Rusty Heathens ServerSync 1.0.0

Conservative server diagnostics and guarded bounded network scheduling for Heathens' Haven.

ServerSync does not replace Valheim networking. It instruments the existing send cycle and, when explicitly enabled on a compatible dedicated server, can allow a tightly bounded additional pass through the same native scheduler.

Current compatibility

• Valheim 1.0.16 and 1.0.17 only.
• Network version 40.
• BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2351.

Unknown game/network versions fail closed. The bounded scheduler also stays disabled if the reviewed network method fingerprints do not match.

Modes

Observe is the safe default for new configs. It records compact diagnostics and adds no network-send work.

BoundedScheduler is an experimental dedicated-server option. It may invoke Valheim's existing round-robin send method one additional time in an update when the configured frame, budget, save-cooldown, compatibility, and overlap guards allow it.

Existing configs are preserved when upgrading.

What it does not change

ServerSync does not alter packet formats, send-queue limits, ZDO ownership, inventories, chest contents, world data, or save formats. It also does not enforce the approved-mod allowlist; that remains a separate ModGuard responsibility.

Installation

Install the same ServerSync version in the shared profile and on the dedicated server. The scheduler activates only on a compatible dedicated server; clients remain observation-only.

For manual installation, place RustyHeathensServerSync.dll under a BepInEx plugin folder and restart Valheim/server.

Diagnostics

When reporting an issue, include the relevant [RHSS] lines from BepInEx/LogOutput.log, the Valheim version, BepInExPack version, ServerSync version, and configured mode.
