A leash and chains of bronze, iron and black metal for every tame creature: lead up to three, chain them to any wall, post or tree, each metal reaching farther, tie them to a rail, take them through portals and aboard.
Two ways to tie up, chosen at the wall: E lets the animal roam within reach and guard (a chained wolf goes for a foe that comes within reach, and lets one beyond its chain go), Shift+E makes it keep still (no wandering, chasing or fleeing; it only fetches food within reach). The crosshair offers both, the hover text of a tied animal tells which it is.
Both ways are tried on every tameable creature of the game and of Elemental Dragons, Wolfborn and Cluck Fighters: bears, chickens and hens, dragons of every element and age, hatchlings, wolves, boars, lox, asksvin and all the young ones.
Only tame creatures ever take a leash; a wild one refuses it and you keep it.
No more log warnings about other mods' types at start.
1.1.0
Chains: bronze (10 m), iron (20 m) and black metal (30 m) besides the hemp leash (4 m), each with its own look, collar and recipe at the forge. A chain is drawn link by link and follows the rope's true hanging curve.
Tie up anywhere: look at a wall, post, fence, tree or rock while you lead animals and press E. Each is tied fast there with the whole length of its rope or chain, with a ring of the same metal on the wall.
Tied fast, an animal lives as it does at home: it grazes, wanders, eats and guards, but only within reach. It never strains at the end of its chain, and walks back if it ends up beyond it. A wall torn down or a tree felled lets the chain go loose.
Every tame creature takes the leash: what counts is the game's own tame state, so creatures of a later game update or of other mods, and creatures tamed by other mods' own means, take it as soon as they are tame. Thralls and summoned helpers do not.
The leash item works on any part of an animal you look at (saddle, tack, harness).
Lengths, costs and stations of all four in the configuration.
1.0.0
First release: a leash for every tame animal, up to three at once, walking side by side behind you on a real rope.
Hens and young animals (cubs, piglets, calves, chicks) take the leash too, and keep it when they grow up.
The rope holds and drags, but never through walls, sleds or carts. A stuck animal hops over low obstacles to you.
Hitching rail with four rings: tied animals wait there and eat only what lies within reach of the rope, troughs included.
Animals on the leash come through portals, jump aboard ships after you, and can be tied to the ship to sail with it. Animals too big for a ship stay ashore.
A loose leash when the holder leaves, the leash slips, or another player mounts the animal. A dead animal drops its leash.
The collar is fitted to the skin each animal's neck bones move. The rope is drawn as a parabola of its true length.
Works beside Cluck Fighters, Wolf Riding, Better Riding, Wolfborn, Elemental Dragons, Feeding Troughs, Starborn Breeding and LoxCarts.
