QoL Adventure

A quality-of-life modpack for Valheim, built on Jotunn.

Targets Valheim 1.0.7. This version replaces the Smoothbrain per-skill mods and several other Valheim 1.0-broken mods with maintained equivalents — see the changelog.

Valheim 1.0 notes

• Vitality and Dual Wield are still on their pre-1.0 Smoothbrain builds. They load and work in testing.

BetterNetworking by SimplifyDave	1.2.0	Improves multiplayer performance via compression, queue size, and send rate tuning. Author: "install it on the dedicated server and on every modded client" — required on both ends for compression negotiation.

ImpactfulSkills by MidnightMods	0.19.3	Overhauls and adds skills so progression feels meaningful. Reworks Woodcutting, Pickaxes (AOE mining 50+), Gathering/Farming (AOE harvest 50+), weapon stamina cost, Sneaking, Run, Jump, Cooking, Fishing, Blood Magic and Crafting quality; adds Voyager (sailing), Hauling (carry weight) and Animal Whisper (taming). Replaces the individual Smoothbrain skill mods.
Vitality by Smoothbrain	1.1.3	Adds a skill that raises base health (default x2 at level 100 = +25 base HP). Bonus HP regen at level 30, extra HP from food at level 50.
Dual Wield by Smoothbrain	1.0.10	Dual wield axes, clubs, knives or swords (both hands the same type). Separate skill per weapon type; axes get a special attack. Not spears.
Fermenting by blacks7ar	1.1.8	Adds a skill that scales fermenting production speed and output — higher skill level ferments faster and yields more, up to double output at level 100. Configurable XP gain.
SkillFloors by Armikur	1.2.2	Each skill keeps a minimum "floor" that rises at 15% of the normal gain rate; on death, skills can't drop below their floor. Replaces FortifySkillsRedux.

AdjustablePortals by MidnightMods	0.4.0	Makes portal progression more gradual: optional building-piece requirement and fuel cost to activate a portal, boss-gated item teleportation, and mounts/tames/carts that can travel through with you.
CraftFromContainers by UnderHeiz	4.0.62	Pulls resources from nearby containers within a configurable range when crafting, building, or fuelling smelters/kilns. Client-side only.
CraftMeOnce by turbero	1.0.5	Marks recipes you haven't crafted yet with an exclamation mark at the workstation, and adds a repair-all button. Client-side; good for 100% completion runs.
DetailedLevels by turbero	2.1.3	Pin a skill to watch its progress live as an on-screen buff with fractional levels and adjustable skill-up messages; adds player stats to the skills panel.
SpearFix by coemt	0.0.4	Small tweak to vanilla spears: a bit more attack range, slightly lower attack height, longer spear model. Configurable attack speed.
AzuClock by Azumatt	1.1.0	Adds a configurable on-screen clock.
Unshamed by Azumatt	1.0.5	Unblocks Valheim's achievements, which 1.0 disables whenever any mods are installed, and retroactively grants ones already earned while modded. Client-side only.
ProximityVoiceChat by Azumatt	1.0.2	Proximity voice chat — nearby players sound close, fade out with distance, and go silent out of range, with positional audio that reacts to walls/caves. Push-to-talk (default B), configured in-game via Settings > Voice. Client-side only.

Installation

Via a mod manager (recommended): search for "QoL Adventure" and install like any other modpack. Mod managers install all dependencies automatically.

Manual install: install BepInExPack Valheim first, then install each mod listed above into your BepInEx/plugins folder.

Config

This pack ships with the config values used on the original server. Edit files under BepInEx/config after installing to adjust settings.

Notable tuning in this pack:

Mod	Change
ImpactfulSkills	Hauling max carry-weight bonus at level 100 raised to 150 (default 50).
ImpactfulSkills	Swimming eased at low level: speed and stamina bonuses now scale from level 0 (SwimSpeedRequiredLevel 25 → 0, SwimStaminaReductionLevel 50 → 0), SwimSkillGainRate 1 → 1.5. Level-100 ceilings unchanged.
AzuClock	Repositioned to the top-right (91%,-1.2%), 24-hour HH:mm format. Clock Clamp To Screen turned off, since it snaps negative offsets back to 0% and would undo this positioning.
AdjustablePortals	Building-piece requirement to activate a portal turned off (EnablePortalPieceRequirements on → off). TeleportTamesMaxCount 5 → 3. Cart teleport turned off (EnableTeleportCarts on → off).
Fermenting	Exp Loss on death 0 → 5, matching Vitality/Dual Wield's default (SkillFloors already protects the permanent floor).
PortalMap	Enable portal browser panel turned off — the sidepanel has no English translation.
