LoxWagon
Lox-drawn Cargo and Nomad Wagons with staged storage, a furnished cabin, bed, workbench, cartography and lanterns. Public singleplayer testing; pre-1.0. Multiplayer is not supported.Changelog
0.11.0
Public Thunderstore testing release for singleplayer. Pre-1.0; multiplayer remains unverified and unsupported.
- Turn the exterior shield's native model around so its front faces outward. Preserve its position, size and hanging lean.
- Shift starboard exterior cargo and its attachments 16 cm aft, excluding the shield.
- Move the spare wheel 32 cm outward and 8 cm lower, with a 7-degree hanging lean. Preserve its native size and permanent visibility. The tarp is unchanged.
- Replace angular wheel lashings with rounded lower-rim cradles, returning ropes and complete fixed rail hitches.
- Give the spare wheel the same sway, settling and acceleration response as ordinary exterior cargo. Ropes follow the wheel while their frame ends stay attached. No separate rigid body or forces are added.
- Carry forward 0.10.9 weather, travel access, cartography and material changes. Update public documentation; no dimensioner is included.
Validation
Compilation and local geometry/resource checks pass. Reference checks preserve the tarp and shield placement exactly and verify the cargo/rope shift. Authored wheel/fur clearance remains positive at rest and at the tested full sway/bob limits. Native shield facing, fur loft, rope appearance and motion still require Valheim testing.
0.10.9
Public Thunderstore testing release for singleplayer. Pre-1.0; multiplayer remains unverified and unsupported.
Fixed and changed
- Limit Nomad snow to the Mountains and Deep North. A deployed cover protects the cabin while the canopy and exposed surfaces receive snow; removing the cover exposes the interior. Split baked surfaces along the authored canopy footprint and keep snow material changes local to each wagon.
- Allow rear boarding and alternate-use Lie Down while a lox is hitched. Boarding inherits wagon velocity. Normal sleeping still requires stopping, unhitching and the vanilla sleep conditions.
- Add a permanent, native-sized spare wagon wheel and two retaining lashings on the starboard exterior. Move the two adjacent hanging crates and their attachments forward.
- Add a permanent compact cartography table on the port side at the foot of the bed. Use Hildir's table model with normal MapTable behavior: red ink bowl records discoveries and the map reads shared discoveries. Map data saves on the wagon separately from inventory. A fitted native cartography table remains available if the Hildir location asset is delayed or unavailable.
- Remap the rear roll and front skin to include the native lox rug's pale, irregular pelt border while retaining the wispy fur layer, accepted geometry and exposed roll ends.
- Reduce roll-end detail to a coarser, lower-contrast texture that better fits the surrounding art.
- Preserve storage, recipes, health, mass, main canopy coverage, workbench, bed, lighting, cargo progression and saved controls. No dimensioner is delivered.
Validation
Compiled against the supplied Valheim/BepInEx assemblies. Checks cover the shipping DLL's snow policy and map-network binding, pelt-border mapping, fixture clearance, exact retained front-cover shape, roof coverage, cargo stages and resource integrity. The supplied extended 0.10.8 singleplayer log showed no LoxWagon exception. Native Hildir asset extraction and bowl targeting, shaders, weather transitions, hitched boarding/bed behavior and real map/inventory save persistence still require Valheim testing.
0.10.8
Public Thunderstore testing release for singleplayer. Pre-1.0; multiplayer remains unverified and unsupported.
Fixed and changed
- Restore the front covering's 0.10.5 geometry, shading normals and eleven frame ties. Keep its cover-toggle collision and add the native lox rug's wispy outer fur layer.
- Wrap the rear entrance roll with native lox-rug body and tip materials. Compress the fur beneath its three lashings and leave the ends exposed. Remove the loose hanging flap.
- Add layered rolled-hide/fabric end textures to both the rear entrance roll and the port exterior cargo roll.
- Remove the decorative rope coil beside the port cargo roll.
- Vary native wood-floor plank samples, grain direction and muted tones across the cabin floor, rear steps and divider. Use a continuous sample along each board instead of repeating the same short tile.
- Make wagon righting slightly more tolerant of lean, residual movement and uneven ground, while retaining authority, hitch, nearby-rider and obstruction checks.
- Preserve the main roof's coverage and dominant lox skin, accepted workbench and rear corners, frame and roll placement, cargo staging, storage, recipes, mass, lights and saved controls. No dimensioner is delivered.
Validation
Compiled against the supplied Valheim/BepInEx assemblies. Local checks cover exact front-cover restoration, retained roof geometry, plank UV variation, paired fur layers, rolled ends, cargo staging, contact volumes, recovery guards and the embedded runtime resource. Native shaders, wood extraction, fur appearance, camera behavior, PhysX and real saves still require Valheim testing.
0.10.7
Fixed and changed
- Normalize native banner cloth orientation before fitting, fixing the planar-width rejection that left every style unavailable. Alpha-edge trimming can no longer discard a style solely because a continuous opaque band is absent. Retain pole-tip contact, gravity and native wind.
