LateJoinPlus
Late join with no invisible rooms, and only the host needs it. Now in every R.E.P.O language. Moderators, private calls, history, timed bans, Invites only lobbies, F6 menu key, loading-screen players panel. Lobbies up to 20, anti-cheat.LateJoinPlus
The best late join for R.E.P.O, with no invisible rooms, and now a full lobby toolkit too. Friends join any time, even mid-level, and only the host needs it.
🌍 New in 1.1.4: LateJoinPlus speaks your language. It supports every language R.E.P.O has: English, Dansk, Suomi, Svenska, Português (Brasil) and Português (Portugal). It follows the language you picked in the game by itself. Also new: press F6 to open the LJ+ menu, Invites only lobbies, and Invite a friend from inside the game.
🌍 New in 1.1.4: every in-game language
- All of R.E.P.O's languages: English, Dansk (Danish), Suomi (Finnish), Svenska (Swedish), Português (Brasil) and Português (Portugal). The LJ+ menu, every setting and hint, moderator pop-ups, the call panel, the loading-screen players panel and the on-screen messages are all translated.
- Follows the game: switch the language in R.E.P.O's own settings and LateJoinPlus switches with it, no restart. Or pick one yourself at the top of LJ+ → Settings.
- Everyone reads their own language: messages LateJoinPlus sends to other players stay in English on the way (so players with other languages or older versions still understand them) and are shown in each player's own language when they arrive.
- Fix a word yourself: put a corrected file in
BepInEx/config/LateJoinPlus-lang/and it's used on top of the built-in one, no update needed. - Open the menu with a key: F6 opens LJ+ from anywhere (in a level it opens the pause menu with LJ+ on top), and again closes it. A small LJ+ [F6] in the bottom-left reminds you. Change the key at the top of LJ+ → Settings.
- Invites only: a new Who Can Join choice. Only players you invite can get in, friends too, and the lobby is hidden from the server list. Steam's friends list can't invite to such a lobby, so invite from the game: the pause menu's INVITE button, or Invite a friend in LJ+ → Overview, which lists your online Steam friends (those playing R.E.P.O first) and sends the invite with one click.
- Every page was checked in every language, so long words fit: hints and rows shrink to fit instead of running off the panel.
★ BIG UPDATE: 1.1.0, run your lobby together ★
LateJoinPlus is now a full lobby toolkit: moderators, private calls, history and notes, and a players panel on loading screens. It all lives in one new menu, and it's still the same late join underneath. Players without mods still join and play as before.
New in 1.1.0
Moderators
- Make moderator: turn trusted friends into moderators from their player page. For each one you choose what they may do: Kick, Ban, Block, Notes, Calls, Run control and Admin Menu. Remove them any time, even while they're offline.
- Safe by design: your game carries out everything a moderator does, after checking their permission. Moderators can never remove you, another moderator, or a player you protect. Their access is a private key kept on their own computer, not in their mod profile, so sharing a profile never shares it. A fake lobby can't steal it or reuse it.
- Admin Menu for moderators (RepoAdminMenu now installs with LateJoinPlus): spawning, teleport, summon, heal, revive, upgrades, money and the rest, carried out by the host's game and kept in History. Limited to 10 actions every 10 seconds, so nobody can flood the lobby.
- Moderator pop-ups: when a moderator kicks, bans, blocks, writes a note, uses the Admin Menu or starts the run, a card shows in the middle of your screen just above your inventory slots: what happened, to whom, and by whom.
- Run control: moderators can start the run, call off the countdown, or send everyone back to the lobby.
History, notes and bans
- History: every kick, ban, block, unblock, moderator change, note, call and Lobby Guard block. Search it, filter it, export it to a text file, and share it with your moderators. Players who already left can be blocked straight from their entry.
- Notes on players by Steam ID. They're shown to you and your moderators when that player joins.
- Timed bans: this lobby only, 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, or for good. A timed block ends by itself.
- Told why: players with LateJoinPlus see why they were removed and for how long.
Private calls
- Ring players who have LateJoinPlus, or start a team call with all your moderators. Answer with Y, decline with N and leave with End (all three can be changed). Players can also ask the host for a call.
- Hear each other anywhere: across the map, through walls, even while dead. Nobody outside the call hears you, players without mods included, and talking on a call doesn't draw monsters.
- Hold Caps Lock to talk to everyone while you're on a call. The whole lobby hears you, your call still does, and you keep hearing the call. You can change the key, mouse side buttons included.
- Volumes you set live: how loud the call is, how loud the lobby outside the call is (0–100%), and your own mic boost for the call.
- Call panel in the corner of your choice: who's on the call, live mic bars for everyone (you included), who's muted or connecting, and any time limit. It steps aside while a menu is open.
