QoL Adventure
A quality-of-life modpack for Valheim: a full set of Smoothbrain skill mods, grid farming, craft-from-containers, backpacks, portals and teleport tweaks, swimming, and a death-skill-loss overhaul. Built on Jotunn.QoL Adventure
A quality-of-life modpack for Valheim, built on Jotunn.
What's included
Framework
- BepInExPack Valheim — the BepInEx modding framework, preconfigured for Valheim. Required by everything else.
- Jotunn — "the Valheim Library"; a modding API several mods below are built on.
Skills
- Farming (Smoothbrain) — makes crops grow faster and increases harvest yield; reduces planting stamina cost. At level 20 you can plant/harvest in bulk, at level 50 biome restrictions on planting are removed.
- Foraging (Smoothbrain) — increases item yield while foraging and makes berries and mushrooms respawn faster. Each level slightly increases pickup radius; at level 30 you can see respawn timers.
- Mining (Smoothbrain) — increases damage dealt while mining and item yield from ore deposits. Above the configured level there's a chance for deposits to explode (raised to level 80 in this pack; toggle with Ctrl+T).
- Lumberjacking (Smoothbrain) — replaces the vanilla Wood Cutting skill. Increases damage to trees and wood yield, reduces damage taken from falling trees, and increases movement speed in forests.
- Sailing (Smoothbrain) — increases the health of ships you build, the sailing speed of ships you command, and your exploration radius while on a ship. Includes a ship-nudge hotkey (Left Shift near the ladder).
- Blacksmithing (Smoothbrain) — increases the durability of crafted armor and weapons. At higher levels it also acts as crafting-station upgrades, enables repairing from your inventory (level 70+), and unlocks an extra upgrade tier (level 80+).
- Ranching (Smoothbrain) — increases item yield from slaughtering tamed creatures. Taming animals lose their fear of you at level 20 (faster taming); hunger and pregnancy info unlock at levels 10 and 40.
- Vitality (Smoothbrain) — adds a skill that increases your base health (default Base Health Multiplier
2= +25 base HP at level 100). Bonus HP regen at level 30, extra HP from food at level 50. - PackHorse (Smoothbrain) — adds a skill that increases maximum carry weight (+100 at level 100). It levels up while you move around with a full inventory.
- DualWield (Smoothbrain) — lets you dual wield axes, clubs, knives and swords (both hands must be the same weapon type). Each weapon type has its own dual-wield skill, and axes get a unique special attack. Not spears.
- FortifySkillsRedux (Searica) — replaces flat skill loss on death with a "fortified level" floor your active skill can't drop below.
Gameplay & QoL
- FarmGrid (Galateam) — plants placed with the cultivator auto-snap into a spaced grid so they always have room to grow.
- CraftFromContainers (Grizzzly) — use materials from nearby containers when crafting, building, fuelling smelters/kilns, cooking, refuelling fires, etc.
- Backpacks (Smoothbrain) — adds an equippable backpack in its own slot, so you don't have to choose between it and your cape/utility item. Upgradeable capacity, optional auto-fill, and custom backpacks definable via YAML.
- TargetPortal (Smoothbrain) — lets you target any portal directly instead of pairing portals by tag. Entering a portal opens a map of every portal; click one to travel there. Tags still work as labels.
- GracefulTeleportation (Smoothbrain) — makes creatures ignore you for a short time (or until you act) after you teleport, so you don't arrive into an ambush.
- VikingsDoSwim (blacks7ar) — scales swim speed, stamina regen and stamina drain to your Swim skill, with a configurable max swim speed, plus an underwater diving mechanic.
- SpearFix (coemt) — small tweak to vanilla spears: adds a bit of attack range, lowers the attack height slightly, and lengthens the spear model. Attack speed is configurable.
- GapFiller (Smoothbrain) — fills gaps in the vanilla weapon progression (e.g. a two-handed sword available from flint tier).
- DetailedLevels (turbero) — pin a skill to watch its progress live as an on-screen buff with fractional levels, configurable decimals, and adjustable skill-up messages; adds player stats to the skills panel.
- AzuClock (Azumatt) — adds a configurable on-screen clock.