- Remove the spice rack's upper rope assembly and isolate strands by their cord attachments. Give each strand its own sway pivot, preserve native ingredients and lower cords, and spread them approximately evenly within one port beam bay. Keep inventory-driven visibility.
- Replace mottled book covers with plain muted colors and correct the side-facing shield's hanging rotation.
- Smooth the front lox hide's shading and shallow drape toward its attachments. Keep the accepted main canopy coverage.
- Use a cropped native basic-floor plank texture with aligned grain for cabin floorboards and rear stairs.
- Add solid collision to the raised front bench. Add convex roof and front-hide contacts that follow the saved cover toggle.
- Warm both lanterns slightly toward orange without changing brightness or reach.
- Retain the accepted workbench, rear corner returns, platform bed, roll placement, exterior cargo sway, recipes, mass, storage and saved controls. No dimensioner is included.
Validation
Compiled against the supplied Valheim/BepInEx assemblies. Local production-math checks cover banner planes/alpha fallback, separate spice cords with overlapping foliage, gravity and prop orientation. Baked contacts and retained geometry pass local checks. Native GPU extraction, shaders, camera behavior, PhysX and real saves still require in-game testing; multiplayer remains unverified and unsupported.
0.10.6
Public Thunderstore testing release for singleplayer. Pre-1.0; multiplayer remains unverified and unsupported.
Nomad Wagon
- Aligned the native banner's aft cloth edge with the pole tip, removed the native loop/eyelet band and added gravity-driven drape while retaining native wind. The top edge stays attached to the pole.
- Increased exterior cargo acceleration response, travel and bob by approximately 30%, with slightly softer settling. Frame hitches stay fixed while the returning ropes follow moving cargo.
- Replaced repeated loose herb pickups with render-only hanging assemblies extracted from the native spice rack. Original bundles, jars, ingredient strings and connecting cords retain their materials and arrangement. Port-beam hangings have substantially freer sway and appear in inventory stages at 5, 13 and 24 occupied slots.
- Used native Fine Wood surface grain for the skinny longitudinal beams and banner extension. The main arches retain Core Wood.
- Replaced stacked rear sidewall terminations with fitted wooden returns following the stock cargo tub. Kept the original hull and chassis and clipped cabin timber and bed-platform contacts inside them.
- Narrowed the rear inventory chest from 0.82 to 0.64 m and shifted it toward the wall, widening the passage without changing the 24-slot hold.
- Restored the rear-right shield's native item scale and removed both oval exterior placeholder bags and their dedicated ties. Exterior crate furs remain absent.
- Drew the front lox skin back toward its hoop anchors while keeping its central surface close to the divider. Main roof coverage and the dominant lox skin remain unchanged.
- Extended the bed 0.20 m toward the foot and widened it 0.04 m. Replaced legs with fitted platform boards reaching the cabin floor, preserved the sleeping head position and added a matching solid platform contact.
- Added two more rotated, overlapping wolf skins. Mattress, pillow and book surfaces now have warm muted colors and worn texture shading; book covers use brighter faded colors.
- Oriented the native tankard by its closed base and seated it upright on the bedside crate.
- Replaced the workbench slab with three broad worn planks. Extracted native top-surface wood grain and corrected its UV orientation and scale. No additional clutter was added.
- Reworked fabric rolls with fuller bodies, shallow rope-seat pinches and slightly flared ends. The rear roll keeps its fitted position, with lox fur wrapped around the outside and plain hide end faces.
- Disabled shadow casting on lantern housings to prevent exaggerated self-shadow bars. Increased interior warmth and reach, with a restrained fill light that switches and saves with the interior lantern. Rear rope suspension and independent controls remain.
- Changed the Nomad recipe to 120 Fine Wood, 80 Core Wood, 160 Iron Nails, 8 Barrel Hoops, 24 Lox Pelts and 24 Linen Thread. Added 35 empty mass over the Cargo Wagon, giving default masses of 100 and 65 respectively.
Release and validation
- Updated public installation, configuration, recipe and testing documentation. No standalone dimensioner is delivered in this build.
- Preserved Cargo Wagon construction costs, storage, loading, seats, chassis and existing saved identities. Nomad health, capacity, interaction controls and inventory thresholds remain unchanged.
- Compiled against the supplied Valheim/BepInEx assemblies and ran focused geometry, native-detail math, storage, recipe, control, footing and embedded-resource checks. Flat-color geometry views were reviewed locally. Native GPU mesh extraction, shaders, lighting, PhysX and real saves require Valheim testing; no multiplayer approval is implied.
0.10.5
Public Thunderstore testing release for singleplayer. Pre-1.0; multiplayer remains unverified and unsupported.
Nomad Wagon
- Integrated the approved frame and rear-roll dimensions, relocated both skinny-beam pairs and moved their lashings with them. Preserved the chosen roll surfaces and resting position.
- Tightened frame and roll lashings. Added a third roll sling to the exposed centre beam, with all three suspension tops pinned to fixed hitches during motion.
