Ship Lookout — see further at sea

Languages: the mod shows no text of its own, so it works the same in every language. Its settings are described in English and in French.

Features

  • Wider view at the helm: the camera can zoom out to 20 m instead of 6 when you steer (configurable).
  • Passengers see the wind: a player seated on a chair or bench of the ship, or leaning on its mast, sees the wind indicator, like the helmsman.
  • Passengers see the rudder: the wheel and its yellow gauge show which way the helmsman steers. Seen from the bow, looking back at the helm, the gauge is mirrored, so it always turns the way the ship turns on your screen; it flips by itself when you walk to the stern or swing the camera past the helm. The sail and rudder controls stay with the helmsman.
  • Passengers zoom out too: seated or leaning on the mast, the camera can zoom out as far as at the helm.
  • Client side: each player who wants it installs it. Nothing is needed on the server.
