WellStocked

Turn Valheim's traders into real shops: buy almost anything you have found, sell your loot to any trader, and earn your coins with orders and services.

At a glance

  • Almost every item for sale. Haldor stocks raw materials, metals, food, meads, ammo, weapons, armour, tools, seeds and trophies, each once you have found it.
  • Prices that make sense. Raw materials are priced by how long they take to gather, timed in a real world, and crafted goods by what goes into them: wood about 1.6 coins, iron scrap 8.5, a black core 600.
  • Sell your loot. Haldor, Hildir and the Bog Witch buy what you carry for 30% of the shop price. Valuables always pay their full worth.
  • Orders worth taking. Each trader posts 4 daily orders paying almost twice what selling does, plus 2 big orders paying the full shop price.
  • Services on the spot. Carry 150 more for an hour, mend all your gear anywhere, uncover the map 500 m around any spot, or find the next boss's altar.
  • Deals and real stock. Four deals a day at 20% to 40% off, and stock that sells out until the weekly restock, shared by everyone.
  • Easy to shop. Category tabs, search, sorting, a details panel and a Buy all button.

Needs Jotunn. Install it on the host or dedicated server and on every player who wants the shop; players without it can still join.

Features

Shop

  • Most items for sale. Raw materials to finished gear, items from other mods included. Haldor's own goods and items other mods give him stay on sale.
  • Every trader's own goods, always. Whatever a trader sells in the plain game (Haldor's Ymir Flesh, Megingjord, the bag upgrades and the rest) is always on the Buy list once the game offers it. Sold-out goods stay listed, marked sold out.
  • Unlocked as you go. An item goes on sale once you have held it or know its recipe, for each player separately. The host can unlock by bosses instead, both, or everything from the start.
  • Never for sale. Boss drops, boss summons and keys (bell fragments aside, below), valuables, quest items and items that can't be obtained. Gear only if it can be crafted or bought somewhere.
  • Bell fragments, when the world runs out. A world has only a few, in the Ashlands fortresses, and they never come back. Once the Queen is dead, Haldor sells them one at a time, enough for one summon per restock. The host can add other boss summons and keys, or none.
  • Upgrade idols for the Forge of Potential. Every battle and protection idol, Wooden to Bloodgold, one at a time. Each goes on sale once the boss before its biome is dead, priced like the rarest things of that biome.
  • Easy to browse. Category tabs, a search box that looks through every tab, sorting and a details panel. A bought item stays selected.

Selling

  • Every trader buys. The Sell tab pays 30% of the lowest price any trader asks. What you wear or hold is never offered. Upgraded gear pays half again per quality level; wear doesn't matter, since repairs are free.
  • Valuables at full worth. Amber, rubies, necklaces and the like are listed first, in gold. A wide Sell valuables button sells one stack per click.
  • Trader demand. Each day a trader pays full price for about 500 coins' worth of one item, then half, a quarter and an eighth, then no more until tomorrow (counted for everyone together). A mix of loot sells as usual, so a farm of high-star animals can't buy out the shop.
  • No profit from deals. Selling and orders pay at most 95% of the cheapest deal price.

Orders and big orders

  • Daily orders. Each trader posts four orders a day for a pile of one material, food or trophy from the biomes opened, at most about half a day's gathering. An order pays 57% of the shop price.
  • Shared delivery. Orders are the same for everyone. Anyone can bring part; whoever brings the last ones gets the whole reward.
  • Big orders. Each trader also has two, listed first: four times an order of something from the two furthest biomes opened, up for three days and paying the full shop price. What was brought for an unfilled one is lost.
  • Not sold while wanted. No trader sells what a big order wants until it is filled.

Deals and stock

  • Daily deals. Each day Haldor has four goods 20% to 40% off, 1 to 3 of each for everyone (a gear deal is a single piece), in their own Deals tab. A deal can show an item you haven't found yet, but only once the boss that opens its biome is dead.
  • Limited stock. Every good runs out until the trader restocks, once a week by default, at every trader, their own goods included. The details panel shows how many are left and when the next restock is.
  • Stock size. Cheap goods by the pile (up to 10 stacks, such as 200 wood), dear goods a few at a time, never more than about an hour of one player's gathering (about 10 surtling cores, 20 iron or 2 black cores a week). Gear: 2 of each piece, 1 above 750 coins.

Services

Services take effect at once. Prices below are base prices; each boss defeated in the world adds half the base price (the fortune is priced by the boss it finds instead).