- Corrected inward-facing roll surfaces, added opaque native lox backing and retained lox fur for the roll, roof and stretched front covering.
- Increased rear-roll swing and added cosmetic avatar-contact responses to it and the rope-suspended rear lantern. Exterior cargo has slightly more movement. These cosmetic reactions apply no force to the chassis.
- Used uniformly scaled native banner cloth beneath the relocated pole, without added loops. Applied the approved scale, height, fore/aft offset and pole length. None remains the saved/default option, hiding the extension.
- Added ship-style idle foothold correction while standing inside the cabin. It releases for movement, jumps, knockback, attachment, leaving the cabin and severe slopes.
- Replaced interior hanging bags with staged native herb bundles. Repaired book/satchel opacity and shelf contact.
- Added a matching grey/off-white fabric mattress and pillow. Rotated and overlapped the wolf skins, with draped edges. Moved the tankard upright beside the bedside lantern and increased workbench texture density.
- Removed exterior crate furs. Trimmed and capped side boards against the original curved cargo bed, added fitted rear end caps/fascia and generated matching convex contacts. Trimmed cabin timber that crossed the bed hull.
- Kept roof coverage and drape while arranging one dominant lox skin over smaller lower skins. Retained the front lox skin tied directly to the first arch ahead of the divider.
- Renamed the Nomad inventory prompt to Wagon Inventory.
Cleanup and release files
- Reorganized the dimensioner into six categories. Added independent arch bend, skinny-beam, banner, roll-sizing and centre-lashing controls; retained the returned defaults.
- Removed obsolete 32-slot Nomad conversion and temporary overflow logic. Current 24-slot inventories use native persistence. Empty legacy 32-slot Nomads before updating.
- Removed unused builders, retired packing experiments and duplicated viewer data. Reduced routine logging while retaining warnings/errors and quieter handling of absent optional mods.
- Updated the Unity thumbnail light lookup and player documentation. Kept the install ZIP separate from source, authoring and validation files.
- Preserved recipes, health, storage capacities, seats, steps, chassis, wheels, hitch, cargo progression, lantern settings and existing saved customization choices.
Validation
Compiled against the supplied Valheim/BepInEx assemblies and checked the embedded layout, geometry, storage/menu behavior, customization controls and idle-footing logic. Native rendering, PhysX behavior and real save/reload testing require Valheim; these checks do not constitute multiplayer approval. See the source package's validation/RESULTS.md and TESTING.md.
0.10.4
- Fixed Nomad construction failing during chest setup. The original Cart inventory is retained, including functional children of old load visuals, and passed directly to the rear chest. Inactive hierarchy lookups now include inactive ancestors.
- Removed the
EnableNomadWagonsetting. Both wagon variants register automatically in the Hammer menu. The obsolete setting is removed from existing configuration files at startup; previous false values no longer suppress Nomad construction. - Replaced the divider-mounted front hide with a full front-hoop covering, laced directly to the first hoop at eleven points. Interior divider bookshelves are retained.
- Rotated the banner 90 degrees around vertical to face the wagon's sides and positioned it lengthwise beneath the skinny starboard pole extension.
- Enlarged the rear hide roll and lowered it beneath the skinny poles. Its interaction follows the roll, and restrained side motion preserves clearance while fore/aft dangling remains.
- Retained the steps, floor, wheels, chassis, cargo progression, lantern settings and existing wagon identities/inventories.
- Corrected the preceding update's changelog version to 0.10.3; that build was previously stamped 0.11.0. This release's DLL, manifest and preview use 0.10.4.
0.10.3
- Narrowed the Nomad's upper crown while retaining four Core Wood hoops, full-width mounting points, frame height and the existing chassis.
- Corrected the designer-to-game handedness for generated additions and native prop placements.
- Disabled world-space wood shader deformation on Nomad structural materials; static handmade irregularity remains baked into the geometry.
- Added a native wooden chest as the only inventory interaction point. The 24-slot wagon inventory and migration behavior are retained.
- Added divider shelves with leather-bound books, native workbench tools, a tankard and a hanging tool pouch.
- Added load-dependent bags, coiled rope, draped cargo furs and maximum-load interior bundles. Exterior loads now have restrained cosmetic movement; dependent upper cargo moves with its support.
- Added the exterior front divider hide and a dangling rolled rear hide. Interacting with the roll toggles the roof and front covering together; the choice is saved.
- Added a native banner selector at the end of the skinny upper starboard pole. None is the default, hiding both the banner and pole extension. The choice is saved per wagon.
- Replaced the rear lantern chain with rope, extended rear light range by 50%, and applied a small warmth adjustment while retaining native intensity and independent unlimited-fuel controls.
- Added minimum comfort 5 inside the cabin, preserving higher comfort and normal resting requirements. Cover removal no longer supplies wagon shelter to players, beds or the workbench.
- Preserved the existing rear steps, climb-aboard interaction, wheel geometry, axles, chassis and Cargo Wagon behavior.