- Host limits for moderators' calls: the longest a call can last, and how long they wait before the next one.
Loading screens and level changes
- Players panel on loading screens: the host and moderators see everyone in the lobby while a level loads, with the ones holding things up at the top. Each player shows where they are (results screen, loading and for how long, loaded, ready), with Kick / Ban / Block buttons (click twice). Your mouse is free while it shows.
- NEW in 1.1.3: volume and who's talking on loading screens. Each player in the panel has the same volume setting as the pause menu (
<>or click the bar, 0–200%), and a green light and level bar show who is talking right now. - Slow player warning after 45 seconds (you can change this): it tells you who you're waiting for. Continue without them if they're stuck on the results screen, and a stuck level change goes on by itself after 2 minutes.
- Ghost alerts for players who still have no character a minute after joining.
Your lobby
- A brand-new LJ+ menu in the game's own style. Sections are on the left: Overview, Players, Moderators, Calls, History, Block List, Settings. The page is on the right, and a status line shows whether you're hosting, whether the lobby is open, and the player count. A microphone button opens Calls, and one Escape closes it all.
- LJ+ next to the title in the pause menu (under the game's own crown) and on the lobby screen.
- Start countdown: after you press Start, the run begins a few seconds later, so everyone can get ready. Shift-click to start at once, or click again to call it off.
- Name colours for you, your moderators or any player. Players with LateJoinPlus see them above heads, in the lobby list and in the pause menu.
- LateJoinPlus lobbies are listed first in the server list, with a gold tag.
- Big lobbies fit in the pause menu: with 18 or more players, rows close up and shrink so every name stays on screen. Names and tags (HOST, MOD, MUTED, LJ+, LJN, GT) fit on one line.
Fixes and quality of life
- Items left behind drop where their player stood when they leave, or are kicked or banned. They no longer land in the truck or jump into the host's hand.
- Inventory slots for rejoining players: when a joiner's slot isn't ready yet, the item drops at their feet instead of disappearing, and a message says why.
- Cosmetic box tokens now reach players who joined mid-level.
- Lobby Guard no longer blocks the host of a lobby you joined after a player leaves.
- Other late-join mods and moderation mods are switched off while LateJoinPlus runs, so two mods never fight over your lobby. You can uninstall them.
- Moderators, history and calls keep working while late join itself is off.
- Now installs RepoAdminMenu, REPO Fixes+ 1.3.4 and Admin Menu Button Position Fix 1.5.1.
Moderators and call members need LateJoinPlus 1.1.0 or later. Everyone else needs nothing.
What LateJoinPlus does
The best late join for R.E.P.O, with no invisible rooms. With other late-join mods, players who join mid-level often fall through missing floors or walk into rooms with no walls, because those rooms never reach their game. LateJoinPlus sends every room of the level to every joiner, so the level looks and works the same for them as for everyone else.
Let your friends join your R.E.P.O game at any time: in the truck, in the shop, or in the middle of a level. Only the host needs this mod. Players who join don't need any mods at all.
Main features
- NEW: Every in-game language. English, Dansk, Suomi, Svenska, Português (Brasil) and Português (Portugal), following the language you picked in the game.
- NEW: Moderators. Trusted friends can kick, ban, block, keep notes, run the start and use the Admin Menu, each with only the permissions you give them.
- NEW: Private calls. Ring players or your whole mod team, hear each other anywhere on the map, and hold Caps Lock to talk to everyone.
- NEW: History and notes. Every kick, ban, block and note, searchable and shared with your moderators.
- NEW: Players panel on loading screens. See who's holding up a level change and remove them, with a warning after 45 seconds.
- NEW: The LJ+ menu. Everything in one place, next to the title in the pause menu and on the lobby screen, plus a start countdown and name colours.
- Join any time. Players can join while you're in the truck, the shop or a level.
- No invisible rooms. Every room of the level loads properly for joiners: no missing floors or walls.
- Works for players without mods. Your friends don't have to install anything. They load in fully caught up with the run.
- Joiners can play straight away. They can talk and hear everyone, pick things up, use their inventory slots and extract like everyone else.
- Extraction never gets stuck. Late joiners can't accidentally lock the extraction points for the rest of the level.
- Bigger lobbies, up to 20 players. No MorePlayers needed: set the number in the LJ+ menu (10 by default). Players who join don't need any mods.
- Upgrades carry over. Players who leave and rejoin the run get their upgrades back straight away, not at the next level.
- Their map is filled in. Rooms your team already explored show up on a joiner's map.
- Safe spawn. Joiners appear by the truck (or next to you), never inside a wall or over a pit. Nobody else gets moved.
- No lag when someone joins. Catching a joiner up is spread out, so your game doesn't freeze.
