FantasyDefinitive
A small mod that should hopefully make the Fantasy units more pleasant to play with!What does FantasyDefinitive do?
FantasyDefinitive is a small mod that aims to balance out the stats of the titular Fantasy units (Good and Evil). This was made primarily with sandbox in mind to make these units fairer in price-based matches, and allow the player to create sufficient (campaign) or large (sandbox) armies without needing to overcompensate with the opposing team. Changes include damage, health, costs, and more. Feel free to ping me in the TABS Mod Center Discord server if you have any suggestions or feedback!
Unit Changes
Tekkō
- Formerly known as, "Devout Gauntlet."
- Price reduction: 200 -> 150
- Base health reduction: 125 -> 100 (slightly higher due to size)
- Gauntlet minimum damage reduction: 75 -> 45
- Gauntlet attack speed reduction: 1.00x -> 0.50x
- Dev comment: This unit was a mini Super Boxer and was really powerful for the first unit in the faction, especially in numbers. Pretty much everything was reduced to help emphasize its weaknesses to ranged units while keeping its crowd control.
Aegis
- Formerly known as, "Celestial Aegis."
- Price reduction: 300 -> 210
- Dev comment: I thought this unit was good enough in the stats department. It just needed to be cheaper to be worth using.
Glaive Thrower
- Formerly known as, "Radiant Glaive."
- Price reduction: 500 -> 350
- Base health reduction: 180 -> 150
- Glaive attack speed reduction: 1.00x -> 0.45x
- Glaive damage reduction: 85 -> 45
- Dev comment: Radiant Glaive was a smaller Zeus that was way too good in numbers. Now, it's still that, but to a much lesser degree, and more cost-efficient to boot.
Paladin
- Formerly known as, "Righteous Paladin."
- Price reduction: 800 -> 660
- Base health reduction: 550 -> 375 (slightly higher due to size)
- Size increase: 1.20x -> 1.35x
- Dev comment: I really wanted to emphasize that the unit-disabling Shockwave Hammer was the main thing about this unit, not its stats, so some of said stats were reduced, changing the unit's primary role from purely a tank, to a tank and a disabler.
Arbiter
- Formerly known as, "Divine Arbiter."
- Price increase: 1000 -> 1200
- Book attack speed reduction: 1.00x -> 0.10x
- Dev comment: Were you expecting a buff? Divine Arbiter was a very powerful unit with its smiting lasers (or whatever they're called) and how relatively fast it comes off cooldown. I wanted to keep it devastating, so instead I reduced its attack speed.
Elephantry
- Formerly known as, "Sacred Elephant."
- Price reduction: 2000 -> 1800
- Dev comment: Seemed a little expensive for what it does.
Chronomancer
- Price increase: 3000 -> 3200
- Size increase: 1.05x -> 1.25x
- Timy Timonthy size increase: 1.25x -> 1.35x
- Dev comment: (S)he was smol, become big, get nerfed
Maelstrom
- Formerly known as, "Solar Architect."
- Now wears the, "Fantasy Good gloria 00," which I'm pretty sure is left unused.
- Dev comment: Sog.
Assassin
- Formerly known as, "Shadow Walker."
- Price reduction: 200 -> 160
- Dev comment: Just a little more cost efficient.
Sentinel
- Formerly known as, "Exiled Sentinel."
- Cost reduction: 300 -> 190
- Health reduction: 350 -> 200
- Speed increase: 0.80x -> 1.00x
- Dev comment: Did way too much before. The unit is now truly basic infantry. Not sure why they moved slower than other units, so I changed that.
Flamethrower
- Formerly known as, "Mad Mechanic."
- Cost reduction: 500 -> 400
- Flamethrower claws attack speed reduction: 1.00x -> 0.75x
- Dev comment: The faction's glass cannon is now cheaper.
Cultist
- Formerly known as, "Void Cultist."
- Cost reduction: 800 -> 500
- Health reduction: 550 -> 250
- Dev comment: Void Cultist was way too good of a combatant, so like the Paladin, I reduced its health. The Sword Implosion (grouping enemies together) is now the main thing about this unit.
Lich
- Formerly known as, "Tempest Lich."
- Cost increase: 1000 -> 1100
- Dev comment: I think the unit's alright.
Warglaive
- Formerly known as, "Death Bringer."
- Cost reduction: 2000 -> 1600
- Size increase: 1.20x -> 1.25x
- Dev comment: Still a crowd controller, and still loses to strong high-health targets. I also didn't think this unit was worth 2000.
Void Monarch
- Size increase: 1.10x -> 1.50x
- Dev comment: I didn't like how small he was in his base form.
Infernal Whip
- Now has Dark Peasant's eyes.
- Dev comment: Look, I did this as a joke and it made the unit look cooler. So, now it's part of the mod.