- Updated the self-contained dimensioner, GLB, dimensions, source and validation fixtures. Nomad construction remains disabled by default; no icon files are written to config.
0.10.2
- Applied the supplied dimensions (8): hoop width 3.40 m, frame top 5.46 m, Core Wood diameter 0.24 m and outward bow 0.07 m. All other supplied parameters are retained.
- Matched the working Cargo fur path by retaining outward normals on both triangle windings. Kept native rug textures and added a regression check for reversed-normal copies.
- Isolated the native Core Wood bark UV region from the log donor, then tiled it along the hoops and smaller poles. Extraction runs once at prefab construction, with a logged native-material fallback.
- Tinted the native Dvergr lantern and chain materials matte black while retaining native textures, emission, independent controls and vanilla light values.
- Rebuilt cross bindings as compact diagonal rope wraps fitted around the timber sections. Corrected rope UV direction and the circumference seam.
- Resolved Nomad storage through Vagon's actual container reference, including child storage and delayed initialization. Cargo visibility also refreshes through the native inventory/mass update; each occupancy change is logged. Rear-box access and inventory migration recognize child storage.
- Turned the sleeping avatar 180 degrees so the feet face the rear opening. Preserved the world-space aisle exit and sleep-only behavior.
- Added
Wagon.EnableNomadWagon, defaultfalse. It gates Hammer construction while retaining the network prefab and existing saved wagons. Restart required; match settings on all peers. - Compiled and ran targeted geometry, resource, storage and menu checks. Native material appearance and actual game behavior still need an in-game test. The supplied log's unrelated/unassigned LoxChest shader-property errors remain documented, without suppression.
0.10.1
- Replaced Unity JSON deserialization of the embedded Nomad layout with an explicit binary reader. This addresses prefab construction aborting with
Invalid Nomad layoutbefore network and Hammer registration. - Added a successful-layout diagnostic listing native props, cargo stages, lanterns and contacts. Invalid data now identifies the failed field or format check.
- Corrected the startup version message to use the plugin metadata.
- Executed the shipping DLL reader against the complete embedded layout and compared every runtime field with the authored values. Added malformed-data and compatibility checks.
- Retained the exact 0.10.0 mesh payload, dimensions and gameplay settings.
0.10.0
- Rebuilt the Nomad around four broad Core Wood hoops, a rectangular center beam, fitted longitudinal poles and coherent wood/lashing deformation.
- Added a continuous lox-hide canopy with six irregularly overlapping native fur surfaces and four cross-cover lashings with rail hitches.
- Added a compact carved travel bed with layered native fur. Sleep remains separate from respawn and retains normal sleep requirements.
- Added a functioning workbench with crafting, repair, build range and nearby upgrade support. Placement previews do not register a usable station.
- Added independently saved controls for rear and interior Dvergr lanterns. Native lantern light settings are copied, fuel remains unlimited, and only the rear assembly swings.
- Added twelve Nomad loading stages: rear lower box, rear barrel and rear stacked box first, then exterior supplies, with the two small supported exterior pieces last.
- Fitted cargo straps to box faces and barrel surfaces. Cargo ropes follow visibility with their props; structural bindings follow the wood deformation.
- Retained the high two-step rear entry, Climb Aboard, 24-slot inventory, two front seats, original wagon body and existing inventory migration.
- Applied 2.2x rim width and 1.5x spoke thickness to both wagon variants. Hubs, axle geometry, wheel centers and handling are unchanged.
- Added an editable offline dimensioner with cargo fullness control. GLB exports now omit the mannequin and match preview colors. No icon files are written to configuration folders.
- Compiled against supplied game assemblies. Native appearance, Unity lifecycle, movement and multiplayer interactions require in-game validation.
0.9.2
Changed
- Rebuilt Nomad framing from native Core Wood log meshes: taller vertical posts, straight shoulder/roof members and longitudinal rails.
- Replaced custom floor boards with native wood floor meshes and extended the deck beyond the rear lip. Exactly two broad treads replace four narrow steps, ending higher above the ground for jump entry. Climb Aboard remains available at the steps while parked and unhitched; no invisible extra steps.
- Flattened the rolled rear hide and rearranged the canopy as six larger, staggered, rotated and reversed hides, following the accepted Cargo cover style.
- Replaced the custom lamp with a native Dvergr lantern on the rearward extension of one upper frame rail. Added an acceleration/gravity-driven damped swing, stronger 2200 K light, title-cased interaction labels and unlimited fuel.
- Used the native Dvergr bed visual while preserving sleep-only behavior and the player's existing spawn point.
- Replaced the custom side shield and spear with native plain Wood Shield and flint spear visuals. Turned the side barrel lengthwise. Removed side racks, platforms and ropes; lashings remain deferred.
- Reduced Nomad storage to 24 slots (6 × 4), with lossless reflow and temporary overflow rows for existing inventories larger than 24 stacks. Cargo storage remains 32 slots.
- Native prop fitting can preserve proportions and normalize donor axes while retaining game materials and UVs.
