LumberCamp
A Dvergr lumberjack who fells trees around a camp, splits the logs, clears the stumps and stores the wood in your chests. Optional replanting.Lumber Camp
Hire Dvergr lumberjacks to do your logging for you.
Build a camp near some trees and give it a chest. Your lumberjacks fell the trees, split the logs, clear the stumps and put the wood away while you do something else.
Features
- A Lumber Camp (hammer → Misc). Placing it hires your first lumberjack.
- The whole job, start to finish. A lumberjack fells a tree, splits every log, clears the stump, picks up what dropped and carries it to a chest. Then he starts again. He deals with fallen logs and stumps first, even ones you left, before cutting the next standing tree.
- A camp panel to pause work, hire or dismiss lumberjacks, add chests, set how far they roam, choose which trees to cut and turn replanting on or off.
- Replanting. After clearing a stump, a lumberjack plants a sapling of the same
tree. It's free by default; turn off
FreeReplantand each sapling costs a seed or cone, which he picks up as trees drop them and keeps a stack of for planting. - Lumberjacks you don't have to protect. They're saved with the world, can't be hurt, and monsters ignore them. Their axes only hit trees, never your buildings, crops or animals.
- Teamwork. Two lumberjacks never go for the same tree.
- Lumberjacks on the map. Each one shows up as a blue arrow on the minimap and the big map, the same way other players do.
- Works with modded trees. Anything with a trunk can be cut. Trees the mod doesn't recognise are listed as "Other trees" in the panel.
- Unlocked by bosses. Each kind of tree becomes available as you progress (see below).
- Server-synced settings for limits, costs and behaviour.
Everyone on a server needs the mod. You can add it to an existing world.
Getting started
- Build a Lumber Camp near some trees. You need a workbench nearby.
- Add a chest. Place a chest within 20 m of the camp, open the camp and click Add nearest chest. Repeat for more chests.
- Set it up. Change the work radius if you like (10–100 m, 40 by default) and untick any trees you want left alone.
- Leave it running. Hover over a lumberjack to see what he's doing.
In the camp:
- Hire a lumberjack adds another one, up to the camp's limit (2 by default).
- Store wood now sends everyone to the chests straight away.
- Pause work stops cutting until you resume.
- Send one home dismisses a lumberjack. He drops whatever he was carrying. Removing the camp does this for all of them.
If the chests are full, or there aren't any, a lumberjack fills his bag and waits at the camp.
Which trees unlock when
A camp is always one biome ahead of you. Beating a boss unlocks the trees of the next biome, which is where you'd go to find their cones anyway.
| Trees | Unlocked by |
|---|---|
| Beech | Available from the start |
| Birch, Fir, Pine | Eikthyr |
| Oak, Ancient trees | The Elder |
| Yggdrasil shoots | Yagluth |
| Ashlands trees | The Queen |
| Other trees (including modded ones) | Available from the start |
Locked trees are greyed out in the panel, with a note saying which boss you still need
to beat. The boss keys match Portal Progression's. You can change each one in the
config, or turn off BossGating to unlock everything from the start.

Known issues
- Lumberjacks only work while someone is nearby. Valheim pauses everything in areas no player has loaded, so a lumberjack freezes when you leave and carries on when you come back. His map arrow stays where he stopped.
- Map markers in multiplayer. You only see lumberjacks your game knows about. A distant one shows where he was when you were last nearby. Ones you haven't been near since joining don't show up until you are.
- Only tree drops are collected. Lumberjacks pick up wood, resin, feathers, seeds and cones, and leave everything else on the ground.
- Some stumps stay bare. Swamp, Yggdrasil and Ashlands saplings need materials trees don't drop, so lumberjacks can't replant them.
