About us

ValheimAddicts is a small community who are passionate about Valheim. We are running different servers at different times like vanilla, beginner, creative, hardcore or total conversion setups. While doing so we are quite active in the Valheim modding and server operating communities.

About the server

The Bjorgyn server is meant to test and learn about the new Mistland changes. It is set up as "Casual/Easy/Beginner/QoL" server.

While configured with easy game difficulty we also added a lot of time sparing quality of life settings to not waste the time of our players. Sooner or later we will switch back to a more challenging setup again.

Features

The following changes were made to the setup (list might be incomplete)

Behavior changes

• Bigger dungeons = more fun and resources
• Instant item pickups (no longer 2 seconds wait)
• Improved slope combat (no more missing mobs because you don't have high ground)
• Server characters (no cluttering with existing characters)
• Gamma changed (making the nights and dungeons more enjoyable for beginners/casuals)
• Improved AutoRun feature (use mouse direction/sprint/jump while auto running)
• Improved ship speed (even more if you don't sail alone)
• See all players on the map (no hiding pal)
• More Bronze (1 Tin + 2Copper = 1 Bronze? No more!)
• Chat window popup on new messages/always shout (easier interaction with all the other players)
• Wishbone and Wisplight can be equipped together with belt
• OCD friendly terrain manipulation
• You can plant every type of plant of the game in your base (yay, finally real gardening)
• You can grow any fruit in any biome (no need to spread bases to different biomes only for e.g. grain)
• Tree chopping made easier (Green Peace won't be happy about this)
• Ballista's no longer shooting you (yay! finally! I am FRIENDLY DAMMIT!)
• Auto equipping/undeploying shield with one handed weapons (one more free weapon slot)
• Auto reequip weapons after swimming

Difficulty

• Game runs on easy (no need to rebuild you base after a night out)
• Increased weight limit (base+belt) + Backpacks to craft (no more time waste for running back and forth)
• Increased inventory size (base+backpacks) (even less running back and forth)
• Reduced stamina drain/quicker recovery for basic tasks like running/woodchopping/mining (do more in less time)

UI

• Auga compatible (mainly), some of our features might not work though (like Multi-Craft)
• Improved vanilla UI with more tooltips
• PlanBuild available
• Multi-Craft (no more 10 clicks to create a stack of items. Enter a number and off you go)
• Fancy compass on the top of the screen showing directions and map pins (never get lost again)
• Notifications will be stacked
• Deposit all your loot in surrounding chests with one key (one click and you are ready again for adventure, yay!)

New items

• Improved Ward configuration and new types of Wards
• Seed Totems will help with the farm work
• Pressure plates will never let you run into doors again

Technical

• Compressed data transfer (less bandwidth)
• Reduced console spam (little performance boost for otherwise useless information)

Installation

We recommend to create a new profile in r2modman (named e.g. like "ValheimAddicts-Bjorgyn") and only add this mod to that profile. If updates are available on the mod always do them before connecting. We release the client package together with server updates.

Additional recommended configurations

HD-Valheim

On Nexus-Mods you can download an awesome HD-Mod for Valheim changing the Minecraft look of vanilla Valheim to at least a comic/anime like ambiente. This is no normal modpack installable by r2modman, so you have to manually download it and extract it in the Valheim folder. You need a free account at nexus mods to be able to download there. Although this seems to be kind of complicated, personally I think it's worth the efford since it boosts the Valheim experience a lot.

We recommend to change your ingame keybindings to avoid conflicts with the default mod settings. Change your keys to the following:
