SpiritStorage
A spirit-bound storage vessel that holds thousands of items in one searchable, filterable grid - no stack limits. Crafts and builds straight from storage.Spirit Storage
⚠️ Multiplayer support is in testing - see Multiplayer.
Tired of rows and rows of chests? Build a Spirit Storage: a vessel bound with wandering spirits that holds everything you own in one place, in one searchable grid - with no stack limits.
Features
- One storage, everything in it. Every material is merged into a single cell with its full count - 4,812 Wood is one cell, not 97 stacks.
- Search, filter and sort. Type to search by name, toggle type filters (Food, Build, Weapons, Tools, Misc, Mods) and change the order (A-Z, Z-A, Most, Least, Type). Your filters and order are remembered.
- Craft and build straight from storage. Any Spirit Storage within 100m counts toward crafting and building. Missing materials are pulled from it automatically, and the requirement list shows what you have in total (inventory + storage), e.g.
344/10. - Works like a chest. Opening it also opens your normal inventory and crafting screen, so equipping, crafting and dragging items around all work as usual.
- Real item tooltips. Hover a cell to see the same details as in your inventory (stats, durability, weight).
- Movable, resizable window. Drag the panel wherever you like - it remembers its position. Size is configurable.
- Finite, but generous. Capacity limits how many different item types you can store (20,000 by default), not how many of each.
How to get it
Build it with the Hammer, under Furniture, near a Workbench:
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Wood | 10 |
| Greydwarf Eye | 5 |
Controls
With the storage open:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Click a stored item | Take one stack |
| Ctrl + Click a stored item | Take all of it |
| Shift + Click a stored item | Choose an exact amount |
| Ctrl + Click an item in your inventory | Store it (also works from the hotbar) |
| Drag an item out of your inventory | Store it instead of dropping it on the ground |
| Deposit All | Store everything except your hotbar, equipped gear and extra slots |
| Deposit Fill | Like Deposit All, but only items of a kind the storage already has |
| Esc or Tab | Close |
Configuration
Edit BepInEx/config/com.codex.valheim.spiritstorage.cfg (or use a config manager):
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
Storage.MaxItemTypes |
20000 | How many different item types one storage can hold |
Crafting.CraftRange |
100 | How close (meters) a storage must be to craft/build from it |
UI.PanelScale |
1.25 | Size of the storage window (0.5 - 2.5) |
Debug.VerboseLogging |
false | Log every deposit/withdraw - turn on when reporting a bug |
The window position, type filters and sort order are saved automatically.
Compatibility
- EpicLoot - magic items keep their enchantments in storage, their names and rarity colors are shown, and the enchanting table can use materials from nearby Spirit Storage.
- DropMoreLoot - withdrawn stacks follow its Item Stack Multiplier (non-stackable items stay at 1).
- ExtraSlots - Deposit All leaves your extra equipment, food, ammo and utility slots alone.
- NoVikingLeftBehind / StoreAndCraft - their "craft from chests" counts and Spirit Storage are added together in the requirement list.
Multiplayer
⚠️ Multiplayer is in testing. Single player has been tested, but multiplayer (especially several players using the same storage at once on a dedicated server) hasn't had much real-world play yet. Keep backups of your world, and please report anything odd - see Bugs and feedback below.
The server and every player must have the mod installed (same major.minor version).
Spirit Storage is built for multiplayer. The server manages every storage, so no matter how many players use it at once:
- Nothing duplicates and nothing is lost. Every deposit and withdrawal is handled by the server one at a time, all or nothing.
- Everyone can use the same storage at the same time and sees changes from other players right away.
- Crafting and building from storage just work. On a remote server the materials take a moment (your ping) to arrive when you craft; while building, they're fetched ahead of time so placing stays instant.
Bugs and feedback
If something goes wrong, turn on Debug.VerboseLogging, reproduce the problem, and include BepInEx/LogOutput.log in your report.
