CultivateAnywhere
Lets the cultivator work on rock and cliff ground, like mountains dug down with ValheimHeightUnlocked. Terrain is never touched. Needs the mod on the server too, or a self-hosted world.CultivateAnywhere
Lets the cultivator work on rock and cliff ground, such as a mountain you dug down to sea level with ValheimHeightUnlocked. No more "This area can't be cultivated" on ground that is clearly flat and dug out.
How to use
Install it on the client and on the server (or just on the client if you host the world yourself). Then cultivate as normal. Two settings live in BepInEx/config/baka.CultivateAnywhere.cfg:
Enabled(default on) turns the bypass on or off.AllowInAshlands(default off) keeps the vanilla Ashlands rule, since Ashlands uses the same check to mark lava.
How it works
- Valheim decides where the cultivator may work from a vegetation mask that is baked into the world when it is generated.
- Rock and cliff surfaces get a low value, and digging never changes it, so dug-out mountain ground stays "not dirt" forever.
- This mod turns that one check off on the placement preview only, every frame, while you are allowed to.
- The real game objects and the terrain itself are never changed. Only the preview's check is skipped.
- Turning the mod off or leaving the server puts the vanilla rule straight back.
Compatibility
- ValheimHeightUnlocked: untouched. This mod never reads or writes terrain height or paint.
- MassFarming and PlanBuild: work fine. If they swap the placement preview, the mod picks up the new one.
- PlantEverything: still decides which crops may be planted in which biome. Any piece that uses the same dirt check skips it too (the log names each one the first time you select it); which crops grow where is still up to vanilla or PlantEverything.
- Server sanction: on a dedicated server the bypass only switches on if the server runs this mod too. Players without the mod can still join.
