Search Bar Plus 2.0.1

Search Bar Plus is a client-side Valheim mod that adds fast recipe and chest search tools while keeping the vanilla Improvements workflow intact.

Features

Recipe search

• Search recipes in the inventory, workbench, forge, cauldron, and other crafting panels.
• Search the localized item name with case-insensitive, accent-insensitive, multi-word matching.
• Use partial mod names with @, including quoted names with spaces: @reef axe or @"Reef Packs" backpack.
• Search input is available on both Production and Improvements tabs.
• Crafting and chest search text use separate memory settings.

Quantity crafting

• Production-only quantity input with minus, plus, and direct numeric editing.
• Quantity means recipe executions. A recipe that creates 20 arrows produces 1,500 arrows at quantity 75.
• Resource requirements, output labels, and craft time scale with the selected quantity.
• Crafting is disabled when the selected quantity cannot be supplied.
• The vanilla Shift/AltPlace modifier is ignored while the custom Production row is active.
• During crafting, the row becomes Cancel and the progress bar stays beside the action button.
• The Improvements tab keeps the vanilla Improve button and behavior.
• Compatible with detected chest-pulling crafting mods: recipe requirements and the custom craft button use the native patched resource checks, while the selected craft quantity remains exact.

Chest tools

• Search opened chests and containers by localized item name.
• Matching items are packed into the visible grid while slot interaction remains intact.
• Clear the search to restore the original grid.
• Sort chest contents alphabetically with the compact sort button below the weight indicator.

Recipe category filters

• Vertical, single-selection filters for All, Weapons, Armor, Consumables, Construction, Other, and detected mod sources.
• Selecting the active category returns to All.
• Mod categories are created only for mods that provide visible recipes and wrap after 20 entries per column.
• Built-in categories keep a stable vertical order when exclusions change; visible buttons remain compact with no gaps.
• Category tooltips use the vanilla style after one second and follow the selected game language.
• Armor, weapons, consumables, and construction use generated chest-plate, crossed-swords, potion, and hammer sprites instead of item images or unsupported font glyphs.
• ExcludedRecipeCategories can hide built-in categories, all mod categories, or matching mod names.

Language and compatibility

• Search, craft, cancel, and category labels support 35 language identifiers with English fallback.
• Does not require server installation or Jötunn.
• Keeps Valheim's unlocked recipes, requirements, and recipe order.
• Only the repetitive vanilla Setting selected recipe diagnostic is suppressed; other logs remain available.

Configuration Manager

Gameplay features are enabled by default. Craft debug logging is disabled by default and is intended only for troubleshooting.

Important settings:

• EnableCraftSearch: show recipe search fields.
• EnableCraftQuantity: enable Production quantity crafting.
• EnableModSearch: enable @mod recipe filtering.
• KeepCraftSearchText and KeepChestSearchText: remember each search independently.
• EnableChestSearch: show chest search.
• EnableChestSort: show the chest sort button.
• EnableRecipeTypeFilters: show recipe category filters.
• KeepRecipeTypeFilters: keep the selected category after closing the interface.
• ExcludedRecipeCategories: comma-separated category or mod names to omit. Supported built-in names are Weapons, Armor, Consumables, Construction, and Other; use Mods to hide every mod category. Partial mod names are accepted. All is always kept.
• EnableCraftDebugLogs: write craft diagnostics to the BepInEx log; disabled by default.

Configuration Manager organizes these settings under 00 - Toggles, 10 - Search, 20 - Recipe Filters, 30 - Chest, and 40 - Diagnostics.

Installation

1. Close Valheim.
2. Install with r2modman/Thunderstore, or extract CraftSearch-2.0.1.zip into the folder containing valheim.exe.
3. Confirm that BepInEx/plugins/CraftSearch/CraftSearch.dll exists.
4. Start Valheim through BepInEx.

To uninstall, close the game and remove CraftSearch.dll from the plugin folder.

Known limitations

This mod targets Valheim's standard UI. Complete UI replacements such as Auga may require additional adaptation. Layout, scaling, controller input, and interactions with other UI mods should be checked after installation.
