsUndefined's Shop Items Spawn in Level enables shop items to spawn every level, with our customizability tailored to almost-equal weight to every item available. As of its latest version, item upgrades and drones (both modded and vanilla) are the only items enabled to spawn.
- With the previous mod handling item upgrade spawns, a combination of the mods below help change the logic of the shop itself.
- Swaggies' TimeAttack enables a time limit tied to each level. Each successful extraction extends the timer, and bonus money/time for faster extractions.
- TheRavenNest's UnlimitedOrbs removes the cap for the maximum amount of monster orbs you can obtain from fighting back. It only makes sense that with the limitation of time, enabling a different style of play can help contribute to extending time and succeeding in successful extractions.
- Enchanted_Games' ExploitFix will be used as a temporary fix for the current exploits of the game. No more naughty naughty! (Don't worry, I did the same thing too!)
- DimaBroZY's HealOnLobby is a more flavourful implementation of the healing pack exploit! This is fundamentally different from getting HP when arriving at the truck to extract. Now, in addition to the 25HP heal from the truck, you will now be rewarded with an additional 15% of your maximum HP AFTER visiting the shop. This will give you a tiny cushion of HP no matter what, and should encourage you to try saving your fellow semibots from certain doom. A healthier team is a help-ier team?
Mod Details - Roundationals (Items)
With the core foundational mods in place, it is only right to add mods that serve to round out the roguelike vision I have, extend the offerings and variety of monsters and loot, and further mix the pot of chaos.
- Yuckers' UniquePotions + Lunoid's REPO Alchemy extends minute-to-minute gameplay options, and adds a well-fitting crafting system for the true witches and wizard loot goblins.
- dig's REPOPresents mixes "Lucky Block"-style valuables that adds a spice to your already-limited runs. Will you break the present for a chance at better loot? Or suffer the loss of even worse RNG?
- khalliv's MultipleUseUpgrades adds a chance for upgrades to not be consumed upon use, effectively doubling or tripling the value of that upgrade. What's a greater feeling that hitting those small odds?
- SeroRonin's ItemBundles widens the playability for groups that play together, utilizing a vanilla-friendly way of sharing upgrades without breaking the economy. In our case, it lets the discovery of finding a bundle in the wild just that much better. Did I forget to mention that this also has the chance to not be consumed?
- Zehs' DestructibleDrone is a flipped take on the Indestructible Drone, where at the risk of greater fragility, your valuable's worth skyrockets. And before you think about it, it cannot be stacked with other drones to circumvent its effect. Effectively a a type of double-or-nothing, and under a time limit? Good luck!
Mod Details - Roundationals (Monsters)
That's not all that the modpack has to offer. With a differnt gameplay loop, come different enemies. Some you may already recognize, and others probably not. No matter which side you're on, every level will be a different experience.
- Magic_Wesley's Wesley_Enemies needs no introductions. With a fantastic selection of enemies that fit right into the R.E.P.O. aesthetic, you'll find it also home in our experience as well.
- PaintedThornStudio's MCZombieMod spawns in the iconic Zombie from the beloved sandbox behemoth Minecraft. Goofy addition, but you'll soon see why. And because it's a familiar foe, doesn't mean you should underestimate its horde capability.
- eth9n's Mimic enables the ability for enemies to mimic our speech and sound, giving certain monsters additional functionality to confuse and discombobulate. For our tailored experience, not all enemies have the ability to mimic. If your lightbulbs are brightning, you should connect as to who may possess this functionality...
- FNKT_Labs' BerserkerEnemies spices up later runs with nigh-unkillable, resource-expensive, unstunnable enemies who challenge your intelligence and skills to maneuver and manipulate groups of enemies. Because if you try to destroy these berserked monsters, expect your time and life to dwindle. But who knows, the rewards may be worth it.
Mod Details - Roundationals (Levels)
With all that said, there's no way the Taxman will only stop with just our 3 vanilla level templates. In addition to the custom levels below, more will be added as the community modding grows:
- ArilcedT's MinecraftStrongholdLevel is the reason why the Zombie is here. I'm kidding, it's a great set of custom levels to play R.E.P.O. in, and what better inclusion to potentially introduce us into this world than the Zombie themself.
- MelanieMelicious' Melanie REPO Levels MelanieMelicious adds a whole new set of custom interiors based on the author's previous works. With 2 sets of levels and a massive atmosphere, you can quickly lose yourself in these halls.
- Beaniebe's Deeproot Garden adds a vanilla-friendly tile set based on the wonderful gardes you would see outside, if it was mazelike! The doors may be short but the danger behind these walls remain the same.
Mod Details - Roundationals (Valuables)
Second last but definitely not the least, valuables that serve to further diversify R.E.P.O.'s offerings are contributed by the wonderful mods:
Mod Details - Quality Of Life
Additional QoL features have been added to help smoothen the experience, but does not make the overall gameplay easier:
- surfknasen's Walkie Talkies adds a new layer of communication between groups, at the cost of your own energy! But remember, walkie talkies are loud, and you're not the only thing around...
- darmuh's FovUpdate to help those who may feel motion sickness with the game itself. Even with the options provided within Gameplay and Graphics, having full FOV control means that you are free to see what you want, the way you want.
- SaturnKai's Dead_Man_Access for the ability to view your map when spectating, enabling the ability to orient yourself to the map instead of always having to fully remember each room and its connection. This modpack already does a lot, so at the very least I personally feel that this is necessary.
- starktron's OutOfLoot for the simple, unintrusive method of letting you know if there is not enough loot on the map to extract.
- MelanieMelicious' Cart Lights MelanieMelicious for the simple extra lights on the cart, for those times where your flashlight clears your cart, yet the light doesn't shine through. Additional config options provided for extra customizability!
- DougHRito's HunterGun + HunterDropsGun for things that just makes sense. You defeat the Huntsman, and some of the time his gun is destroyed in the process. But what if...?
- khalliv's ShoppingListHUD to help keep track of what you're purchasing!
- MTS' PostLevelSummaryPlus is a post-level summary that keeps track of everything that has happened throughout the level, minus the Taxman's generous bonuses. How good were you?
- Rebateman's LateJoin enables the ability for other to join your game at a later stage should they wish! Hooray for ease of access!
- Tolian's REPODiscordRichPresence to show off how far you'ver gotten!
- SphynxDev's ItemConjurer for helping ease testing the levels!
- Index154's SpawnConfig for the ability to customize monster spawns!

Last but not least, the absolute goofy mods:
Final Notes
Sooo yeah, full modlist (minus prerequisites to make it work, of course). As the modpack evolves, so will what will be kept in the pack or removed! There will always be one thing: the Taxman years for the money, or years for explosions. Don't wait around to find out, go and make some money for the Taxman!
This modpack is an extreme work-in-progress, with every mod subject to change. My prioritization is that my friends get to enjoy something I put together, so nothing is set in stone. My only hope is that this modpack can be called fun.
I am also new to publicizing my modpacks, so please bare with me with the... bare minimum here lol. If you're curious about how this modpack does play, you can visit my YouTube channel or my Twitch channel, otherwise play at your own risk/comfort!
It must be clarified that I do not have any rights to every mod included in this modpack. Every mod has been developed by the community for one reason or another, and all love goes out to these wonderful authors. Please give them the time of your day to support their work!