Trader Service Effect Base price
Haldor Pack mule's luck Carry 150 more for an hour 80
Haldor, Hildir Mend your gear Repairs everything you carry and wear, anywhere 25
Haldor A traveller's map Click any spot on your map: the land 500 m around it is uncovered 50
Hildir Light step Running and jumping cost a third less stamina for 40 minutes 60
Hildir Warm lining Frost resistant for 40 minutes, so you don't freeze 80
Bog Witch Witch's insight Skills grow 50% faster for 30 minutes 120
Bog Witch Read your fortune Marks the nearest altar of the next unbeaten boss 150 (Eikthyr) to 13410 (the Deep North's boss)
Bog Witch Wake your Forsaken power Your Forsaken power is ready again at once 150
  • Blessings last through logging out but end when you die. One at a time: a different one replaces yours; buying the same again adds its time, up to three times as long.
  • Fortune is never charged for an altar your map already shows, and the coins come back if she finds none in your world.
  • Map sketches you don't use right away wait for your next click; a double-click to place a pin doesn't use one.
  • In a world without a map, A traveller's map and Read your fortune are not offered.

Prices

  • Timed gathering. Every raw material was timed by simulating gathering trips in a real world with the game's drop tables, rock and tree health, tool tiers and spawn rates, travel, searching and fighting included.
  • The rule. Each biome has a unit price: 3 coins in the Meadows, 1.9 times more per biome (about 140 in the Ashlands). A raw material costs half a unit plus one unit for every 3 minutes it takes to get one, counting at most 30 minutes.
  • Examples. Wood about 1.6 coins, iron scrap (about 50 seconds) 8.5, a surtling core 12, a black core 600, a gemstone about 1500.
  • Everything else. Farmable things count halfway between hunting and farming. Made things cost their ingredients and fuel plus a markup for the work. Things only a trader sells keep that trader's price, and Dyrnwyn is priced as a legend.
  • Price list. The stock is built when you enter a world and listed, with left-out items, in BepInEx/config/anwo.WellStocked.prices.txt.

How to use

  1. Open a trader. The tabs Buy, Sell, Orders and Services sit above the window.
  2. In Buy and Sell, pick a category tab on the left (each shows its line count), search or sort.
  3. Select a line; the details panel on the right explains it. Press the window's main button. Buy all (Buy tab) and Sell 1 (Sell tab) sit just below it.

Search filters every tab by name. While you type, the window's keys (E, Esc) are left alone.

Button or key Action
Buy Buys the selected good or service
Buy all Buys the selected good as many times as stock, coins and bag space allow
Sell stack Sells a full stack (or all you carry, if less) as far as the trader wants it; single gear shows Sell
Sell 1 Sells one of the selected item
Sell valuables Sells one stack of your valuables for their full worth (Buy and Sell tabs)
Deliver Adds what you carry to the selected order
Sort Switches between A to Z, cheapest first and dearest first
Esc or Enter Leaves the search box

Multiplayer

  • Install it on the host or dedicated server and on every player who wants the shop. The host sets every rule except 2 - Window and syncs it to all players.
  • Shared counts. The host keeps what has been bought, sold and delivered (in BepInEx/config/anwo.WellStocked.ledger.<world>.txt) and shares it. Deals and orders come from the world, day and trader, so everyone with the same mods sees the same ones.
  • Without WellStocked on the host, each player keeps their own counts, so one player buying the last of a good doesn't use it up for others.
  • Versions. Players without the mod can join and see the normal shop. Players with it need the host's major and minor version (any 1.2.x); keep everyone on the same version for the same shop.

Compatibility

  • The stock is built from the game's own data (recipes, stations, spawn lists, plants, trees and rocks), so items from other mods are included when their origin can be worked out.
  • Goods other mods add to a trader (Seasonality's, for one) cost WellStocked's price where it has one, so they cost the same at every trader. Players with different mod lists can see different deals.
  • The extra buttons and panel are copies of the game's own; if they can't be built, the plain window is used.

Patches: Trader.GetAvailableItems (runs last), the trader window (StoreGui), large-map clicks while you hold a map sketch, and Minimap.DiscoverLocation (only watched, for a fortune's pin).

Uninstalling

Nothing is added to the world. Bought items stay, and so do map areas and altars uncovered by services. A character keeps two small entries (an active blessing, unused map sketches) that do nothing without the mod. The ledger and price list files in BepInEx/config can be deleted.