Fixed
- Guarded Nomad hover and interaction handlers when gameplay components are absent, addressing repeated ExpeditionUse.GetHoverText null references in the supplied 0.9.1 log.
- Clamped the provision-bag profile before a fractional power, removing the NaN vertices produced by floating-point sine at the upper pole.
- Kept both wagon display names, the requested Nomad description and saved prefab identities. The Nomad rear seat remains removed; icon PNG export remains disabled.
Deferred and validation
- Tarp removal is a future in-world toggle, not a frame-only config setting. Finished ropes and the final distinct Hammer thumbnail are deferred.
- Compiled against the supplied game assemblies. Donor, geometry, inventory-reflow and numeric regression checks pass. Native appearance, swing, sleep alignment, jump entry and multiplayer still require live testing; see TESTING.md.
0.9.1
Fixed
- Corrected native visual copying for the Nomad Wagon. The 0.9.0 log showed chest bounds failure aborting prefab construction before Hammer registration.
- Select intact/closed donor visuals without depending on their prefab activation state; support static snapshots of skinned meshes, select usable LODs, and exclude damaged states and snow overlays.
- A native chest import failure now builds a complete wooden chest in the same position, with access to the same saved wagon inventory, instead of preventing the wagon from registering.
- Excluded snow materials from the wooden frame material selection. Registration logs now identify both wagon display names and saved prefab names.
Changed
- Renamed the base build piece to Cargo Wagon and the expedition build piece to Nomad Wagon. Saved prefab identifiers remain unchanged.
- Nomad Wagon description: "A covered traveling wagon drawn by a tamed lox, built for long journeys."
- Removed automatic icon PNG exports to the config directory for both variants. In-game build-menu thumbnails remain enabled.
- Recipes, health, shared physics, Cargo Wagon geometry and configuration values are unchanged.
Validation status
- Compiled against the supplied game assemblies. Production donor-copy tests pass with simulated Unity boundaries, including failed donor imports; native and fallback chest layout checks pass.
- The 0.9.0 session did not reach Nomad placement. Build-menu appearance and all Nomad gameplay still require in-game confirmation. Cargo Wagon retains the established singleplayer baseline; multiplayer remains under testing.
0.9.0
Added
- Separate Expedition Wagon Hammer piece with 3,600 HP and its own persistent prefab identity.
- Permanent arched timber cage, overlapping lox-hide canopy, rolled rear weather tarp, floor, rear entry steps, furnishings and expedition gear.
- Covered-interior shelter that follows the wagon and immediately returns to ordinary cover calculation on exit.
- Usable fur bedroll with normal night-sleep conditions and a daytime lie-down option; existing respawn point is preserved.
- Shared 32-slot storage accessed from the visible chest. Capacity is provisional.
- Toggleable rear-right lantern on a horizontal arm, with saved network state.
- Separate in-game build icon for the expedition variant.
Variant behaviour
- Expedition recipe: 40 Fine Wood, 20 Core Wood, 80 Iron Nails, 4 Barrel Hoops, 12 Lox Pelts and 8 Linen Thread.
- Expedition load-visual list is empty. Inventory occupancy never adds cargo props or a freight tarp.
- Two forward seats remain; rear entrance is clear.
- Both variants share the existing chassis, tamed-lox hitch, mass configuration, flotation and righting system.
- Cargo wagon recipe, cargo geometry, fur, collision data, seating and physics implementation remain unchanged from 0.8.3.
Validation status
- Compiled against supplied Valheim and BepInEx assemblies. Local API, lifecycle and spatial checks passed.
- First expedition test build. In-game rendering, sleep, shelter, entry/exit, persistence and physics remain unverified. Multiplayer is unverified.
0.8.3
Changed
- Enabled
Wagon.FloatOnWaterby default. Existing configuration values are preserved; set it totruewhen upgrading from a configuration that has flotation disabled. - Increased the recipe to 80 Fine Wood, 30 Core Wood and 16 Lox Pelts. Iron Nails (80), Barrel Hoops (4) and Linen Thread (8) are unchanged.
- Designated 0.8.3 as a stable singleplayer release following successful gameplay and flotation testing. Multiplayer remains under testing.
- Cargo arrangement, appearance, buoyancy tuning and chassis behavior are unchanged from 0.8.2. Further cargo refinements are deferred.
0.8.2
Added
- Nine small crates fill additional rear and side gaps, bringing the full load to 96 cargo pieces. Existing cargo positions, rotations, sizes and loading stages are preserved.
- Optional
Wagon.FloatOnWatersetting, disabled by default. When enabled, the wagon is tuned to float at the lower cargo bed with its wheels and axles submerged. Restart required. Flotation is experimental and needs in-game testing.
Changed
- Build recipe: 40 Fine Wood, 20 Core Wood, 80 Iron Nails, 4 Barrel Hoops, 12 Lox Pelts and 8 Linen Thread. Tar, Iron and Leather Scraps are no longer required.
- Updated cargo collision envelopes to include the new filler crates.
