MySix ProgressivePortals
In testing: Valheim's portals won't take ore or metal. These four portals unlock biome by biome, each carrying the metals of the biomes you've already beaten.MySix ProgressivePortals
In testing. An early version for the MySix group to try out: it may change, and anything odd is worth reporting.
Valheim's portals won't take ore or metal, so every haul goes home by boat or cart. Progressive Portals adds a better portal for each biome you conquer, from the Swamp to the Mistlands. Each is built from that biome's materials and lets through the metals of every biome before it, so your portals grow with you.
- Bone Portal (Swamp): 20 Ancient Bark, 2 Surtling Cores, 10 Withered Bone. Lets through copper, tin and bronze, and their ores and scrap. Glows yellow-green.
- Frozen Portal (Mountains): 20 Fine Wood, 2 Surtling Cores, 10 Freeze Glands. Adds iron. Glows icy blue.
- Black Portal (Plains): 20 Core Wood, 2 Surtling Cores, 10 Tar. Adds silver and dragon eggs. Glows orange.
- World Tree Portal (Mistlands): 20 Yggdrasil Wood, 2 Surtling Cores, 10 Eitr. Adds black metal. Glows green drifting to light blue, and crackles with lightning.
- The Ashlands' stone portal still takes everything, as in the game.
- The teleport screen takes the colour of the portal you step into.
- Built with the Hammer, in the Misc tab next to the wooden portal, near a workbench. You learn each one once you have picked up all three of its materials.
- Connect like any portal: give two portals the same tag. Any two portals pair, whatever their kind; the portal you step into decides what may come with you.
- Still blocked everywhere: flametal, Bloodgold, Petrified Tissue, Dvergr extractors, mechanical springs and charred cogwheels.
- Setting
ProgressivePortals.NoWorkbench(server, off by default): build them anywhere, with no workbench. - Setting
ProgressivePortals.HildirChests(server, off by default): Hildir's chests pass from the portal of the biome after the one each is found in - Brass from the Bone Portal up, Silver from the Black Portal up, Bronze through the World Tree Portal. - Everyone who plays together needs it, the server included. Portals built from it disappear if the mod is removed.
Part of the MySix mod suite. Every mod in the suite needs MySix Core, which adds the
in-game mysix command for reading and changing settings. On a server, settings are owned by
the server: an admin changes a value once and every connected player picks it up.
Installing
Install with a mod manager - the Thunderstore Mod Manager, Gale and r2modman all work - or unzip
the DLL into BepInEx/plugins yourself. Everyone playing together should run the same versions.
Settings
Press F5 in game and type mysix to list every setting, or edit
BepInEx/config/com.mysix.*.cfg.
Languages
Every MySix mod supports all the languages Valheim offers: whatever language you play the game in, the text these mods show is in that language too. Abenaki is the one exception for now - there it shows in English, as we could not find a translation we trust. We mainly test in English, but we will do our best to support every language the game supports; if something reads wrong in yours, please let us know.
Note on achievements
Valheim switches achievements off for anyone with a mod installed. MySix Mods Not Cheating, part of the MySix bundle, keeps them working.
Version 0.5.2. The Changelog tab lists what changed in each release.
