Mod Config Menu
Adds a Mods tab to the game's Settings screen, in the game's own style, to change any mod's settings while playing.Mod Config Menu
Adds a Mods tab to the game's Settings screen, next to its own tabs, from the pause menu and from the title screen. It shows your installed mods on the left and the chosen mod's settings on the right, in the game's own style. Hover a setting to read what it does and its default value. Back works as on the other tabs.
-
Search: type in the field above the settings; the list keeps only the mods and settings that match.
-
Click a section title to fold or unfold it. Long sections start folded.
-
Settings you changed are marked with
*, and so are their section and their mod in the list: you see at a glance what you changed. -
Mods that have no setting are listed in grey, with their description.
-
The reset button at the bottom puts every setting of the shown mod back to default (click it twice).
-
Works with the keyboard: arrow keys move between mods and settings, and the list follows.
-
Yes/no settings and lists of values: change them with the arrows.
-
Long lists of yes/no settings: a grid of check boxes, with Check all and Uncheck all.
-
Numbers: a slider, and a field beside it that takes any value (press Enter). The slider covers the range the mod advises, or 0 to 4 times the default; a value typed outside it stretches it.
-
Keys: click, then press the new key (Escape cancels). Hold Ctrl, Shift or Alt for a key combination when the mod accepts one.
-
Anything else: type the value and press Enter. A value that does not fit the setting is refused and the old one stays.
-
Default puts one setting back to its default value.
Each change is saved at once in the mod's settings file, and a line under the list confirms it. A setting that only works after restarting the game, or after loading a save, says so after its name and when you change it (when its mod tells which ones).
Names and descriptions follow the game's language when the mod gives translations; other mods are shown as they are.
Multiplayer
Install it for yourself; nobody else needs it. Mods can mark some settings as game settings: in multiplayer the host's value applies to everyone.
- Solo: you set everything.
- Host: your game settings are sent to the guests who have Mod Config Menu, and again whenever you change one.
- Guest with Mod Config Menu: the host's game settings are used while you are in its game. They show greyed, marked "(host)", and cannot be changed. Your own values stay in your settings files and come back when you leave the game.
- Guest without Mod Config Menu, or a dedicated server: everyone keeps their own settings.
Turn it off with [Multiplayer] HostDecides.
For mod makers
No dependency needed: your mod works the same without Mod Config Menu.
- Mark a setting with plain strings in BepInEx's
ConfigDescriptiontags:"RestartGame"(takes effect after restarting the game),"ReloadSave"(when a save is loaded),"HostDecides"(game setting: the host decides in multiplayer).Config.Bind("General", "Damage", 1f, new ConfigDescription("Damage multiplier. Advised: 0.5 to 3.", null, "HostDecides")) - Advised range of a number: write
Advised: <min> to <max>.in its description; the slider uses it. - Translations: embed a
translations.jsonin your DLL with<EmbeddedResource Include="translations.json" LogicalName="ModConfigMenu.translations.json" />:{ "fr": { "Name": "...", "Description": "...", "Sections": { "General": "Général" }, "Settings": { "General": { "Damage": { "Name": "Dégâts", "Description": "..." } } } } }Languages are the game's codes (fr,de,zh-hant...);encan give clearer English names.
