Changelog

0.6.0

Tailwind at sea. Update the server and all clients together.

  • Tailwind speeds up the ship its drinker is aboard: +4–10% under sail with aging, and every puff fills the sail with a short gust (+10%, a special one +20%).
  • Against the wind the wine fills the sail too: a little faster than rowing (9–27%). Server admins can tune it or switch it off in the new [Tailwind] section; the sounds and puffs stay.
  • Valheim 1.0.17: wine vessels, recipe books and notes keep their colour when loaded — no more "Variant index … does not exist" errors; books and notes that already lost their colour get it back.

Compiled against Valheim v1.0.17 & BepInEx 5.4.2351.

0.5.0

The winemaker's table. Update the server and all clients together.

  • Winemaker's table — a shared recipe book, like the cartography table: write down the wines you know, read what others have found, leaf through a page for every wine. Wines not yet in the book or your journal stay grey.
  • Recipe books and winemaker's notes in location chests, in the lands where you can find all of a wine's ingredients. A recipe book gives the whole recipe and adds the wine's quote to the table's book; notes are riddles and fragments to finish by experiment.
  • Craft notes become the book's first chapter — a guide to the whole craft.
  • New hammer-menu icons for the trellis, the press, both barrels and the table.
  • New settings [WinemakerTable] and [RecipeLoot]. For mod authors: API 2 — notes, recipe books, craft pages, loot chests.
  • Fixed (all earlier versions): with MultiUserChest, right-clicking a wine vessel in a chest another player had open destroyed the vessel.
  • Saves from 0.4 keep working.

0.4.1

A bug fix and a sound tweak. No changes to saves or network data; compatible with 0.4.0 on the same server (the sleep fix works for players who have 0.4.1).

  • Joke wines no longer fade out after sleeping: Tailwind keeps going and Firefly wine sparks keep glowing until the effect really ends. Before, sleeping ended the sounds and sparks while the effect itself stayed on. Tailwind is quiet while you sleep.
  • Tailwind can be heard up to 30 m (was 10 m) and fades out smoothly with distance, like the vanilla mead burp. Up close it is a little louder than before.

0.4.0

Special wines. Update the server and all clients together.

  • The grape press takes additives — certain items from different biomes: one per 6 fruits (2/4/6), at most two kinds, two kinds in equal parts. The start button says what is wrong with the count.
  • The same fruits plus the right additives ferment into one of 11 special wines. Each has its own trait instead of a regeneration bonus — nothing a mead gives — and the trait grows with aging. The wrong additive spoils the wine. Which additive goes with which fruits is for you to find out.
  • Wines without additives are unchanged: same names, bonuses and saves.
  • The press has 8 slots (was 6). Presses from 0.3 keep their contents.

0.3.0

The grape press now works like a chest. Update the server and all clients together.

  • The press opens the vanilla chest window with 6 slots: drag, split stacks, "Place stacks", "Take all"; the hotbar (1–8) still adds one fruit. The title shows the load ("Grape press · 24/36").
  • Only fruits go in, up to 36 — the rest stays with you. Up to 6 kinds of fruit per batch.
  • "Start pressing" works at exactly 12, 24 or 36 fruits and otherwise says what is missing. The finished must waits in a slot.
  • The must vessel and the wine made from it show who started the pressing ("Crafted by").
  • The fermentation barrel is smaller, so it is not mixed up with the vanilla fermenter. The wine tooltip no longer shows the time to the next star (the aging barrel does).
  • Presses from 0.2 are converted on first load (fruits that don't fit the 6 slots are dropped next to the vat). Existing wines are unchanged.
  • Works with MultiUserChest, AzuCraftyBoxes and Quick Stack Store: one player at a time uses the press, and crafting doesn't take fruits from it.
  • For mod authors: add press ingredients and wine recipes via Winemaking.Api.WinemakingApi.
  • Built for Valheim 1.0.16.

0.2.1

Bug fixes only. No changes to saves or network data; compatible with 0.2.0 on the same server.

  • Picking up or dropping a wine you already know now shows its real name in the "added" / "dropped" message on screen (it always said "Unknown wine").
  • The "Young" label on wine vessel slots could be drawn backwards when the MyLittleUI mod was installed. It is now always readable.
  • The "Young" label no longer covers the slot number on the quick-access bar: it is narrower and shrinks to fit.

0.2.0

Tasting update. The server and all clients must update together (new wine data; Jötunn does not let 0.1.x clients join a 0.2.0 server). Existing vines, barrels, batches and wines are kept.

  • Unknown wine: fermentation no longer tells whether a batch succeeded. Every vessel shows "Unknown wine" with its ingredients, colour and aroma notes until you taste it; the first sip reveals the name and effect for you (a personal journal kept with your character).
  • Eight kinds of spoiled wine instead of one: poison, vomiting, a lower carry limit, tunnel-vision blindness, slowness, sluggish stamina and their combinations. Old spoiled wine becomes one of them by its ingredients.
  • Any wine can be aged, and stars strengthen harmful effects too.
  • Joke wines grow with aging: Tailwind gets more frequent, louder and gains rare special sounds; Firefly sparks get bigger and more numerous; the skald sings more often.
  • Wine age: each vessel shows the day it was made and the days spent in the aging barrel (counted past ★★★).
  • New status icons; new per-player options ReducedParticles and BlindnessCircleBonus.

0.1.2

  • New mod icon. No gameplay changes; compatible with 0.1.0 and 0.1.1 on the same server.

0.1.1

  • Mod page: removed the sound credits section. No gameplay changes; compatible with 0.1.0 on the same server.

0.1.0

First release.

  • Three grape varieties (pale, dark, sun) as food, and vine cuttings.
  • Wild grapevines at vanilla locations: Meadows farms, villages and abandoned houses, Black Forest stone towers, Fuling camps.
  • A dark vine cutting can drop from Greydwarf shamans.
  • Planting: a trellis for two vines, planted with the cultivator; vines grow in world time, can be harvested, pruned or dug up.
  • Grape press: load 12/24/36 fruits and stomp them barefoot — jumping pays more than running, a run-up and a jump pay the most.
  • Fermenting barrel (2 in-game days) and aging barrel (up to ★★★): 10 wines with small regeneration bonuses, spoiled wine, and three joke wines.
  • English and Russian texts; config descriptions in both languages.
