Waypoint Movement
Adds native-feeling waypoint routing to TaleSpire creature movement, with configurable feet/meters display and optional external movement-budget integration.Cyberpunk PINK - Waypoint Movement v0.1.15 local test build
INSTALL
- Close TaleSpire.
- Run Install-WaypointMovement.cmd.
- It automatically targets r2modman -> TaleSpire -> Default.
- If an existing WaypointMovementPlugin.dll is present, the installer replaces it in place.
- Start TaleSpire from r2modman.
THIS BUILD CHANGES ONLY WAYPOINT MOVEMENT Creature Bridge 1.1.11 and the Cyberpunk PINK Symbiote do not need to change for this test.
NEW IN 0.1.15 - WAYPOINT-RELATIVE FACING
- Before the first waypoint, TaleSpire keeps its normal facing behavior.
- After waypoint 1, the held token faces along the segment from waypoint 1 to its current position.
- After waypoint 2, facing switches to waypoint 2 -> current position, and so on.
- Backspace immediately makes the previous waypoint the facing reference again.
- If all waypoints are removed, TaleSpire's normal origin-based facing takes over again.
- While the token is effectively on top of the latest waypoint, the previous meaningful facing is preserved so tiny cursor jitter does not make it spin.
- On drop, the token keeps the final route-segment facing.
EXISTING MOVEMENT BEHAVIOR IS UNCHANGED
- Hold LMB to carry normally.
- RMB while LMB is held adds a waypoint.
- Backspace removes the latest waypoint.
- Releasing LMB performs TaleSpire's native drop.
- Cyberpunk PINK movement budgets, movement history reporting, and red overage rendering are unchanged.
TEST
- Pick up a token and drag east. Do not place a waypoint yet. Its facing should behave exactly as TaleSpire normally does.
- RMB to place waypoint A.
- Turn north. The token should now face north, away from A, rather than continuing to face away from its original pickup point.
- RMB to place waypoint B, then turn west. The token should face west, away from B.
- Press Backspace while still dragging. Facing should immediately use A as the latest waypoint again.
- Drop the token. It should keep the facing from the final route segment.
If the token appears exactly 90 or 180 degrees off after a waypoint, send the log and tell me which direction the route traveled versus which direction the token faced. The plugin calibrates against TaleSpire's own pre-waypoint facing to avoid model-forward-axis assumptions.
v0.1.15 adds an in-game Waypoint Movement Settings window. Press Ctrl+U to open it and choose Feet or Meters. The selection persists in BepInEx config. Feet mode converts the legacy movement-budget scale through the calibrated TaleSpire ruler so a 30 ft Revised budget displays as 30 ft while dragging; Meters preserves Cyberpunk PINK behavior.
