Smelter
Smelter unlocks hidden TABS graphics settings that allow you to either heavily optimize your game, or make it as laggy as possible.
The settings are exposed by Unity and, now, they are in your control.
Optimization
This mod is great if you have a "potato" computer, or a computer on the lower-end of specs, and need to get some extra performance.
For this reason, setting presets have been added for non-tech-savvy users just looking for more FPS.
As I'll mention soon, the presets (and mod in general) only change/include the settings that are normally hidden, not the vanilla ones, too.
Panel
Click F10 (default keybind) to open the Smelter settings panel, where these new settings can be found.
The settings panel does not include all vanilla settings, only the previously hidden ones.
Some of these settings include:
- Shadow render distance
- Map render distance
- Level-of-Detail distance (how close you have to be until an object becomes detailed)
- Max particle cap
- Animation culling range
- Anti-Aliasing Disabling
- Texture quality
- Ragdoll sleep threshold
It also adds a new feature:
Dead unit remover
As you could probably tell, it removes units soon after they die.
This new feature performs similarly to my Hide the Evidence mod, but it has no particle effects for performance reasons.
If you want fade-away particles on death, disable this feature in Smelter and instead install my other mod. Smelter and Hide the Evidence are compatible with eachother as long as this feature is off.
