⚔️ Balrond Battle Flow
Overview
Balrond Battle Flow is a gameplay overhaul focused on the Adrenaline system, Trinkets, and combat momentum.
The goal of the mod is to transform Adrenaline from a simple resource into a complete combat mechanic that rewards aggression, positioning, weapon mastery, and resource management.
This mod does not add new weapons, armor, creatures, or building pieces.
Instead it reworks and expands existing combat systems.
Core Features
Adrenaline Overhaul
Adrenaline is now a central combat mechanic.
As Adrenaline rises, players gain access to multiple layers of bonuses:
- Increased weapon effectiveness
- Weapon specialization bonuses
- Scaling trinket power
- Surge and Overcharge mechanics
- Improved combat decision making
Managing Adrenaline efficiently becomes an important part of surviving difficult encounters.
Weapon Specialization System
Every weapon category can trigger unique combat bonuses based on:
- Current Adrenaline level
- Weapon skill level
- Weapon type
Different weapons reward different playstyles.
Examples:
- Swords reward aggressive sustained combat
- Spears reward mobility and precision
- Clubs reward stagger pressure
- Bows reward positioning and stamina management
- Magic rewards resource control
Trinket Rework
All supported Trinkets have been redesigned.
Vanilla Trinkets originally granted a powerful temporary effect when maximum Adrenaline was reached.
Balrond Battle Flow replaces this system with:
- Passive scaling effects
- Continuous Adrenaline interaction
- Dynamic power growth
- Better build diversity
- Clear combat identity for every Trinket
The stronger your Adrenaline becomes, the stronger your Trinket becomes.
Scaling Trinket System
Every Trinket now scales between:
- 0% Power at 0 Adrenaline
- 100% Power at 100 Adrenaline
Tooltips display:
- Current Adrenaline
- Current Power
- Current bonus values
- Maximum possible bonus values
This allows players to immediately understand the value they are receiving.
Surge
When reaching maximum Adrenaline:
- Surge activates
- Adrenaline remains stable for a short duration
- Players gain a brief opportunity to capitalize on peak performance
Surge represents a moment of complete combat focus.
Overcharge
If maximum Adrenaline is maintained long enough:
- Surge transitions into Overcharge
- Adrenaline begins draining
- Powerful bonuses are granted
- Temporary drawbacks are applied
Overcharge is designed as a risk versus reward mechanic.
Players must decide whether to embrace Overcharge or avoid it.
Design Philosophy
Battle Flow is built around a simple concept:
Power should come from combat momentum, not passive stat stacking.
Players are rewarded for:
- Staying engaged
- Maintaining pressure
- Using weapon mechanics
- Managing resources
- Controlling Adrenaline
The system is intended to create a more active and dynamic combat experience.
Trinket Philosophy
Every Trinket should have a unique purpose.
Examples:
- Defensive Trinkets provide armor, blocking efficiency, and survivability.
- Mobility Trinkets improve movement and stamina economy.
- Offensive Trinkets improve damage output or weapon specialization.
- Magical Trinkets improve Eitr and spellcasting efficiency.
- Utility Trinkets support niche playstyles.
No Trinket should simply be a stronger version of another.

Translation
If you see localization keys such as:
$tag_something_bal
then the translation file was not loaded correctly.
Translation files are located inside the configuration folder.
To create a new language:
- Copy an existing translation file.
- Rename it using a language supported by Valheim.
- Change only the values.
- Do not change localization keys.