- Rewrote the README with player-focused installation, controls, recipe and configuration guidance.
0.8.1
Fixed
- Use distance to the physical cargo body for wagon inventory opening and auto-close, avoiding a prompt that opens a window only for it to close immediately from the old root-distance check. Ordinary containers keep vanilla behavior.
Changed
- Repack the hold with 87 fixed-size pieces, including 26 barrels (previously 65 pieces and six barrels). Authored bounding volume increases by approximately 13%; dimensions remain fixed.
- Offset the two rear display barrels by about 19 cm in height and 42 cm in depth, with slight opposing angles and independent crate supports. Preserve clear rear cap views.
- Fit larger angled floor crates and smaller fillers into the curved bed. Reorder loading stages so supports appear first and every stage adds cargo.
- Move the four full-size fur sections inward to reduce hanging edges while retaining their UVs, materials, size and the existing underlying cover profile. Rope material unchanged.
- Regenerate the staged rollover collision envelopes for the new cargo layout.
Validation
- Full-load rollover collision and repeated righting were confirmed in 0.8.0 testing. Empty and partial load rollover coverage remains pending.
- 0.8.0 log contains two successful righting events and no exceptions; existing LoxChest material warnings remain unresolved.
- New layout passes conservative bounds intersection, curved-bed containment, support-order and sampled cover-clearance checks. Native meshes and rendering still require in-game inspection.
- Seats, recovery implementation, chassis joint tuning, hitch position, recipe, HP and mass defaults unchanged. Multiplayer remains under test.
0.8.0
Added
- Eight curved bed collision strips while retaining the existing keel and wheel contacts.
- Fifteen simplified convex load/cover collision envelopes tied to visible loading stages, using the wagon body without extra rigidbodies or cargo mass.
- Right wagon alternate-use interaction when tipped more than 60 degrees. Owner validates identity, reach, stopped/unhitched/unoccupied state, static footing and destination clearance. Resets the complete articulated assembly with zero velocity and publishes its pose.
Preserved
- Existing seats, shaft interactions, visuals, hitch position, joint limits, recipe, 1,200 HP, base mass 65 and cargo-scale default 0.30. No buoyancy changes.
- Preview duplication fix and saved inventory/damage behavior.
Validation
- Based on the 0.7.7 baseline validated in singleplayer testing. New collision/recovery behavior is a test candidate until verified in-game; multiplayer remains under testing.
- Compiled against the Valheim assemblies. Convex geometry, stage coverage and recovery transform checks pass; these do not run Unity/PhysX.
- Existing controller lifecycle harness and game-member checks pass.
- Cosmetic cargo/fur work is deferred and recorded in validation/ROADMAP.md.
0.7.7
Changed
- Set the default CargoMassScale to 0.30. Existing configuration values are preserved.
- Replace the release icon with the exact 256×256 color in-game export; leave the in-game thumbnail unchanged.
- Carry forward the 0.7.6 placement-preview duplication fix for singleplayer save/reload testing. Existing saved duplicates are not deleted.
Validation status
- Cargo handling was tested at scales of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.6; 0.3 was selected as the default.
- The extended 0.7.5 snow-session log contains no UpdateSnow exception, ownership-loss detach spam or build-piece/recipe exceptions. Recorded travel samples remain attached after hitching.
- All three seats, cargo/fur appearance, shaft geometry and lox attachment position remain unchanged.
- Duplicate prevention and hitch restoration across save/reload still require in-game verification. Multiplayer remains under test.
- LoxChest shader-property errors remain unassigned because the log contains no caller stack. No blanket suppression added.
0.7.6
Fixed
- Activate the inactive wagon build preview immediately after cloning, while Valheim still has ZNetView.m_forceDisableInit enabled. This prevents delayed Awake from assigning a saved network identity to a preview.
- Mark the preview before activation and verify it has no valid ZDO. Preserve normal placed/loaded instance activation.
Preserved / validation
- All three confirmed passenger seats, cargo, fur, chassis and hitch implementation are unchanged from 0.7.5.
- Existing saved duplicates are not automatically removed or merged.
- Compiled against the Valheim assemblies; inspected native SetupPlacementGhost guard ordering. Verify selecting/cancelling/moving the wagon preview and saving/reloading no longer creates copies.
0.7.5
Fixed
- Correct the hitch-state hash reference from a nonexistent Vagon field to
ZDOVars.s_attachJointHash. Use a direct compiler-checked reference instead of reflection. This fixes the controller static-initializer crash that blocked hitching in 0.7.4. - Correct the lifecycle test mock, which had repeated the same wrong field ownership assumption. Add validation against real game-assembly metadata for reflected members.
Preserved / validation
- All three passenger seats were confirmed working in testing and remain unchanged from 0.7.4.
- No cargo, fur, chassis tuning, recipe or mass-setting changes.
- Compile and lifecycle checks pass; live attachment and the previously blocked multiplayer tests still require in-game confirmation.
- Exact release icon replacement remains pending the exported runtime PNG.
