I vibe-coded this BepInEx plugin to let you 1) table-craft from nearby storage chests, 2) hammer-build from nearby storage chests, 3) send inventory materials to nearby storage chests, and 4) refuel fires and factory buildings from nearby storage chests. It works in singleplayer AND multiplayer, and NOTHING goes on the server. It should act like the vanilla game, except you are reaching out with very long arms; you'll even hear storage chests open/close in the distance lol.

You can tweak storage use in the config file: 1) reduce the range (by default it's 64m, 3x more than crafting table range), 2) change which storage containers are used (by default only regular chests, so items are protected in barrels, carts, ships, personal chests, etc), and 3) set a minimum protected quantity of each item in all containers (like wood:69 so you can always get some). There are also some in-game reservation features: 1) put between 2-100 plain wood arrows in the top-right slot of a container to reserve that many of everything in the container, and 2) exclude a container altogether by placing just 1 wood arrow in the top-right slot.

"Store Nearby" sends most world materials to the nearest chest with that material in it. Reserved inventory stuff includes your gear, ammo, crafted food, potions, keys, and anything in your top hotbar. You can tweak this in the config by adding items to the AlwaysKeep and AlwaysSend variables. For example, if you use honey and blueberries as food and you don't want them disappearing, add "honey,blueberries" to the AlwaysKeep variable. You can rename the "Store Nearby" button, so non-English people can localize it, or you can delete the title to make it a cute square.