- Open or close your lobby live, at any time. Even mid-level, switch between:
- Everyone: open to anyone, and listed in the server list.
- Friends only: hidden from the server list; only your Steam friends and players you invite can join.
- Invites only (NEW): hidden from the server list; only players you invite can join, friends too. Invite them with INVITE or LJ+ → Overview → Invite a friend.
- Nobody: closed, so no one new can join until you open it again.
- Everyone can invite friends. Not just the host: anyone in your lobby can send Steam invites, even players without mods.
- Lobby Guard anti-cheat. Stops common griefing (fake kicks, host stealing, voice takeovers, cheat menus) and auto-bans anyone on your block list. It also stops other players' mods from flooding your log with errors.
- Kick, ban and block list. Remove players with Kick, Ban (NEW: for as long as you choose) or Block, from the pause menu, the LJ+ menu or the loading-screen panel.
Getting started
- Install LateJoinPlus with r2modman or the Thunderstore app. It installs everything it needs with it: MenuLib, RepoAdminMenu (the Admin Menu, which your moderators can use too), REPO Fixes+ (multiplayer bug fixes) and Admin Menu Button Position Fix (an Admin Menu button and a tidy pause menu).
- Host a game as normal.
- That's it: your lobby now accepts players at any time, up to 10 by default (change it in LJ+ → Overview → Max Players, up to 20). Use the INVITE button in the pause menu to invite friends, or let them find you in the server list. Your server name shows a
[LateJoinPlus]tag so people know they can join mid-run.
You don't need to change any settings. If you want to, press F6, LATE JOIN in the main menu, or LJ+ in the pause menu or on the lobby screen. LateJoinPlus uses the language you picked in the game. For example, set Who Can Join to Friends only so your friends can get in before strangers do, or Nobody to close it. To add a moderator, open Players, pick a friend who has LateJoinPlus, and press Make moderator.
Who needs it
| Player | Needs LateJoinPlus? |
|---|---|
| Host | Yes. It runs late join, catches joiners up, and has the moderation tools. |
| Players joining | No. Players without any mods join and play normally. |
| Moderators, and players you call | Yes, 1.1.0 or later. |
| Anyone who wants Lobby Guard protection | Yes. Each player's copy can only protect that player's own game. |
Players who do have LateJoinPlus get a few small extras when they join: the exact list of explored rooms, their game version in the host's player list, name colours, the start countdown, and being told why they were removed.
What a joiner gets
When someone joins mid-run, the host's game quietly sends them everything they missed:
- the level itself (rooms, doors, lights), set up correctly;
- the items: their names, values, batteries and who's carrying what;
- run stats, the haul total and the extraction goals;
- everyone's upgrades, including their own if they were in the run before;
- extraction points: open ones show as open, finished ones as finished;
- voice: they can hear everyone, and everyone can hear them;
- the explored map;
- Birthday Boy's balloons, and the map's guide line to the extraction.
A small list in the bottom-left corner shows each joiner's progress: Connecting, Loading, Joined (or Left). [O] means they have LateJoinPlus and [X] means they don't (that's fine).
The LJ+ menu
Open it with F6 (you can change the key), LATE JOIN in the main menu (just above Quit), or LJ+ next to the title in the pause menu and on the lobby screen (host and moderators). Sections on the left, the page on the right:
- Overview: Who Can Join (Everyone, Friends only, Invites only, Nobody) and Max Players, applied live; the run (start countdown, back to the lobby, continue a stuck level change); Invite a friend and the start countdown.
- Players: every player with their Steam profile, role, late-join mod, GameTools, game version, volume, notes and name colour, plus Kick, Ban (for how long), Block, Make moderator and Protect. Each one asks first.
- Moderators: your moderators, online or not, and what each one may do.
- Calls: your call (who's on it, time left, volumes, Leave), and who you can ring. Everything you set once is under Call settings.
- History: everything that happened in your lobbies, searchable, with export.
- Block List: everyone you've blocked, and for how long. Add a Steam ID or unblock someone.
- Settings: Language and the Menu Key at the top, then every setting, grouped by section.
Pause menu player list: each name shows short tags: HOST / MOD, MUTED (their game's mute is on), CHEAT (caught cheating), their late-join mod (LJ+, LJN, LR, LJ), GT for GameTools, and their game version if it's different from yours. As host (or a moderator who may remove players), the Kick button there opens the Kick / Ban / Block choice. The game's own "kick" is really a ban, so now you choose.
Changes apply straight away and are saved.
