Wisplings

Half your walls are cracked. The carrots are ripe. The kiln ran out of wood two days ago, and there's troll hide drifting down the river from the fight you only half won.

Wisplings adds fifteen wisps that deal with that sort of thing. You make them at the Galdr table, they clear mist like the Wisplight, and they wear in the same slot, so it's one at a time.

If you build

Repair. Goes from piece to piece fixing whatever's damaged near you. Eases off during raids.

Stoker. Keeps your fires going from what's in your chests. Later it moves on to smelters and kilns, and eventually loads the ore as well.

Stash. Put a sign that says "Stash" next to a chest and dump everything in it. The wisp carries each item to the chest where that item already lives.

If you farm or keep animals

Harvest. Picks ripe crops and anything wild that grows back, and brings it to your feet. At level 3 it replants too, if you're carrying seeds.

Herder. Takes food from your chests to tames that are hungry. Later it walks the ones that wander off back home.

If you explore

Scout. Briefly lights up things worth picking up. Only you can see it, and it stays off your map. Later it finds unopened chests and dungeon entrances.

Sentinel. Chimes when something hostile gets close, faster as it comes in. It only warns. The rest is up to you.

If you fight

Warden. A shield that takes the hits until it breaks, then comes back once you're out of combat.

Storm. Throws small bolts of lightning, but only at things already fighting you. It won't start anything, and it leaves animals, tames and other players alone.

Balm. Heals you slowly between fights. Later your tames, then anyone standing near you.

Gleaner. Picks up after a fight and drops the loot at your feet. Leaves alone anything you dropped yourself.

If you sail

Mariner. Sits above the mast, lights the water at night for everyone aboard and spots serpents before they reach the boat. At level 3 it also warns you before the Leviathan you're standing on goes under.

If you die a lot

Wayfinder. Die while wearing it and it's waiting when you respawn, ready to walk you back to your tombstone.

Phoenix. Once a day, a hit that should have killed you doesn't. Then it goes dark for a while.

Wisp Anchor

You can only wear one, but you can leave a second at home. Build a Wisp Anchor with the hammer (Misc tab) near a Galdr table, walk up to it wearing a Repair, Harvest, Stoker, Stash, Herder or Bastion wisp, and use it. The wisp stays and works around the Anchor. Use it again to take the wisp back.

Bastion only works this way. Feed it Refined Eitr (hold Shift and use the Anchor) and monsters keep out of a small circle around it. One per base.

Questions

Can I wear two? No. They share the Wisplight's slot. That's what the Anchor is for.

How do upgrades work? Every wisp has three levels, and each one is a real step up. Level 2 needs a level 2 Galdr table, level 3 a level 3 table. The exact numbers are in the config.

What do they cost? Wisps, Refined Eitr and something that suits the wisp. Most are priced around the Mistlands. Sentinel, Warden, Phoenix, Storm and Bastion are the strong ones and cost late-game materials, plus a boss trophy for level 3.

Does the Anchor keep working when I leave? Only while someone is close enough for that part of the world to be loaded.

Where does an anchored Harvest wisp put things? In the nearest chest within 4 m of the Anchor (DeliveryChestRange in the config). If there isn't one, in a pile beside the Anchor.

Does everyone need it? Yes, the host too. Everyone sees everyone's wisps, and a wisp won't touch a chest another player has open. Gameplay settings come from the host's config. Sound, glow and colour are your own.

Can I change the numbers? BepInEx/config/com.studio2711.wisplings.cfg has a section per wisp: ranges, amounts and timings for each level, and the recipes as Item:amount lists (Craft, Level2, Level3). Set an amount to 0 to take that item out of a recipe.

There are red cost_line_reset lines in my log. That's the mod tidying up after an update. A recipe changed, your config file still named an item it no longer uses, and that line was reset to the current default (the log shows the old and new line). It happens once, and nothing else in the file is touched. Delete the … Costs sections to get every default back.

Can I switch a wisp off on my server? Yes. Every wisp has Enabled in its section. Off hides the recipe and makes any existing copy a plain wisplight. Nothing is deleted. [Wisp Anchor] AllowedWisps says which wisps may work from an Anchor.

We don't have a Galdr table. [Crafting] Station moves the recipes to another station (restart needed, and everyone needs the same line in their own file).
