Scrubbed Title Screen

Customize Valheim's title screen and add a server page with images, tips and an optional Join button. This is a client-side mod; it does not need to be installed on the server. It hides the Modded Valheim warning by default.

Quick start

1. Install the mod, launch Valheim once, then close it.
2. Open your mod profile's BepInEx/config/Scrubbed_Title_Screen/ folder.
3. Copy TitleImage.png and JoinBackground.png from its Templates folder into Scrubbed_Title_Screen/. Replace the examples with your own PNGs when ready.
4. Start Valheim. Click the title image to open the server page. In a world, open the same page from the pause menu.

The Guide/HowItWorks.png file shows the layout. Your existing settings and active images are kept when updating.

Set up a server

To enable joining, open BepInEx/config/com.jpvalheim.scrubbedtitlescreen.cfg and set Address under [1. Server]. You can also set Name. Use an IP or hostname, with an optional port such as example.com:2456. Add Password only if you want the mod to enter it for you; otherwise Valheim asks when needed. The password is stored in this config file.

An address is only needed for joining. Images and tips can be used without one. Use Valheim's normal Play menu to choose a different character.

Copy the files you want from Templates into BepInEx/config/Scrubbed_Title_Screen/:

Use one tip per line; <br> starts a new line within a tip. Tips can appear over every image. By default, clicking the background advances both tips and images; change these independently or set automatic intervals in [4. Join Page] and [6. Join Page Tips].

Title images have 15 UI pixels of extra hover area by default. Adjust Extra hover area under [2. Title Image]; 0 restores the original target.

Normal and hover images should use the same canvas size and alignment. Set their positions and scales in [2. Title Image] and [5. Join Page Button]. Optional hover sounds, title-screen tips and a custom changelog are explained in Templates/README.md.

After changing files or the config, restart Valheim or run sts reload in the game console. If a replacement file cannot be read, the last working asset remains in use.
