Shack Dig Deeper
Dig and raise the ground as far as you want: lifts the game's 8 m limit on terrain changes (pickaxe, hoe). Admin settings can set your own limits. The server and every player need it.Shack Dig Deeper
Dig as deep as you want, and raise the ground as high as you want. The game never lets you move the ground more than 8 m from where the world made it: the pickaxe stops digging, and the hoe stops leveling and raising. This mod lifts that limit.
How it works
- By default there is no limit either way: keep digging with the pickaxe, level with the hoe, or raise ground as far as you like.
- The ground is still the game's height map, so you get deeper pits, moats, basements and taller earth walls, but not tunnels or caves under the surface.
- Wards, no-build areas (dungeons, boss altars) and everything else work as in the base game.
- Shack Better Paths 1.1.0 (the version in The Shack Pack) still keeps its path grading within the game's 8 m: grading a path with the hoe's Pathen across a spot dug deeper than 8 m (or raised higher) brings that strip back to 8 m. Level ground and Raise ground aren't affected.
Settings (theshack.digdeeper.cfg)
Admin-only, and synced from the server:
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Enabled | true | Off: the game's own 8 m limit both ways. |
| Dig depth limit | 0 | How far below the original ground you can dig or level, in meters. 0 = no limit. |
| Raise height limit | 0 | How far above the original ground you can raise it, in meters. 0 = no limit. |
Multiplayer
- The server and every player need it, at the same minor version. Each player's game draws the ground with the limit, and whoever's game looks after an area applies digs there, so Jotunn turns away anyone without it.
- Safe to remove, with one catch: nothing is lost, but without the mod (or with it off) anything past 8 m shows at 8 m again, so very deep holes look 8 m deep until the mod is back.
