ItemIntegrity.ServerOnly

Server-only world cleaner for Valheim. No client installation is required.

This binary package contains ItemIntegrity.ServerOnly 0.2.0-preview.1, using Thunderstore package version 0.2.0. It is an independent implementation, not an official Ageous27-NoCheatItems release.

Preview limitations: This build does not scan or remove items in a player's carried/equipped inventory on joining. Container and stand removal is deferred until every player has disconnected. Dry-run is enabled by default.

What it cleans

Location Behavior
Ground drops Scans serialized server world records, including records without a locally instantiated Unity object. When deletion is enabled, backs up matches, requests native network destruction, and checks server-record disappearance.
Chests, carts, ships, and tombstones Scans native container inventories. Removal waits until the server has been empty for at least 15 seconds, with additional stable-record checks for serialized edits.
Item and armor stands Checks attached item flags and prohibited prefab names. Removes the attachment, not the stand, during the same empty-server maintenance window.

Default detection covers the native cheated-item flag and the debug prefabs SwordCheat and SledgeCheat. Additional exact prefab names can be configured. An extra-prefab rule also matches legitimate copies of the named item.

What it does not do

It does not clean a player's bag on connection, force players to drop their inventory, kill or disconnect them to expose inventory, or require a client mod. It does not edit offline character saves or unloaded save chunks, undo character achievement/cheat status, or remove overstacked/over-quality items. Unknown custom storage and unsupported or malformed serialized data are skipped. It is not a complete anti-cheat or inventory-import prevention system.

Install

Install on the dedicated server only. Back up the world and use a test copy before enabling actual removal. Do not run this cleaner alongside the original NoCheatItems or the earlier client-required ItemIntegrity.

  1. Ensure BepInExPack Valheim is installed on the server. The manifest declares denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim-5.4.2350.
  2. Stop the server and disable the previous cleaner through its mod manager so it is not automatically restored. Keep old cleaner DLLs outside the entire active BepInEx/plugins tree.
  3. For a manager that supports local Thunderstore ZIP packages, import this ZIP into the server installation. For manual installation, copy ItemIntegrity.ServerOnly.dll into BepInEx/plugins/ItemIntegrity.ServerOnly/.
  4. Start the server to generate BepInEx/config/local.valheim.itemintegrity.serveronly.cfg.

No existing configuration is included or overwritten by this package. The plugin uses a new config identity and does not import ageous27.nocheatitems.cfg.

Configuration

Section Setting Default
General Enabled true
General DryRun true
Detection RemoveFlaggedItems true
Detection RemoveKnownCheatPrefabs true
Detection ExtraPrefabNames empty
Scan WorldDrops true
Scan Containers true
Scan ItemAndArmorStands true
Server WorldSweepSeconds 8
Server RecordsPerFrame 128
Server FrameBudgetMilliseconds 2
Safety MaximumEditsPerWorldSweep 100
Safety MaximumQuarantineMiB 256

DryRun = true logs matches without removing them. After validating detection on backed-up test data, stop the server and change the generated configuration:

[General]
Enabled = true
DryRun = false

Restart the server. Container and stand removal still requires all players to leave; the 15-second grace is a minimum, not a promise of removal at exactly 15 seconds. Sweep length, stable observations, and edit limits can add delay. Keep ExtraPrefabNames empty for native cheated-flag detection; listing Wood would also prohibit legitimate Wood.

Server console

itemintegrity_status
itemintegrity_scan
itemintegrity_reload

These commands run inside the dedicated-server game console, not a Linux shell or a remote player's F5 console. A requested scan does not bypass dry-run or safety gates. Reload resets the empty-server grace period.

Safety and verification

Pre-change payload backups are stored beneath BepInEx/config/ItemIntegrity.ServerOnly/quarantine/. Backup failure or reaching the configured quota blocks deletion. These payloads are not complete world backups; automatic restore and pruning are not included.

The supplied build records report 2,212 passing C# core assertions and a successful netstandard2.1 compilation with 0 errors and 1 CS0108 warning. These are build-time results, not in-game validation. Runtime cleanup, save persistence, and compatibility with other mods still require staging tests. The reviewed game target is Valheim 1.0.12 / network 40, item/inventory format 109.

This packaging step did not recompile, patch, or rename the DLL. Its startup release string still contains the original source-preview wording. Inspect the [native-codec PASS], [world-sweep], and [status] messages rather than treating startup alone as successful cleanup.

Andi is the local distribution namespace used for this ZIP. Packaging does not publish it or establish ownership of a Thunderstore team. No project website was supplied, so the manifest website field is empty.

The ZIP uses a flat root layout like the reference package. The compiled DLL, manifest.json, README.md, CHANGELOG.md, icon.png, LICENSE, NOTICE.md, and SHA256SUMS.txt are at the root. Source files, build logs, debug symbols, runtime libraries, and game binaries are intentionally excluded.
