Gersemi

Custom gear for the Guys Being Vikings server.

A gersemi is a treasure, something kept and handed on rather than spent. This mod is where the server's own items live: any weapon, armour or trinket made for Guys Being Vikings is added here rather than in a mod of its own.

Items are handed out. There are no recipes and nothing drops them, so ask whoever runs your server.

Install

Install on the client and the server both. These are custom items, so a machine without Gersemi cannot make sense of one lying on the ground and it will disappear when the area reloads.

Settings

Each item has its own section in BepInEx\config\gbv.valheim.gersemi.cfg, covering its colours and effects. Everything is optional and the defaults are what the server intends.

Effects are built on each player's own machine, so changing a setting changes what you see and nothing else. Everyone gets the defaults unless they change them too.

Where an effect is taken from another mod's weapon and you do not have that mod, the item falls back to one of its own. Nothing breaks and nothing needs installing.

To replace an item's model with your own, put an .obj or .glb named after it in BepInEx\config\Gersemi\.

Commands

For admins, in the console:

gersemi list	Lists everything this mod adds.
gersemi give <name>	Puts one in your pack.
gersemi probe	Reports how an item was built, for when something looks wrong.

Credits

Built for Guys Being Vikings. Models, icons and effects are generated by the mod; no artwork is copied from Valheim or any other mod.