Lobby Guard
Lobby Guard protects your game from common griefing and cheats.
| Problem | What Lobby Guard does |
|---|---|
| Fake kicks (everyone sent back to the main menu) | Ignored. Only the real host can kick. |
| Host stealing (someone makes themselves host) | You keep your lobby, take host back, and they're banned. |
| Deleting or stealing everything | Only allowed from the host or the item's owner. |
| Voice takeover or voice spam | Blocked. |
| Messages for mods you don't have (another player's mods) | Let through once, then ignored quietly instead of an error in your log every time. |
| Fake revives (only the host can revive; other mods like GameTools sometimes spam them) | Dropped before any mod reacts, so they can't lag your game. Not treated as cheating. |
| Cheat menus (e.g. heal-everyone spam) | The cheat is ignored and you're told on screen. The player isn't kicked; that's your choice. |
| Known cheaters | Add their Steam ID to your block list. When you host, they're banned the moment they join. |
Anyone caught doing something a normal game never does is blocked on your side. When you host, they're also banned and added to your block list.
Settings
Change these in LJ+ → Settings (easiest), in REPOConfig, or in the file BepInEx/config/ricketywrecked.repo.latejoinplus.cfg.

Players.MaxPlayersEnabled / MaxPlayers |
on / 10 | Bigger lobbies (2 to 20 players). While on, it takes over from MorePlayers and RoboUnion's player limit. Off = the game's own limit (6). A full lobby disappears from the server list, and you're told when this setting is what keeps it full. |
Debug.DebugLogging |
off | Write every step to the log, for bug reports. |
While late join is on, your server name in the server list always starts with [LateJoinPlus], so players know they can join mid-run.
Questions
Do my friends need to install anything? No. Only the host needs LateJoinPlus. Moderators and players you want to call need it too (1.1.0 or later).
Which languages does LateJoinPlus support?
Every language R.E.P.O itself has: English, Dansk, Suomi, Svenska, Português (Brasil) and Português (Portugal). It follows the game's language setting, or pick one at the top of LJ+ → Settings. Spotted a word that could be better? Tell us on Discord, or fix it yourself with a file in BepInEx/config/LateJoinPlus-lang/.
With Invites only, Steam's friends list has no invite option. That's how Steam works for invite-only lobbies: the friends list has no invite option for them. Invite from the game instead, with the pause menu's INVITE button or LJ+ → Overview → Invite a friend.
How do I make someone a moderator? They need LateJoinPlus 1.1.0 or later. While hosting, open LJ+ → Players, pick them and press Make moderator, then choose what they may do. Their access comes back with them in every lobby you host, and you can remove it any time, even while they're offline.
Can a moderator kick me or take over my lobby? No. Your game checks every action against the permissions you gave them. Moderators can't remove you, another moderator, or anyone you protect.
Can I remove someone during a loading screen?
Yes. On loading screens the host (and moderators who may remove players) get a players panel, and your mouse is free. It shows everyone in the lobby, the ones holding things up first, with where they are and Kick / Ban / Block buttons (click twice). After Lobby.WarnSlowPlayersSeconds (45 s) you're told who's holding things up. Someone stuck on their results screen can be left behind with Continue without them. Turn the panel off with Display.LoadingScreenPlayers.
Can people outside my call hear me? No, unless you hold the talk-to-everyone key (Caps Lock by default). Then the whole lobby hears you as normal, and your call still does.
Do I still need MorePlayers? No. LateJoinPlus does bigger lobbies itself (Max Players in the LJ+ menu). If MorePlayers is still installed, LateJoinPlus switches it off and takes over the limit; you can uninstall it. RoboUnion keeps its other features, but LateJoinPlus sets the player limit.
Can I use it with LateJoinNow or another late-join mod?
You don't need to. Two late-join mods fight over the same lobby, so when LateJoinPlus finds LateJoinNow, LateRepo, LateJoin or another late-join mod installed too, it switches that one off and handles joining by itself. You can uninstall the other one. (To leave it running anyway, set OtherLateJoinMods to false. That's not recommended.)
I have another moderation mod installed. LateJoinPlus switches it off completely while it runs, so the two never fight over kicks, bans, calls or the countdown. You can uninstall it.
I had Lobby Guard or Map Sync Fix installed. They're built into LateJoinPlus now, so you can uninstall them. If they're still installed, LateJoinPlus turns them off and copies your block list over.
I joined someone else's game mid-level and some rooms have no floor or walls. That host is using a different late-join mod that didn't send those rooms, and nothing on your side can rebuild them. LateJoinPlus tells you on screen when this happens. The next level loads normally for everyone.
How do I report a bug?
Turn on Debug.DebugLogging, play until it happens, then send the BepInEx log (BepInEx/LogOutput.log) on our Discord. Everything LateJoinPlus does is in the log as [LateJoinPlus], [Lobby Guard] and [Map Sync] lines.