0.7.4
Fixed
- Persist the lox network ID independently of the local hitch joint. Ownership loss releases local physics without clearing the stored hitch; the new owner reconstructs it when ready.
- Follow the lox owner's physics authority and publish child poses/velocities before deliberate handoff. Retain hitch intent while the target is streamed out.
- Replace the lox-mode vanilla Update detach loop. Non-owner cleanup no longer repeatedly applies detach forces or emits stack traces.
- Isolate wagon attachment from vanilla DetachAll; ordinary-cart attachment cannot detach independent LoxWagons.
- Apply CargoMassScale directly to inventory weight. At base 65, scale 0.1 and load 13,440, total mass is 1,409.
- Remove the reconstructed keel's opt-in to Chair-dependent vanilla sled snow logic. No global exception suppression.
- Keep the inactive generated prefab alive across world transitions. Deduplicate only owned Hammer entries, validate recipe ItemDrops and invalidate the ObjectDB piece cache.
Added / changed
- One backward-facing rear passenger attachment point on the existing rim. No new seat model; front seating unchanged.
- Recipe: 40 Fine Wood, 20 Core Wood, 80 Iron Nails, 4 Barrel Hoops, 12 Lox Pelts, 8 Linen Thread, 10 Tar, 4 Iron, 20 Leather Scraps. Removed Black Metal.
- Description: “A sturdy cargo wagon drawn by a tamed lox.”
- Export the exact in-game color thumbnail to BepInEx/config/LoxWagon-icon.png. Packaging accepts --icon for that export. The ZIP icon replacement remains pending receipt of the runtime PNG.
Upgrade / validation
- Default cargo scale remains 0.60; existing values are retained. The corrected formula contributes ten times as much cargo mass at the same setting as 0.7.3. Renewed balance testing is required.
- Old 0.7.3 saved hitches need one manual reattach because they never stored the target ID.
- Compiled against Valheim/BepInEx assemblies. Actual network controller passes a deterministic lifecycle harness with fake Unity/network boundaries; this is not a live multiplayer or PhysX test.
- Test host/client handoffs, rider disconnect/reconnect, world reload, separate wagons, Mountain travel while unhitched, and Hammer/recipe availability after changing worlds.
- Cargo/fur/lashing appearance unchanged from 0.7.3.
0.7.3
Fixed
- Restored a fur-material surface path for the game's non-readable rug meshes. The 0.7.2 test log confirmed all four source meshes were GPU-only, so the readable-mesh-only path could not render hides.
- Clone the loaded vanilla Cart rope material, including its shader and settings. Removed the failing Standard shader lookup that left one magenta renderer and stopped the remaining lashings.
- Resolve rope material before creating a renderer; isolate each cross-load lashing failure and log completion out of four.
Changed
- Removed every sack and its model lookup.
- Restored two prominent large horizontal rear barrels, with caps facing backward, on low supporting crates.
- Retained 42 forward crate/barrel placements in plan where they fit, resettled after sack removal, and fitted the rear bay around the signature barrels. Final load: 65 fixed-size pieces.
- Both rear barrels appear together after their supporting cargo. Kept the 0.7.2 cover profile.
- Log active BaseChassisMass and CargoMassScale at startup so retained config values are visible.
Preserved
- Existing lox attachment position, shafts and their interaction, passenger seating, bench and chassis tuning.
- CargoMassScale default 0.60, empty mass 65, maximum HP 1,200 and 32-slot inventory. Existing configs retain their settings.
Validation
- Compiled against Valheim/BepInEx assemblies.
- All 65 rotated cargo bounds pass pairwise intersection, bed containment, support-stage and sampled cover-clearance checks.
- Checked restoration of the non-readable-mesh fallback, full hide UV range, and removal of the rope shader-lookup dependency.
- Rendering, native mesh contact, material appearance and handling remain pending in-game confirmation.
0.7.2
Changed
- Rebuilt the load as 89 fixed-size cargo pieces: four crate sizes, three barrel sizes and two sack sizes using the vanilla BarleyFlour visual.
- Apply size conversion before placement rotation, eliminating the previous rotate-then-stretch shear.
- Reordered seven occupancy stages from lower supported cargo upward, with balanced partial loads.
- Held the cover profile fixed independently of cargo placement, using a reconstruction of the 0.7.1 silhouette.
- Replaced the three stretched, edge-clamped skins with four proportionally scaled native hides, mapped by surface distance with free overhang.
- Replaced flat dark lashings with textured rope tubes and securing wraps around the wooden rim. Uses an available vanilla rope texture, with a woven hemp texture fallback.
- Raised lox-local attachment height from 0.30m to 1.25m; retained its forward placement.
- Changed the default CargoMassScale to 0.60, a 40% reduction. Existing configs retain their values; set 0.60 manually for this balance test.
Preserved
- Existing passenger positions, bench, wide shafts and full-length shaft interaction.
- Articulated chassis tuning, 1,200 maximum HP, empty mass of 65 and 32 inventory slots.
