MySix Iron Cultivator

The game's Cultivator plants one crop per click, and a crop set too close to another won't grow. The Iron Cultivator plants a whole 5x5 bed, up to 25 crops, in one click, each spaced to grow to full size. Before you plant, any spot where a crop could not be planted or would not grow shows red.

  • Recipe: made at the Forge from 5 Core Wood and 5 Iron - the Cultivator's own recipe with iron for bronze. Learned as soon as you have picked up both.
  • Works just like the Cultivator until you hold Alt (Option on a Mac), or block on a controller.
  • The 5x5 grid then shows crops around where you aim, each spaced for its full-grown size, with a little to spare, so no crop stops its neighbour growing.
  • Each crop sits where the game would put it: on the ground beneath it, however uneven, or on a floor or anything else in the way.
  • Turn the grid with the mouse wheel (or the right stick with block held). It keeps its turn from one bed to the next.
  • Red spots show where the crop could not be planted or would not grow: not on cultivated ground, the wrong biome, too hot (the Ashlands, outside a shield generator's dome), a roof overhead, or another crop or anything else too close - now, or once it and the crops beside it have grown. Placing plants every spot that is not red.
  • One seed per crop. With fewer seeds than good spots, the seeds go to the middle ones and the rest show red.
  • Stamina and tool wear are the same as planting one crop.
  • Vines still go one at a time.
  • Everyone who plays together needs it, the server included. An Iron Cultivator in your bags is lost if you later remove the mod.
  • Setting IronCultivator.AllOrNothing (each player's own, off by default): a grid goes in whole or not at all. If any of its 25 spots can't be planted, only the middle crop is planted, as with the normal cultivator.

Part of the MySix mod suite. Every mod in the suite needs MySix Core, which adds the in-game mysix command for reading and changing settings. Settings are kept in the world itself, so a world plays the same on any computer or server: a setting for everyone is changed once, by the host or a server admin, and each player's own choices are kept in the world for that player.

Installing

Install with a mod manager - the Thunderstore Mod Manager, Gale and r2modman all work - and it fetches BepInEx and MySix Core for you. To install by hand, install BepInExPack_Valheim first, then unzip the DLL of MySix Core and of each MySix mod you want into BepInEx/plugins. Everyone playing together should run the same versions.

Settings

The Settings wiki page lists this mod's 3 settings: what each does, its choices and default, who can change it, and the exact command to type. In short: press F5 in game to open the console (if nothing opens, add -console to Valheim's launch options) and type mysix to list every setting, mysix set <setting> <value> to change one.

Languages

What the MySix mods show you in play - the names and descriptions of their items and portals, their messages on screen, and the Cartographer's map tab and marks - is in the language you play Valheim in, in every language the game offers except Abenaki, which shows English for now as we could not find a translation we trust. The mysix console command, the setting descriptions it prints, the Settings wiki pages and the warnings before a server restart are in English only. We mainly test in English; if something reads wrong in your language, please let us know.

Note on achievements

Valheim switches achievements off for anyone with a mod installed. MySix Mods Not Cheating, part of the MySix bundle, keeps them working.

Version 1.0.7. The Changelog tab lists what changed in each release.
