Valheim Dynasties

Ever wanted your Viking to settle down? Get married, have kids, and when you die your kid takes over. Meanwhile the village around you keeps growing.

Heads up: this is an early alpha. Stuff will break. Start a fresh world for it and back up your saves.

Version 0.2.5 is a solo playtest snapshot of the current development source. It cuts village stutter and adds early village life while you're away, which still needs playtesting. Farmers can take planting board requests, but selecting Farmer alone does not yet run a continuous harvest/replant cycle.

What's in it

• Recruit villagers, court them, marry, have children
• Villagers get hungry, take jobs, earn wages and remember how you treat them
• They build their own houses, with real materials and real tools
• Hurt someone one too many times and they pack up their family and leave to start their own village
• Funeral pyres and memorials for the dead

No new models. Everything uses what's already in Valheim.

Installing

With a mod manager (easiest): Get Gale or r2modman, search for Valheim Dynasties and install. BepInEx comes along automatically. Launch from the mod manager. It still starts through Steam.

If you want Steam's Play button to start it modded:

1. Download BepInExPack_Valheim here on Thunderstore (Manual Download)
2. Open your Valheim folder (Steam > Valheim > Manage > Browse local files)
3. Copy the contents of the pack's BepInExPack_Valheim folder into it: winhttp.dll, doorstop_config.ini and the BepInEx folder
4. Copy the plugins folder from this mod's zip into Valheim\BepInEx\

Done. Steam now launches modded every time. Delete winhttp.dll to go back to vanilla.

Good to know

• Single player only for now. Multiplayer is turned off.
• Checked on Valheim 1.0.20 with BepInExPack 5.4.2350. Board checks cover this build, but longer gameplay testing is still needed.
• Some long-term village stuff is still being worked on.