Validation
- Compiled against Valheim/BepInEx assemblies.
- All 89 rotated cargo bounds pass pairwise intersection and curved-bed containment checks. Every support is present by the dependent item's loading stage.
- Sampled cargo faces clear the fixed backing profile; native mesh contact and final appearance still require in-game inspection.
- Arc-length mapping checked for finite geometry, bounded local stretch and unclamped overhang.
- Higher hitch position, rope appearance, hide overlap and loaded handling require in-game testing.
0.7.1
Changed
- Increased base maximum wagon health to 1,200 HP. Existing saved damage is retained; repair normally.
- Set the default CargoMassScale to 0.50, a 50% reduction from vanilla cargo mass contribution. Existing config values are preserved and must be changed manually to test the new balance.
- Added roll and pitch to selected large crates and smaller fillers for a more tightly packed appearance.
- Settle cargo downward toward the curved bed or earlier-stage cargo using transformed mesh-bounds contact checks.
- Enlarged all three lox hides and varied their orientation and overlap. Retained the underlying tarp and lashings.
- Moved the lox-side attachment point 1.4m forward to seat the lox farther between the shafts.
- Added overlapping interaction targets along both shafts, following their steering and pitch, for attaching and detaching a nearby lox.
- Prioritize nearby eligible lox by distance between attachment points.
- Consolidated the release into one clean ZIP with the current README, changelog and source.
Preserved
- Existing passenger positions, raised bench, wide shaft geometry and articulated chassis tuning.
- Empty chassis mass of 65 and 32-slot inventory.
Validation
- Compiled against Valheim and BepInEx assemblies.
- Authored cargo-envelope and tarp-clearance checks pass; these do not simulate the final runtime mesh arrangement.
- Contact solver checked with flat and tilted stacks, curved-floor contact and separated hulls.
- New cargo appearance, hide coverage, shaft interaction, hitch position and loaded handling require in-game testing.
0.7.0
Added
- Three overlapping lox-hide sections over the existing taut full-load cover, retaining native rug materials and available geometry.
- Standard
Wagon.AllowHumanPullingoption, disabled by default.
Changed
- Set wagon base maximum health to 1,000 HP. Existing saved damage is retained; normal repair restores full health.
- Articulated four-wheel chassis is always enabled; removed the articulation test toggle.
- Widened visible front shafts to tip centres 3.30m apart, flaring from their original mounting points; moved wagon-side rope endpoints to the new tips.
- Moved both seated avatar positions rearward 12cm. Bench model and seat height are unchanged; world-space dismount positions are preserved.
- Staggered the two rear barrels and increased selected rear crate rotations. Retained 52 visible cargo props, fullness stages and load height.
- Replaced diagnostic configuration wording with normal gameplay settings. Obsolete diagnostic entries are removed on startup while existing mass settings are preserved.
- Updated release documentation and added a repeatable package-building script to the development archive.
Preserved
- Physical hitch position, steering/pitch limits, joint tuning, wheel physics and cargo mass behavior from the successful 0.6.1 build.
- Extended testing confirmed stable hitch behavior; no additional hitch or physics changes were included.
Validation
- Compiled against Valheim and BepInEx assemblies.
- Cargo-envelope and tarp-backing clearance checks pass.
- Configuration migration tested against the BepInEx assembly, including preference persistence.
- New appearance and passenger fit require in-game confirmation. Multiplayer limitations remain documented in the README.
0.6.1
- Raised the front wooden sitting board to better meet the existing passenger pose while retaining the lower foot platform.
- Unified both passenger interaction labels to
Seat. - Removed the pale canvas edge strips from the full-load cover.
- Added a native lox-rug surface pass for the taut cargo cover, with fallback behavior if the preferred rug geometry/material path is unavailable.
- Preserved the existing articulated chassis, passenger anchors, cargo arrangement, and mass tuning from the previous test baseline.
0.6.0
- Added two forward-facing passenger seats to the wagon's front bench.
- Added runtime lox-rug texturing to the fully loaded cargo cover.
- Retained the existing chassis, hitch, wheel animation, cargo arrangement, and mass tuning.
0.5.3
- Corrected cargo filler placement that could prevent visible cargo stages from being committed.
- Increased the empty chassis mass target from 50 to 65.
- Retained
CargoMassScale = 0.10after confirming a full stone load remained movable by a lox.
0.5.2
- Stabilized the articulated four-wheel chassis using Battering Ram wheel-contact behavior as the physical reference.
- Added front steering yaw and pitch articulation while keeping roll locked.
- Routed the visible shafts and physical hitch through the front carrier.
- Added a taut full-load cover, tie-downs, and additional cargo filler props.
Earlier alpha development
- Converted the vanilla Haldor merchant wagon visual into a buildable networked
Vagon-based prefab. - Added lox-only hitching and blocked normal player hand-pulling.
- Added 8 x 4 storage, staged cargo visualization, custom build-menu thumbnail generation, and multiplayer-oriented ownership handling.
