MiningCamp
Dvergr miners who go below and come back with ore. Mines look like the game's dungeon entrances and unlock as you defeat bosses.Mining Camp
Hire Dvergr miners to do your mining for you.
Build a camp and a mine next to it, then give the camp a chest. Your miners head underground, come back up with ore and put it in the chest while you do something else.
Features
- A Mining Camp (hammer → Misc). Placing it hires your first miner. Open the camp to hire or dismiss miners, add chests, link mines and pause work.
- Nine mines, one for each resource. Each one looks like a dungeon entrance from the game. Only miners can go in. You can't.
- Unlocked by bosses. A mine appears in your hammer once you've beaten the boss that unlocks it (see the table below). Like any recipe, you also need to have picked up its ore at least once.
- Mining continues while you're away. Trips run on world time. On a dedicated server, a trip finishes even if nobody is nearby, and the miner comes up as soon as someone loads the area.
- Miners you don't have to protect. They're saved with the world, can't be hurt, and monsters ignore them.
- Miners on the map. Each miner shows up as a blue arrow on the minimap and the big map, the same way other players do. A miner who is underground is a blue dot on his mine.
- Server-synced settings for bosses, trip times, yields, costs and how each mine looks.
Everyone on a server needs the mod. You can add it to an existing world.
Getting started
- Build a Mining Camp. You need a workbench nearby.
- Build a mine within 40 m of the camp. It links itself to the nearest camp. Mines are big, so leave room. To link a mine that's farther away, press E on the mine or use Link nearest mine in the camp.
- Add a chest. Place a chest within 20 m of the camp, open the camp and click Add nearest chest. Repeat for more chests.
- Leave it running. Hover over a mine to see how many miners are inside and when the next one comes up. Hover over a miner to see what he's doing.
In the camp:
- Hire a miner adds another miner, up to the camp's limit (3 by default).
- Send one home dismisses a miner who is above ground. If all your miners are underground, it calls one up early instead.
- Pause work keeps your miners at the camp. Any miner who is already underground still comes back up.
If a camp has several mines, its miners spread themselves across all of them.
Mines
Amounts are per miner, per trip. You can change all of them in the config.
| Mine | Unlocked by | Trip | Brings up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stone | Eikthyr | 8 min | 40 Stone |
| Coal | Eikthyr | 8 min | 12 Coal |
| Tin | The Elder | 8 min | 8 Tin Ore |
| Copper | The Elder | 8 min | 8 Copper Ore |
| Iron | Bonemass | 10 min | 8 Scrap Iron |
| Silver | Moder | 12 min | 6 Silver Ore |
| Black Metal | Yagluth | 14 min | 6 Black Metal Scrap |
| Flametal | Fader | 15 min | 5 Flametal Ore |
| Bloodgold | The Frozen King | 18 min | 5 Petrified Tissue |
The Stone Mine costs 20 Wood and 20 Stone. Every other mine costs 20 Wood, 10 Stone and 10 of the ore it produces.
The boss keys match Portal Progression's, so the two mods unlock things in step. Turn
off BossGating to remove the boss requirement completely.
Ore still can't go through portals, unless another mod allows it.

Known issues
- A mine looks like a plain stone arch. The game couldn't find the entrance that
mine is set to use. Turn on
ListLocations, find a name in the log and put it in that mine'sEntrancesetting. - Mines sink into the ground. That's how the game's own crypts sit. Clipping is ignored on purpose, so choose the spot carefully.
- Miners need to walk. A miner walks between the mine and the chests, so there must be a path between them. A mine on a cliff above the camp will leave him stuck.
- Map markers in multiplayer. You only see miners your game knows about. A distant miner shows where he was when you were last nearby. Miners you haven't been near since joining don't show up until you are.
