Lumaheim — Gamma and Brightness Controls

See your saga in a better light.

Valheim has some beautiful scenery. It helps if you can see it.

Lumaheim puts Gamma, Exposure, Contrast and Saturation directly into Valheim's existing Settings → Graphics page. Adjust the picture to suit your monitor, your room and your eyes, using sliders that look and feel like part of the game.

No extra configuration window. No hotkey to remember. Just open Graphics and tune your view.

Four controls, your choice

Gamma: brighten shadows and midtones, or deepen them if you prefer a darker picture. Range: 0.50–2.50; default: 1.00.
Exposure: raise or lower overall brightness. Range: −2.00 to +2.00 EV; default: 0.00. One positive stop doubles exposure.
Contrast: soften the difference between light and dark, or give the image more contrast. Range: 50–150%; default: 100%.
Saturation: dial colours back, boost them, or go monochrome. Range: 0–200%; default: 100%.

The neutral values preserve Valheim's original appearance. For a little more visibility at night, try a modest Gamma increase first, then adjust to taste.

Fits into the normal settings

Changes preview live in the scene behind the menu. OK saves them; Back restores your previous saved values. Switching tabs keeps your pending adjustments.

Reset Lumaheim returns all four controls to their defaults. You can save that reset with OK or cancel it with Back.

The controls use Valheim's native sliders, fonts and button styling, sit in the existing scrolling Graphics page, and connect to its controller navigation. No configuration-manager mod is required.

Personal settings, on your PC

Lumaheim is client-side. Install it on the computer you play on; your dedicated server needs no changes, and other players do not need the mod to join you.

It adjusts the rendered scene without changing world lighting, time or weather. Your preferences are local and persist between sessions. The existing colour-grading pipeline does the work, with a cached colour lookup and no additional full-screen rendering pass.

Installation

Install BepInExPack_Valheim for Valheim (BepInEx 5).
Close Valheim completely.
Extract the Lumaheim ZIP into your Valheim game folder. The DLL should end up at BepInEx/plugins/Lumaheim/Lumaheim.dll.
Launch Valheim, open Settings → Graphics, and scroll to Lumaheim, just before the quality sliders.

To uninstall, close the game and remove the Lumaheim plugin folder.

Compatibility and notes

This release targets Windows PC and Valheim's current tabbed settings interface. Older versions with a different settings system are not supported.
Mods that replace or disable colour grading may conflict or prevent these adjustments from appearing. Compatibility with every graphics mod has not been established.
These controls adjust scene rendering, rather than your monitor's hardware settings or the menu artwork. They are not an HDR calibration tool.
Preferences are saved in BepInEx/config/com.gomisan.lumaheim.cfg. If editing it manually, close the game first. Live reload through a separate configuration manager is not supported.
The initial release has passed automated native UI/rendering checks and author playtesting. Please report problems with your game version and other visual mods listed.

Thunderstore installation

Install with your mod manager, or close Valheim and copy this package's BepInEx folder into the game folder. Keep only one copy of the mod DLL. No configuration file is bundled; your existing preferences are preserved. These are client-side mods; the dedicated server does not need them.
